I might get chance to pop in and run some laps with you. I cant miss this little car around trial mountain even though i cant make tomorrow.
 
I may be able to hop in the practice lounge today, see you all there!
 
Great practice tonight. 8 in attendance and we learnt alot. Mistakes are going to be very costly here, with no run offs, even the slightest mistake will loose you places. The pit exit is nothing short of dangerous! When leaving the pits please use extreme caution as you will be put straight out onto the track just before the first tunnel. There is no pit exit lane! Try to keep to the left if there are cars coming up behind, and use your mirrors. This is important as there will probably be multiple pit stops in the race. The combination of the increase in power, the softer tyre and this bumpy mountain track is going to use the tyres up faster than usual.

JIMFTR is tomorrows pace setter, and there was 1 replay I did not save from tonights practice. Jims fastest lap was a 1:25.xxx, and was probably on the replay that I didnt save.

Nice to see i have some decent lap times, but hopefully i can keep good pace during the race and not destroy my tires.

And we haven't seen cobani or Dan yet, i'm assuming their pace is very fast indeed.

I haven't driven a single mile on the track yet! :ouch: I hope to have the pace to be a podium contender. With you guys talking about the tyre wear and bumps I am hoping to get some time in today and attend the race as well.
My suspension can't get much softer then it is, so I won't have to spend time on the set up. 👍 (I hope) :scared:

I'd rather race well and be content with myself then fast and not haven the sadisfaction of a great race C. ! 👍
 
Looking forward to the race.. I haven't ran any laps at all in like a week.. :scared: I have just set up the WSP and plan to get some laps in at some point today.. 👍
 
I am expecting to see some superb midfield battles tonight after last nights short races. If the front runners manage to get a break away from the pack there should also be some great action up at the front. There is only one place on this track to get some slip stream, and thats the long downhill straight before the sweeping left hander through the trees.

PS: Be careful coming out of the pits! That is daaangerous.

You should have said something. You can't play wireless online. It's a bad idea. :(
 
That really was epic.. :) After all the trouble getting going I set a really good lap (1'28.0xx) in quali and held onto pole right until the last minute until Cobani and maybe Jamesy pipped me in the last few seconds.. :ouch:

Then when the race started there was only me on the grid. :dunce: So we then had another short quali and I messed up all my laps and started 4th..

I made a good start and got past Rosenlundaren and with Cobani and Jamesy not far ahead.. Jamesy span it as entered the tunnel which saw me in 2nd with Cobani a few seconds up the road.

He was on the soft tyre with me on the medium so the gap grew but I was confident that I could catch him after the pits.. I span it on lap 11 or 12 still on the hard tyre which cost me about 6 seconds to Cobani..
Pitted and got onto the soft tyre and started to close the gap..
After Cobani pitted Jamesy was in 2nd and about 5 seconds away.. I opened up the gap to about 8 seconds at one point but was worried to take too much from the tyres, so slowed my pace a bit and the gap floated around 6-7 secs until the last lap where Jamesy had another spin but managed to hold onto 2nd place still 👍

Great race tonight on probably my Favourite of GT5's tracks really enjoyed it.

When I got disconnected and came back in for the qualifying I forgot to check my car and tyres and by the time I thought of it the race had started. So there was a chance my car didn't have the new upgrades and was therefore 20hp down, and I was back on mediums. As it turns out I was on mediums but i had no idea, I just thought I was down 20hp and was on softs. So I went like a bat out of hell, all attack and everything was going well... ish. I was in 5th and setting 1:30:xxx which was making me more and more frustrated as i couldd'nt figure out how i lost 2 seconds of pace. So the inevitable happened, on lap 7 as I was pushing to catch Rosen, I lost it at 125mph before the first tunnel up the hill and lost about 8 seconds.

Because I had no idea what tyres I was on, I had made the decision to pit on lap 13 just to be safe. But the accident had ruined my tyres and I was making silly mistakes so I lost a further 4 seconds before i threw in the towel and pitted on lap 11.

