Good turn out for some practice runs tonight. 6 racers posted times, Cobani had his first ever laps using the wheel, (although this was interupted by a fire call). Some good close battles through these sessions show that the pace is high, and slipstreams at Indy will be a major player in the race. Hancock set the fastest time tonight, so he is now the pace setter over Dan. Next Fridays practice will be later than usual, as I will be taking part in the TCR Lotus Elise event at 8.00pm, but I will open a lobby once that is finished, and we will run a few races using the medium tyre as well as the soft.

Yesterday I focused on the last narrow bend (I think it is no 11) before the long swiping bend/straight. I think you get highly rewarded if you nail that one. I also tried to shorten the braking distance into bend no 1.

No success. :(

Is there any set up that makes the car brake better or is it plain technique?

If grand valley taught me nothing, it was to maximize your speed on exit to long straights. So I would agree that nailing turn 11 will reap great rewards. 👍

For turn 1 I always try to be on the brakes before the first corner marker board. I use what I think is a fence mounted camera, before the boards, as my visual trigger. Hasn't seen me that wrong so far. My brake balance is 5/4, so make of that what you will. Hope it helps. 👍

Exactly the same marker as I use. My brakes are at 6/3.

Im still inconsistent through here too. sometimes I think I am concentrating too much for the turn, and end up going in too slow, or too fast. Just cant seem to nail it every time.

I did run a few laps with Rosen earlier, just in free run. Did my first 6 laps on the medium, (first try on these) and managed a 38.135. Was also pleased to get a 35.953 on the soft with no slip.

I use that one too, but there are small margins if you want to brake just a tiny bit later. :)

My brakes are set to 5/4.

Always fun to drive with someone! Seems like you have a good pace and more to come. 👍

I on the other hand is in a down-going spiral... need to re-set my mind and find a good rythm.

Keep at it Rosen, it will come together. I will be online from 8.00/8.30pm tonight for a few more laps.

Other news....Important time change information.

As several of us have familys with young children, the 8.30pm race start can sometimes cause an issue as well as for those who are sometimes working until shortly before the race.

In the past before we changed the room settings to get rid of the disconnection and invisible driver problems, we more often than not didnt start the race until 8.45/8.50pm.

I would therefore like to change future race start times to 9.00pm, with the room opening at 8.00pm like we did for the last race. This will only apply to main race events. All practice sessions will be unaffected.
The race will start at 9.00pm, no later.

This will allow for any competitors to get home from work, or their family's settled before the race.

I hope this is OK with everyone.

Guys, I will be taking part in the TCR vs GBRC event tomorrow at 8.00pm. Should be done by 9.00pm, and will open a lobby then. If anyone wants to run some practice before then, just use my lobby and I will join as soon as I'm done.👍👍👍

This is brutally unacceptable :sly:

Shut Up, just because you got tomorrow off, again!

Ran a few lap with GC Gary after the TCR event tonight. No new records were set, but theres still a chance tomorrow. Practice room will be open at 8.00pm, and will be the last chance to post times before Sunday's race. Dont forget, the race start time for Sunday is 9.00pm, with the room opening at 8.00pm

Awesome practice tonight chaps. The Alien will have his work cut out, with both Adam and Capt Gary getting into the 34's. Improvements all round as well on the med tyre tonight. Race day tomorrow will tell the story.

Barney and I are ready and waiting lol

Not sure if I can make this one guys, suffering from a bad cold/flu at the moment. Will see how I feel later.

Have fun, Indy Road usually produces good races. 👍

Or anything with pseudoephedrine. Apparently you can make crystal meth out of it, so it might be awkward to come by, depending on local drug laws.

I'm not going to make it tonight.. I got friends around again this evening.. Maybe Bo now has a shot at winning S3 :D

Have fun guys 👍

Adding a drop-score for S4 might be something to think about. RL and DCs are a large factors in online racing, they could be eased with such a ruling.

Car upgraded, going to run my first laps in Ades lounge now.
It is 9pm start time now.

That's a shame mate. All the championship pressure is on Capt_D now. :sly:

What an excellent evening of racing. Super close battles and different pit strategy's gave us an epic race. As usual the full results will be posted tomorrow as now is the time for the podium sitters to celebrate. Champagne time....
