What an excellent evening of racing. Super close battles and different pit strategy's gave us an epic race. As usual the full results will be posted tomorrow as now is the time for the podium sitters to celebrate. Champagne time....

And also celebrations for the thread. 3000 posts. Thank you everyone.👍👍👍

The 3000th post honour had to go to you 👍 and I'm liking the addition of the tracks at the edge of the podium pic 👍👍👍

On another note, before I started racing with all of you here I played host to a small group of friends racing on a monthly basis. Nothing as involved as the Sunday cup, as I wanted it to be accessible to n00b and pro alike.

I would like to extend an invite to you all to join me this coming Friday 3rd May at 20.00 BST, in my lounge for a 30 lap race at cape ring south.

Rules are:
Any road car under 2500cc, no race/race mod/rally/concept/tuner cars allowed.
Tuned to 500pp
No more than 5% use of engine limiter.
Damage set to heavy.
Sports hard tyres.

All aids are allowed, but you will be racing with a couple of people who haven't yet turned them all off, all I ask is that you be reasonable in the use of them. You should be able to walk it anyway

I usually miss things out so please, if you have any questions pm me here or on facebook.
Thanks

Hey guys, I apologize for missing the race last night. I overslept and missed the start by about an hour, my sleeping pattern is not what it should be lately and I'm sorry for missing my third race of the season. I'll try my best to be there for the last two races. Congrats to Hasselmoff for the win last night too 👍

You were missed by me at least. I can sympathize with a screwed up circadian rhythm.

Sounds like you guys had fun.. Looking fwd to see the pics :)

So I am in 2nd place 1 point behind Gary?
At the beginning of lap 7 on the replay on the photos. So the process is underway. I don't think I'm going to get as many as Fuji this time.

You will have to wait until later when the graphics are done. But if you want to work it out beforehand, Gary would have got 13 points for 4th place. Go back and check the standings again.:sly:

Great racing last night! 👍

I had one-stop strategy and it paid out well. But I was lucky... Gary chased me on the last laps and he did his move on the straight and was an inch from passing me but I managed to outbrake him. That together with true sportmanship from Gary - great man! -and tiny better grip on my side made me take place 7. Love this game! :):)

Made a short clip in an effort to show the intense fight.

What a night of racing. Indianapolis gave us a super night of action. The first 14 laps for me were intense, holding onto 5th place in a frantic chase. I had a small battle with Socal during lap 1, but managed to pass him on the pit straight. The leading pack managed to keep together until the first pit stops. I pitted at the end of lap 14, and went onto the medium tyre. The medium stint was fairly action free, and I pitted again at the end of lap 24. This bought me out into a battle with GC, Goodwolf and Rosen. I had a big tyre advantage over these 3, with GC and Goodwolf on worn softs, and Rosen on new mediums. By lap 30 I had passed Rosen, and caught Goodwolf slip on the straight. I managed to hold the position into T1, and got through. Goodwolfs tyres denied him the turn, and he span. A great nights racing, and I was pleased with 5th place, and my biggest haul of points so far this season.

Unfortunately Socal suffered a DC after 8 complete laps. He will recieve half the points he would have got, had he finished in his grid position.

The driver standings have been given a new twist, with Capt.D now leading the championship over Dan by 2 points, and Cobani only 5 points off defending his title. With 2 races to go, and the championship this close at the top, the pressure is really on for the top 3.

Now race 6 is done, its time for the final upgrades. The evolution is complete, and we have turned our Evora's into full on GT enduro racers. See you all at Monza.

The racing this Sunday gone was EPIC and there were many displays of top notch race craft from all.

So without further ado lets see what The Sunday Cup makes of Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

11 line up for a race on a track that is traditionally used for NASCAR

Smooth and steady and we'll all make it through

A change in the lead but everyone is through safely

getting some tow on the back straight

Turn 11 catches out Goodwolf in the early stages

Slipstream can sometimes be a cruel mistress

Or mastered to full effect. You can stop it now Third.

