Well, that was fun :) Great race tonight guys and awesome sportmanship throughout the field I appreciate it hugely 👍 I had great battles through the whole race and even enjoyed a little tussle with one or two people I was lapping  I'm delighted to have gotten a podium in our first race in the Evora's, fantastic car. My one in particular seemed to adjust moving from CORE to The Sunday Cup very nicely.

The only thing that was weird about the race tonight though was my tyre situation. As some of you may have heard during the race when I was talking to Ade, I qualified on the Hard tyres and therefore started the race on Hards. But they were extremely quick, too quick for hards as my fastest lap on them was a 1:00:1xx. I've checked the replay since and it does say I was on Hards but obviously the game got confused or something. Anyway I went onto a set of Mediums and set a slightly faster 1:00:1xx and then some REAL Hards and the best I managed with those was a 1:01:2xx.

All in all, a great evenings racing and I'm glad you enjoyed Cobani's little tribute race. I certainly enjoyed being a part of it 👍

EDIT: also no problem Jammy, It's happened to me before so I knew it wasn't your fault 👍

Shame I missed the race, well done to to the podium finishers. Cool job by cobani with the blue and yellow scheme. Hope to see you guys for the next tace .

Great racing Gentlemen, a particularly good early battle with socalspeedfreak kept us focused!

Well done to the pace setters up-front for their podium finishes. 👍

Nice to have you join Cpt!! I watched the video and may have been a little aggresive so my apologies! Always a good time with this group and at least I made the podium in the tribute race!! :dopey:

Pleased I got in the Tribute race - miffed that I got the dreaded loading bar when returning to the lounge then after waiting hoping for it to clear, I got disconnected!

Then after 3 reboots of my router to try and sign in I was only syncing at a 3rd of what I should have been getting  so with that and the fact I was starting my new job today, I had to sit this one out :indiff:

Not to worry, I'm sure it was a good race! (If anyone has the replay for the tribute race, stick it on Dropbox or whatever cloud you use, pretty please  )

Well Sunday Cuppers, I hope that you all enjoyed the new S3 car. Last nights race was fantastic. I started my race in 11th place on the hard tyre, and planned to pit on lap 28, and then do 2 30 lap stints on the medium, but I was also a victim to the temperamental pit entry at Tsukuba, and was spat out back onto the track. So I slowed down to 60 before trying again on the next lap. That seemed to work out OK. I enjoyed several battles last night, in particular with Hasslemoff at the beginning of the race, and also at the end. We did have some small contact just as Dan was about to lap us, but Hasslemoff waited for me to retake position after the spin. 👍 Later in the race on the mediums I had managed to work my way through the field into 7th place. I could see hasslemoff ahead of me, in amongst Cobani, Dowlin, Cap_D, Socal, who were all on the hard tyre. The racing was intense, and in the end I saw Hasslemoff go off the track, and I moved into 6th. I was pleased with that from starting 11th.

I would also like to welcome the newcomers to SC. I hope you enjoyed your first Sunday Cup race. ( I know that Hancock and Jammy both had pit entry problems, please dont let that put you off. )

Here are last nights Tsukuba results....

Now, would anyone like to see the race calendar for S3?

I really enjoyed it thanks Ade :-)

It was my own lack of preparation that scuppered my chances of a half decent result (by that I mean somewhere possibly a little higher in the bottom half but that would have been great). But I really enjoyed the first half of the race having some good battles. My race seriously unfolded with my pit stop debacles but I loved the Evora to drive, very rewarding even with the underdeveloped setup that mine had on!

Thanks for letting me take part in the special event, what a great bunch of racers :-)

:tup:Great race everyone, thanks Ade. I was like:scared: when my car got bump by you haha

Nice tribute race Cobani!

Also great battle with Jammy_rex and Rosenlundaren :) I will work on my driving lines.

Need to set up my wheel as my thumbs are still sore from the D pad 👎👎

Tracks are selected carefully so that there are different circuits from one season to the next. Trial mountain and Deep forest were used in S2. I still have 3 Evoras shared in GT5, each at the different stage of tuning. So why not give them a try around the tracks they were tuned for and see what you think. I am sure you wont be disappointed.

