Good little impromptu practice tonight with Rosen and Goodwolf. We were also joined by RhinoAfrica for a few laps. My best time was 2:06.550 using the same set up as Trial Mountain. I was getting about 7 or 8 laps on the softs before the tyres started going off, so 15 laps may be tough.
 
As my best lap was 2.09.6xx I know what I have to do this week - practice!

I find the track hard to master. It seems to be so many key turns! :scared: :crazy: T2, T3, T4, Dunlop-Kehre, Michael S...

And I think I'm loosing about a sec in the Veedol!! :banghead:
 
Saturday will be short race practice at 8.00pm as usual before Sundays race #6. But for anyone who has a free hour tomorrow at 12.00pm (midday), Dan and myself will be having a a full 20 lap mock race session to test pit strategy's, tyre wear etc. Please feel free to join if you are about. I know a lot of you will be at work, but we have got a day off.:sly:

I like the sound of these 3 points..

*Now possible to select “Disable collisions” in the [Event Settings] of online races.

*Adjusted the changes in control characteristic when altering vehicle height from standard height. (Vehicle height can be changed by adjusting ride height, either by installing a suspension kit or adjusting a full customizable suspension kit.)

*Response of the clutch pedal when using the steering wheel controllers “G25 Racing Wheel”, “G27 Racing Wheel”, “T500RS” and “TH8RS” has been adjusted.

What a luxury! :lol: I can't join, but yes I want to! 👍 Maybe, just maybe I might be around to turn the system on and watch the spectacle, but no racing for me.
 
Among corrections that Dan posted I like this one too:

Amount of air resistance change when altering aerodynamic wing settings has been increased.

Yes but it's good if you want a quick race in a public lobby with strangers.


Off topic:

Guys I'm a licensed member of racedepartment.com and we have a small GT5 community. Only few people race on regular basis so I talked with the staff member there about your series and your clean driving. He was thrilled to hear about your race craft and so you're all invited to join the upcoming GT500 league, of course only if you want to I won't pressure you.

The only downside for some of you might be that you have to become a licensed member and this means that you have to use your real name to race in league or club events.
So look at the links and if your OK with the rules and everything join and be free to ask me for help, info or anything else.

There will be five rounds taking place every Sunday between 4th November and 2nd December. Practice session will start at 20:00GMT in open lobby.

After this championship there is another one on the way with Clio v6 plus you can join any other club or league using PS3, Xbox and PC sims like Race 07, GT Legends, RBR, rFactor, F1 etc. so it's not like your going to be joining just to have five races.

Just ran 5 laps on each tyre.. Did a 2'07.6xx on the med and a 2'04.045 with the soft.. I would think I can still trim some time off :)

I thought you did a 2'05?? I just ran a few more on the med tyre and down to a 07.293.. followed by a .296 and a .390.. :)

No 2.06.550 was my best from the other night. I reckon I can trim a second or so off that.

Good full 20 lap practice race, well pleased with my 2nd place :lol: My best on the softs was 2:06.8xx and Dans was a 2:04.6xx. Medium time for me was 2:09.5xx, and Dans was 2:06.9xx. I started on the soft, but by lap 13 was loosing too much time, so changed to the medium. Dan started on the medium, and managed 15 laps from his soft tyres.

New fastest lap... 2'03.767.. As that was done with an almost full tank I would say there is still a good chance to knock a few tenths off :)

Short race practice tonight at 8.00pm may tell us if anyone can match Dan the aliens time of 2'03.767. Not too sure where I can find 3 seconds from, but I know that I am losing a bit at Michelin curve, because I keep missing my breaking point and going in too deep. More practice is needed.
 
I might be able to show up on Sunday (finally). A few laps on Nurb GP showed: My rear end is about twice as fast as I am going through almost any turn. Especially on the dunlop loop.

I need massive help on the suspension settings for this car.

My base set up is as follows.

height fr -20, rr -10
spring fr 5.5, rr 7.5
dam ext fr 4, rr 7
comp fr fr 4, rr 7
ARB fr 3, rr 3

cam fr-1.8, rr-2.0
toe fr-0.20, rr+0.05

I find this set up to be quite stable, and only really adjust the ride height and transmission depending on the track. I could be quicker with it, if only I could get every turn right. We have found that the front end of the Elise can become very loose, and can cause a loss of grip going into a turn close behind another car.:scared:
 
My tune is largely based on Ades.. But I run -0.01/0.02 Toe and 2.0/1.5 Camber F-R 👍
 
I've been running the same setup all season, and Dan, you mentioned your fast lap was set on a full tank, maybe it's just me but i've never noticed a difference in times with a low fuel load compared to a high fuel load..

Interesting.. I find there is definitely a difference.. I will do a run later and confirm it. :)

2nd lap out I did a 2'03.707, I then did 8 laps and got a new set of soft tyres and didn't add any fuel (11 litres used).. 2nd flying lap and I was 2.79 up in T2 but didn't nail the chicane but still improved the lap to 2'03.602.. 👍

Practice tonight saw 5 of us over 3 short races. 2 on the soft tyre, 1 on the medium. Dan and Dowlin only took part in 1 soft tyre race each.

Soft tyre. Race 1 and 3.

Although Jamesbograt has the fastest time on the softs, Dan did set a 2:03.xxx in free run, and set a ridiculously quick time on the mediums. Both Dan and Jamesy are the pace setters this week. Hopefully with the return of Jimftr, and Third_reign making his Sunday Cup debut we will have a very busy grid again. 👍👍👍

Was good fun in the practice races.. I think it will be a tight run race with several battles taking place throughout the field.. Looking forward to the race tonight. 👍

Thats just 5 miles down the A11 from me. Bit of a dive though, so your probably better off drinking it where you are,:lol:

Looking forward to tonights race at Nurb GP/F. After last nights practice, I think we are in for a good race. The front runners will be very close, and without knowing Jimftr, Goodwolf, Hasslemoff and Third_reigns pace who knows how it will unfold. Just remember that the use of the run offs is not permitted. I will be opening the room earlier than usual, just in case we get the connection issue's again. Qualifying and race start times will remain the same, but the room will be open from 7.30pm BST.

I've just ran a few laps and getting 06's on the softs and 09's on the mediums, I have no idea how long the tyres will last, so will just do that on the fly tonight.
I should be there tonight might try and get on a bit earlier to try and find out how long my tyres will last.

Dan and myself ran a mock full length race on Friday. I managed 13 laps on the soft, Dan managed 15, so a one stopper should be OK for most.
