ROCKET ROSENLUNDAREN gets a special mention for his time set on the hard tyres. Faster than his medium tyre time, and 3rd fastest set on the hard compound.

Pure luck on my side, I was probably following someone faster. :)

Or forgot to switch the medium tyres. :O ;)

Anyways, thanks for the practice session. I havent been able to get into my simrig for some weeks due to work, holidays and renovation at home, but now the simrig has its place! I have put it in a small room in the attic and as a Christmas gift I bought myself a monitor so now there is no competition for the tv-set. I will update the simrig thread soon - if I can squeeze in a camera, because it's a very small room. :)

As a reserve I will be standing by. 👍

I'm going to have to pull out, still very much under the weather. I don't want to have to drop out halfway through and deny someone a spot.

Have fun tonight lads 👍

I'm sorry but I won't be racing tonight.

In race 2, I also managed to pull off the maneuver, now known as the JAMMYR, No Ade's were harmed in this, but Cobrius and Rosen had a good laugh.

Lol! Deja vu!! Glad to hear you survived the JAMMYR incident intact! ;)

Hi guys. Just letting you know it still looks like I'll be able to race tonight. Bit worries about being on pace though, I've only driven 4 or 5 laps with Ade and Cobani. That was last year, and the last time I drove in GT5 :s

Wouldn't normally ask but if anyone could point me in the direction of a soft tune I'd appreciate it. I got into 22's with stock setup but that looks like being 1-2 seconds off in one lap!

I still have a stiff setup and a soft setup to decide on tonight, but if you keep it stock and go for a -20 / -15 rightheight, a 21 should be doable. If you want to go to Warp-speed, just follow Dan and Petros. :boggled:.

To be honest, for me tracktime seems to give more laptime then setup. I have 2 totally different setups and only a tenth in them :dunce:, race you tonight!

My set up is quite stiff, going for -22 fr, -17 rear ride height. I had set my toe settings to 0.00 front and rear, but reverted back to -0.15 fr, +0.05 rear. camber at 1.8 fr, 2.0 rear. dampers set at 4 fr, 7 rear for both and arb both at 3. I am sure I can get into the 21s with this set up, I just didnt manage it in the 2 races on the med we had last night.

...and so it begins :D

Petros
Agree with this.
Captain Roh I sent you a tune on PM

I'm struggling with my setup.... The other day I managed a 1.21.7 on softs but the next practice session I had I could only manage 1.22.8 then yesterday I couldn't get out not the 23's! Really confused as I can't see how I'm losing so much time!

Petros, do you think you would be kind enough to send me the tune that you gave to Captain Roh to assist me with my tuning issues?

I can share mine, Its good for a 23.9 on hards.

Height -15 -5
Springs 9.2 12.6
DampEx 5 7
DampComp 4 6
ARB 4 3

Camber 2.0 2.3
Toe 0.0 +0.15

Thanks both, I managed to get back into the 22s but will try your suggestions before the race if I get the chance :)

Crapped it guys :( Stuck on the road behind a massive tailback. Can't turn round just say here! Must of been a crash up ahead and I know I won't make it. Gutted! Sorry for short notice Ade, and cheers for the tune petros very nice of you 👍

Disconected!!
I had problem when i tryed to log in so I was ready for this,sadly...
At start I had lag and frame rate issue, and I made a mess in first corner by hitting Dan.I waited for him to pass in front but saw some smoke at back.
First few laps I mannaged to fallow him but later I made few tiny mistakes and he got away from slipstrem.I decided to try save my tires and was suprised when I saw him pitting early. My stratrgie was to stay on medium tires until my lap times start to go over 1.23.After 25 laps I was suprised that I could pull off under 1.22...
But Dan was cutting time fast lap by lap,so who now how the race could finish:indiff:
Too bad, I was really looking foward to this race.
Congratulationd on great Q time Dan:tup:

Real shame you got disconnected :( I was really enjoying our battle and was worried that you could pull off the one stop.. Those first laps were awesome.. You had me sweating :)

Great combo Ade.. Thanks as always for your efforts..

Well what a race to start the new year. 12 starters in the end, and we lost 3 along the way. Dan was sweating, and I know I was come the closing stages. I was pleased with my race starting 11th on the grid, on hard tyres, and finishing 5th, but that's another story for another night. Usual grid and results will be posted tomorrow. Tonight is about the podium, and congratulations to the victors. Champagne time for you guys.👍👍👍

Had a lot of fun all 50 laps gentlemen.

The different stategies were brilliant, 👍, and the Evora really is a joy to drive!

Well done to Dan and Gary for the podium  and a shame about your connection issues Petros :yuck:

Thanks Ade for organising this, all the time you put into this really shows off! 👍

Thanks for the racing last night chaps, fantastic fun :) really enjoyed driving the car and track and the different tactics people were using made for a compelling race.

I got a great start which propelled me from 5th to 3rd at the first corner, which I managed to hold onto for over half the race, having some great battles to defend the position along the way.

Unfortunately a couple of mistakes/offs as I was struggling with my mediums cost me a shot at 3rd or 4th and I eventually finished 6th,but those last few laps battling with Ade and Sholesy as our differing strategies culminated in us being pretty much together over the last laps but with me struggling on worn hards whilst the guys I was battling were on fresher mediums. Cracking! Then Sholesy went off at the last corner on the penultimate lap, and I went off in sympathy clattering him for good measure, allowing Ade to nip through and claim the 5th position we were all fighting over!