This was when i found out I was on Mediums the whole time, so i threw on the softs and came out in 11th, right behind Trotter and Cobrius. Trotter lost control almost immediately after i came around the first corner so I was free to chase Cobrius. I had calmed down since I now knew what my pace problem was and was almost instantly faster, within 2 laps i had set 1:27:089 and a few other laps within a few tenths of that before I caught Cobrius. I pulled away from him a bit and had some breathing space to set consistent times and pass people while they were in the pits. I was ecstatic that i managed to leapfrog Rosen and Socal who had passed me before i pitted to I kept the power on and hoped for the best.

By the last 3 laps I had hauled alot of time back on Cobani and I presume Jamesy but Cobrius was at the same time dragging me back. My tyres were ruined and, like i said before i left the room, I nearly wrecked my car when I seen Cobani's name pop up in front of me.

In the end I'm very happy with my 5th place but gutted at the missed opportunity as if i had known what tyres I was on, I could've turned my impromtu stradegy work and get a podium. Great racing tonight guys I loved every minute of it 👍
 
Well I am pleased that ones done. Trial mountain seemed grueling, but the racing was superb. I did forget to set the race timer to 3 minutes, and I am sorry about that. With the internet giving us a headache again tonight with connections, we still had 12 starters. Well done everyone for persevering with it. Well done to Goodwolf for 2nd place. Here is the Podium.......Congratulations.

After just chatting to Ade, he tells me Goodwolf finished 2nd.. I couldn't see him in the race :lol: Good work man 👍

Big C.. I noticed you are using auto.. You should try using manual gears.. Will take some time to adjust but once you get used to it you will have better control of the car, and be faster 👍

Wow thats great. I had 60% at best. So a friend said it's better to use hard connection anyway.
 
Lol, sorry i missed the race guys, but i'm at uni now so going out clubbing takes first priority haha! :D

It's funny though, i used a wireless connection at home and it worked fine for all races, and i'm now on a wired connection, the ping is way way better but apart from that it's basically the same.

Wireless here, never have issues, it's more to do with server side, like last night, delays and DC's ahoy - finally got me - "Room incompatible" error reared it's head, by this time unfortunately if I could have signed back in the race delays would have pushed the main race back too late for me to complete, early starts on Mondays :indiff:

The connection issues were a pain last night, and pushed race start back to 9.00pm. I dont like having to delay, but when drivers are trying so hard to get into the lobby, its only fair to give them a bit more time. I bet Goowolf is glad we waited.👍 We abandoned 1 start when Omnius, Goodwolf and Happy DCd when the countdown started, then held a 5 minute qualifyer before starting the race with 12 on the grid, but unfortunately lost Happy quite early on. The last race that had problems like this was 4 weeks ago. Maybe the internet was overloaded by the Olympic and Paralympic closing ceremony's, who knows? Next race I will open the lobby a bit earlier. Race results will be posted this evening when I have updated all the tables.

Even though I didn’t have any close battles I still was sweaty until the last lap.

When it was decided to re-start with a short qualify, I saw a chance of starting upfront in the grid as it seemed like many started on mediums, I pushed it and got a good place in the grid. Of course I was passed immediately by some but then I had a free track almost all the race. That made it possible for me to regulate my pace.

I had plans on making two pitstops. Start on soft, shift to medium after 7-8 laps, do the 7 laps on mediums and then switch to softs for the last laps. But the softs were hanging in there quite well, so I re-planned and had the softs on for 17 laps. That was one lap too much because I spun out on in the beginning of the starting straight and lost seconds and the tires were now really torn. In to the pit to switch and it turned out that that incident made me lost a position Socal… :( but I still had Ade behind me. :) The last laps on mediums I watched my back and held my position.

I think the tire regulation is very exciting! 👍 I went on for 17 laps without knowing how fast I was going. Well, you can see how off you are o the leader but it’s hard to tell how close you are the nearest drivers. And then, at the pit stop you see how your tactics has turned out. Looking forward to the next race! :)

Had the day off, so I managed to update all the tables this afternoon. But not wanting to break from tradition, I am going to make you all wait until this evening before I post them.:sly: That means that I will have a free evening to take some pictures from last nights epic race.👍