Hmmm, not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean the way the car is tuned engine and weight wise, or the way my shared Evora's suspension is set up? There are 3 Evoras shared, each at the different level of tuning. Take a look at the OP, and see the graphics for Race 3&4, race 5&6 and race 7&8, and then look at the calender and try the shared Evora's at the respective tracks.

The suspension and transmission tuning is up to you to do, and if the shared Evora's dont feel right to you, then I suggest you try a set up thats preferable to your driving style.

Lots of time went into testing the cars at the different stages of tuning we will be seeing every 2 races, and the cars were tested on their respective tracks with these tunes. They all worked very well. I even asked a couple of fellow Sunday Cuppers to assist me, to ensure I had got it right before posting the details of S3.

If its the update you are concerned about, the Tsukuba race proved that the car is very good to drive on a short, tight track with very tight turns. If you had of come along you would have seen this for yourself.

So far you havnt been happy with being a reserve, you have been disappointed with the track selection, and your not sure that the car will work. If thats the case, then maybe this series isnt for you. If it isnt the case then I suggest you stop worrying and let me get on with it.

In the words of Kimi Raikkonen, "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing"

No, i ment only on suspension, becouse if you done testing before update ,now, after 2.09, could be some diferents in car handling.Thats all.
Didn't ment to argue, and sorry if I sound annoying.
My english isn't that good and sometime I express myself wrong.
And I know you are doing good job, no doubt in that.

Or as my old boss used to say...."If you don't like it, get your coat and f@*&off!"

Cool beans mate. Didnt mean to sound blunt, but I have been doing this for a year now, and I think that the amount of racers that have returned after 2 seasons shows that a lot of planning goes in before hand to make sure its right. Hopefully you can join us for the next special event in December, and you can see how good SC is.👍👍

You would think so.. But this is PD we are talking about  I also had my Evora setup before the update and it doesn't drive any different now after 2.09.. 👍

Not sure about this, maybe depends on a car.In gt500 that I curently drive, my car felt diferent and I had to use different setup:odd:

Sorry about that Ade.

I had a fun race, made a few mistakes one on the first lap last corner trying to push thoose cold hard tires, getting a drive through penalty when I tried to avoid someone when I braked to late and clipped the inside of the grass in the last corner and it put in the pits on lap 33 :grumpy: and also had a bump with Ade, my fault so I sat and waited for him while he did a 3 point turn slower than a learner driver :nervous::).

I went for a 1 stop and pitted on lap 50 and went onto the mediums, could of worked but to many mistakes, but all in all a great race with some good close clean racing.

Enjoyed watching Cobani and Dowlin battling for 2nd while following them round the track near the end, I was tempted to make a pass but thought it best not to :sly:.

Slower than Grandpa learning how to do a 3 point turn you mean,:sly::lol::lol::lol:

Off topic...... but as well as The Sunday Cup, earlier in the year I ran another small series called Mini Madness. It was run every 4 weeks for 6 events and was a lot of fun. On Sat 24th November there will be one final Mini Madness event before I put the Mini in the garage for good. There are only 5 grid places left, so if any of you wish to take part, please follow this link and post in the thread. (I know some of you already have)

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=239558

Sorry for this shameless plug of my other series, but I would love to end it with a full grid.:sly:

Cheers Jon, thanks for your encouraging words. Was good of you to drop in for the tribute race on Sunday. 👍👍👍

I'm so glad I caught it, and then I was scrambling for the camera to only realise that I had left it in my car. I would have so loved to have captured it on video. Your worth it...... the tribute that is :)

Was just looking at my Evora and noticed that it was down to 334bhp.. An oil change took it up 351bhp.. 401.1 miles on it already :D

Mine was down to 333BHP after the Tsukuba special. I have covered about 370 miles so far. Will be interesting to see the mileage at the end of the championship, as all the races are slightly longer than S1 and S2. We also have another Special event to do, more details of that will be posted late next week.

Thank you all again for the tribute race, I still feel quite humbled from it. For those who missed it, heres the video.