Thanks again Ade for your efforts in bringing together such great ingredients for a cracking race :)

To start with, as has already been said, a big thanks to Ade for his time and effort in organising these events 👍 It gives us all something to aim for.

Great race for me with first half battles, but a lonelier second half with no trauma. I had no tyre strategy planned, it evoved as the race progressed and I managed to get away with one pit stop :)

Unfortunate that Petros was disconnected, giving all but Dan a one place promotion. Well done to Dan on his emphatic victory.

Just checked the replay from last night and noticed my car had a different sound compared to everyone else. So I went to the garage to take a look. I had sports exhaust manifold but it should have been sports exhaust on there, I had to kick my mechanics and fit the right part myself so that's sorted now.

I think this is my first race where I've not had the right parts on my car, and I sure hope it's the last time too. Please Ade feel free to disqualify me or whatever.

Anyway the race was excellent. I had no idea how long the tyres was going to last so I started on Mediums and planned to change to Hards for a onestopper when my laptimes got too bad. I think I was one of the slowest on Mediums but because of that they last longer. About halfway in I caught up with Jammyrex and decided to pit instead of risking anything for both of us. Later on I had to fight off Ade for several laps, good fun!

Firstly, thanks for all the kind words gents, I am pleased that you all seemed to enjoy this race as much as I did. For me it was action packed from the off. Starting in 11th, on the hard tyre, my strategy was going to be staying on hards for 20 laps, then 2 15 lap stints on the mediums. My strategy went out of the window. At the end of the first lap, I had managed to move up to 8th place, and was surprised to see Cobani at the back. By lap 5 I was moved up to 7th with Hasslemoffs early exit from the race. I managed to keep Cobani behind me until lap 13, when he got me on the 2nd hairpin. Then Cobani peeled off into the pits at the end of that lap. I then knew it was time to throw the strategy away, and pitted at the end of 14 for mediums. I was then in last place when I left the pits, but my new mediums gave me consistent low 22s, and I was soon catching up. On lap 25 sadly we lost TPE-RUS, due to connection problems, and most of us moved up a place. At one point I caught up to Cobrius, who was in 3rd place at the time and spent several laps trying to pass him. I was trying to work out if I could make the mediums go to the end of the race, but when I lost it at the chicane, I knew it was time for more mediums, so pitted. The last part of the race, and I caught up with Sholesy and Jammy, in a scrap for 5th, and was gifted the place on the last turn of lap 49. Really pleased with the result. I would have been happier with 6th, and not losing TPE-RUS, but I did enjoy some good battles with drivers I dont normally get to race with. Awesome.👍👍👍

Note to Cobrius. Thank you for your honesty about the parts on your car. There will be no disqualifications for this race, as it wasnt a championship race.

sorry ADE under the weather last few days and totally flaked on the race over the weekend!!!

No worries bud. Get well soon.

Cool write-up Ade! The changing strategy twist was awesome. :)
It's nice to read the race through other eyes and combine that with your own perception of events. I'll try and finish up my race report tonight.

@cobrius: Respect 👍

Short Race Report: It was horrible!

Longer version:
I started out on hards, the lap times i was able to pull off were fine. All of my few practice laps were completed on hards, as my setups usually work well on softer compound if set up on the harder. The other way around is usually never the case. I was quite happy with my settings, the only complaint was a slightly lively rear, but any attempt to fix it resulted in a horrible turn in. The slides on hards were quite predictable and easy to catch (unless that damned grass in the last chicane was involved). As I completed virtually no laps on the medium compound during practice, I wasn't prepared for the troubles I had during the race. The rear still had some oversteer in it, but unlike on hards the slide would terminate abruptly and sling me around the other way. This occurred quite a bit too much for my taste during the race, which ticked me off a lot and resulted in even more spins. My quick leave after the race was due to the resulting foul mood. And here I thought I was over my "getting pissed over games" phase. On the plus side I was able to built an awesome custom Eifel track after the race, which saved my evening.

My strategy was off as well, as I thought there was 16 mandatory laps on Hards. Lost a bit of time there as well...

You did have probably the least amount of practice, coming into the race at short notice, and its a credit to you that you carried on until the end under such circumstances. I must admit I was surprised to find myself in front of you. Still theres plenty of time before S3 kicks off in just under 4 weeks to get some track time in.

Nice reports, allways nice to read it.
I thought I was longer than 25 laps in race:dunce:
Congratulations on your podiums guys.I see most of you really enjoyed the race:)
Long time till next race, hope to see you in some practice session

OK racers. The dust hasnt yet settled from last nights race. It seems so long ago that S2 ended, and Cobani became The Sunday Cup double champion. S3 is less than 4 weeks away now. We have had 3 special races, including 2 enduro's. These extra races are now all done, and its nearly time for business. What will happen in S3? Can Cobani hold on to his crown, or will Alien Dan, or Petros, or someone else steal it away. 4 weeks isnt long, and from next Sunday I will be holding practice sessions right up to the start. Its nearly here gents. EVORA EVOLUTION.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I also missed that The Sunday Cup thread is now over 1 year old, and has over 2000 post's. Cobani got the 2000th last night. Cheers everyone.:cheers::cheers:
