I'm currently online in a lobby at sarthe, feel free to join me if you want to have a drive around and stuff.

OK, my previous time was offline so it doesn't count, my online time is a 4:04.470

Set this time in my lounge online.

Gonna try out the soft tyres soon.

*EDIT* fastest time on sports soft is 4:08.748, I reckon a good quali lap on these tyres for me is 4:07.9xx at best to be honest.

Those are fast times Jim. I wont get a chance to try again tonight, as I will be out till 9.30. May well get some time tomorrow to have a few runs. Friday is the 2 hr Enduro race at Suzuka in Core GT, and Saturday is the last ever Mini Madness, so wont get much time over the weekend. Maybe Sunday evening I will run a few laps if anyone wants a bit of early prep for this race, I will open a lobby.

So.. I finally got around to building another car to the specs and trying a lap.. And it's as I thought it isn't for me.. I don't enjoy the track. Have fun guys and I will see ya in the next one 👍

Great Captain, you are penciled in, and added to the reserve list for S3. If you could find the time to do a podium picture that would be great.

Will be cool to see you in the enduro race roh. 👍

Shame hyper Dan can't make it, I think the track is awesome to drive on tbh, the great thing is that its unpredictable and anyone can win, due to the length of the race and the mistakes people might make. The drafting on lap one is going to be interesting for sure. :)

Looking forward to it Jim 👍 Had hoped to get in on the S3 season too but will have to hope for a dropout. Been trying to get onto GT most days recently, will any of you guys be on tonight for some evora action?

Confirming my attendance in the enduro too by the way Ade. Little daunting the 24 laps but can't wait for the challenge! I'll build my cars when I get home :D

Some of us are running the Core GT enduro tonight Capt. Check Omnius thread for details. I believe there are some places available.

I won't be able to make the Enduro, cause I'll be doing a bit of Marlin fishing in the Gulf of Thailand that weekend :):). I'd normally be a bit gutted to miss a bit of sunday night racing.

Thats OK Hassle, have fun with the fast fish:tup:👍 Thanks for letting me know.

I was thinking just now about the SC3 season and was wondering about tyres. Just a suggestion but would it be better to start on comforts opposed to sports? The transformation from road to race car would be that more dramatic and the difference in grip between each race much more progressive and 'evolving'. Just a thought. :)

Anyway is there a CORE event tonight or will you guys be practicing in the evora? Maybe after GP quali or early evening?

The tyre choice was made that way because the Evora S comes with Pirelli P Zero tyres in real life, so I wanted to replicate that as near as I could. Also to keep the racing a bit closer. I didnt want to go anything higher than RH for the last 2 races, so opted for 4 races on the SM/SS for the middle 4 races.

There isnt Core event tonight, but if you fancy a bit of fun I am hosting the last ever mini madness at 8.00 pm. Classic mini racing at Autumn ring mini. 11 on the grid so far. Link is in my sig.

Yeah Buddy. The car does feel so good at GV. Plenty of time to get in some practice and get those lap times down. Early runs I have done a 2:06.895, but I know that The Aliens will shred that time. After tonights Mini Madness race I will mainly be concentrating on The 24 laps of Le mans Enduro, with a few laps of GV here and there aswell. 👍👍

Other news. I have created a Twitter account for The Sunday Cup ready for S3. This will be used much in the same way as the Facebook page with upcoming race details, results and pictures being tweeted during the season. So if you use Twitter find The Sunday Cup page and become a follower. Check out the screenprint below. The Sunday Cup already has a very important follower, as "Lotus Cars Official Twitter page" are following us.

Oh I get ya.. Makes sense to start on the S1's in that respect then. Can't help but feel the transition won't be as noticeable though. Especially since you'll be on the final tyres from race 3. Just my two cents :) I probably won't even get to race in it!

Cheers for the invite to mini madness but I wouldn't want to join a season finale. I'd want to stay out of the way and wouldn't really end up racing. I'd be up for le sarthe practice though. Shoot me a message if you or anyone else is up for the practice 👍

The progression is very evident as we upgrade the power and trim the weight. Races 3 and 4 will see the addition of drive train parts and the addition of Aero parts for races 6 and 7 also make the car feel more like a race car, and with the biggest ramp up in power for the last 2 races the transition is complete. The Evora for races 7 and 8 is a beast. I have 2 Evoras shared on GT5 at the moment. These cars have the specs for races 3 and 4, and 5 and 6. Feel free to give them a spin. They are the test cars I used when planning the laps for each race.

Mini Madness isnt a finale, its just a one off special from a series I ran earlier in the year. No points, no prizes, just fun. I may well have an Evora practice after that has finished.👍

I forgot about literally almost everything but the tyres! Please ignore lol :D

Looking forward to giving my cars a spin, I love le Sarthe, getting the car dialed in should be a real challenge in itself!

Yeah its gonna be a challenging race. Jimftr has managed a 4:04, and I am well off that at the moment. I need to learn where I can be braver and keep the power on, but that will come over the next few weeks.

To be honest I'm kind of worried about being off the pace as well. Not necessarily due entirely to talent but because I'm just such a horrible tuner lol! I have my apex book to help me but there are so many factors I just don't know where to start. It also doesn't help that I consider one of my better strengths to be that of adaptability. I don't really think about how the car can be better, rather how I can drive it different to go faster. If anyone has any tips to get going I'd appreciate it greatly. I guess driving it completely stock for a while then trying to dial out the less favourable characteristics is the way to go. Sat here it seems like tuning every individual aspect one by one could be a real bore! :p

You are fast man. Don't worry, if you want a setup just use the one i found on the internet.

Well, an impromtu practice session after mini madness was great fun. We learnt a lot. There is a lot of work to be done on set ups. Capt Roh and Dowlin showed some great pace at Le Sarthe. We only practiced tonight on the RH tyre, and I got my time down to a 4:11.xxx. Still a long way to go, but we have 3 weeks before this race. A big welcome goes to Fuelmyfire who will be joining us for this Enduro as well as Jammrex and Capt Roh. All three will be on the reserve list for S3, and they are keen to race as well as Petros. So everyone on the registered list will need to be completely commited to S3 to keep their booked positions. Remember there are real prizes on offer for this including Cobani's house and shoes.

Yeah had a blast last night. First race with Dowlin was great fun starting at the front. Got put out of the next two though, on the receiving end of a little bump and grind :p I should of played some more black ops last night, at least there I'm used to people trying to kill me! Haha :D I'm aware these practice sessions are a bit of fun, but it wouldn't hurt to employ a zero contact rule there just to get everyone in the right mind set. Especially newcomers. We spoke about penalties too, may be an idea to run those in practice if not necessarily the race to focus everyone on a clean lap at le sarthe too. Looking forward to it in any case, love the track and the car is a little rocket! Lots of fun 👍

That time will tumble too. I did a bit of work on my setup this morning and with a very scruffy sector 1 and an excursion to the grass in Arnage I also managed a 4.04. I'm guessing a perfect lap could yield a sub 4 minute personally. Maybe only in a tow though. There's a lot of corners to get absolutely right! I don't think any of my 24 laps in December will be the same lol :)

Glad you enjoyed it. This first practice was a little rough here and there, agreed. It was our first time out in the fully specced Evora, and I did have a struggle with braking points when in draft. At first it was the first chicane on Mulsanne, then the second, then the right hander at the end. But this was a learning session for most of us, so next time should be a bit less bumpy. It may be an idea to use full damage for the next practice, so everyone is a bit more cautious of contact. If I get time after F1 I will run a few more laps, and if anyone wants a more dedicated practice session, then I am open to suggestions for next weekend.
