This has been GT's tagline for a long time. Yet, it still hasn't happened. I realize that accurately reproducing physics and stuff is hard, but that's not my problem. When you drive a real car, you do not have a timer, a map, a lap counter, a gear counter, and speed/rpm overlay on top of your dashboard. There certainly isn't a light that blinks when its the correct time to brake (the biggest joke of them all). With today's graphic capabilities there is no reason why PD shouldn't be able to finally offer a true SIMULATION mode where the car will be in cockpit view with no graphic overlays at all. It will just be a simulation and you'll only get info from the road and the dash. All vehicles should come set with stock tires as defaults for EVERY vehicle so we have a better basis to make real comparisons between cars. Everyone driving every car with S2's is beyond ridiculous for simulation. If PD doesn't at least allow us to get rid of all of the overlays and at least make sensible stock tire recommendations, they should stop calling GT "The Real Driving Simulator" and call it "The Real Arcade Racer with Good Simulation Elements."
