Being on my own for the first time in Tokyo, without any major problems oils my gears. I dropped my girlfriend off at her interview, went and found a smoking area, found a cafe, ordered a coffee (despite this cafe having absolutely no english in any of the signs) and I'm sitting down using the wi-fi.

You'll learn Japanese pretty quickly, as when you are surrounded by the language you pick it up super fast. Other than that it sounds like you're having a good time.

I hope I can learn Japanese. I know some basic conversational Japanese, but I'm a little too shy to use it. It's the same problem a lot of Japanese people have when speaking English. I hope I can pick it up over time.

Sounds awesome! We don't have those, the only thing with mincemeat in them here is mincemeat pies, they have berries, raisins, and whiskey in them. :yuck: Meat and berries don't mix. :lol:
 
All this talk of pies has got me craving a Steak Pie, they're just beautiful with chips.

Oh, I get pies. I love every single kind of pie except for the American mincemeat pie. (raisins and meat) Geez, I'd kill for a nice, chilled strawberry pie right now. :drool: I just have to wait until May. :grumpy: There's a cherry & berry pie sitting on the counter downstairs right now, and I'm tempted to have a slice, but it's 2:02 AM. :lol:
 
Aussie/NZ meat pies are actually the best - so much better than fruit pies. If you ever visit either places, you must eat one - or twelve :dopey:

That makes sense now, he was talking about Fruit Pies? :confused: Which are nowhere as good as meat pies.

A pie is something in a circular dish encased in a crust. By your standards I've never had a meat pie, only fruit. Anything else in your kind of pie than meat and cheese?

There are savouries. Which are like miniature pies. There are potato tops, pizza tops (that is the best), and more. And pies here aren't in a circular dish. They come in a plastic bag-like packaging...
 
I'm just back from Ochanomizu. It's an area in Tokyo with around 10 guitar stores on one street. After seeing hundreds of Gibson Les Pauls today, my gears are thoroughly oiled.