Ade hangs on to the front runners

Slipstream train into turn 8

The lead may have swapped but everyone is still hanging on

Socalspeedfreak

GC255

Goodwolf, Third and GC chasing Jammy

Cobani, Hasslemoff and Hancock chasing Capt D

You don't need to be up front to get close racing in the Sunday Cup

A little further down the straight

At the apex GC wins out and Goodwolf has caught up with the slipstream

Hancock, Cobani and Hasslemoff into turn 7

Hasslemoff

GC's only pitstop fires him out into the leader battle

Goodwolf

Cold tyres into turn 8 lays a smokescreen for Cobani

Hasslemoff's underworked pit crew

GC hangs on to ADE for a while

Could've made a move here but decided to look after my tyres instead

Ade Moves in on Rosen

And later leaves Goodwolf in his wake

Third at the apex of turn 10

Turn 11 catches out GC

Rosen escapes his shadow on the final lap

Great pics Gary 👍 And yes, the racing was epic. I had fantastic battles with Adam on both our stints of soft and medium tyres.

Some more pics from my perspective.

Congratulations to Hassle for his win, and to Adam and Bo for podiums. 👍

some very nice work there Gary. If the standards keep increasing like this I'm going to find myself out classed again 👍

I like how tight it is now for the top 3  I'm gonna need lots of practice at Monza as I've only ran it in A spec.. Suzuka on the other hand, I ran a few laps there back in Prologue.

👍

Had a proper look a both Gary,s pics now. Awesome reminder of an awesome race. Thanks Gary's. I will try to capture some myself tomorrow. As Dan has mentioned, its so close at the top for the championship now. But also through the midfield there are places to fight for in the last 2 races of

👍👍👍

Also, as we have had a few drivers retire this season, I have revised the prize package. All active drivers will now receive a Lotus lanyard for their participation. Thanks guys for making this series what it is.

Wow what awesome pictures have been posted, amazing! Really enjoyed looking through them, well done Gary's!!

I especially liked the 3 wide down the finishing straight, super close racing in the pack!

Considering my lack of practice, I really enjoyed the race and had some close battles at different times. I just didn't think about my strategy enough, but having looked at the lap times it was good to see that I was mixing it with at least two others on raw pace which is heartening.

Cant wait for the next race!

That's fab about the Lotus lanyards Ade! I will use mine at work :)

Great pictures Gary's 👍👍👍

Great race the first 18 laps were intenese, with just letting everyone else in front battle :sly:, I had no idea how long the softs would last and thought the race was 32 laps :dunce: so got a bit lucky with the one stop.

Great drivin by all 👍👍👍.

Sorry to Gary (CTR) for the bump when you came out of the pits just after your picture I didnt relize you were right beside me till it was to late.

Again  all.

Thankyou, and no problem about the bump, I was going down the pit lane thinking will I or won't I get out in front. But it's all in a days Sunday cup race 👍

OK racers, I didnt get a chance to do any race pics yet, that may have to wait until early next week. But they will come. On Friday GC Gary will be hosting a race event at Cape ring south (30 laps) from 8.00pm. The specs are as follows....

Rules are:
Any road car under 2500cc, no race/race mod/rally/concept/tuner cars allowed.
Tuned to 500pp
No more than 5% use of engine limiter.
Damage set to heavy.
Sports hard tyres.

This event will also be with some of Gary's online racing friends, so driving aids are allowed, although they dont have to be used.

I will be supporting Gary in this event, as his support for SC has been awesome.

Afterwards I think we may have time for a bit of Monza practice with the new upgrades.

I know alexr80 likes monza, if I can get him set up with a v4 spec evora and he's willing, would he be allowed to join in the Sunday cup practice?

Fuelmyfire
I'd love to join in on Friday if that's ok? My online racing has been kinda lacking since CORE ended...

Sure, if your on about my event 👍
It's A LOT more casual (read slower drivers) than core, but you are welcome to join in.

Yes mate, the more the merrier.

Yeah man your race :). A race with good folk is all I'm after, and I know I'll get that :)

Be good to race you again fuel.👍👍 Hopefully you can hang about for some laps at Monza in the Evora.

On another note, Saturday is my wedding anniversary, and I may struggle to get online if the Mrs has plans. If I can I will let you know on the day. I will therefore be running a practice session on Sunday evening consisting of 2x10 lap races at Monza to get the extra track time in. The room will be open from 8.00pm for a few short races, with the 10 lappers starting at 8.30pm. Hope to see a few on the grid for that.👍👍👍
