Thanks Dan. Not too far off what I had actually except for much lower compression, 2 and 2, and the odd point here and there.

I'll give them tunes a bash and hopefully I can just fiddle with pre Set ups A,B,C for the rest of the season for undulating and flat tracks.

ADE, love that new longer machined gear stick, did you do it at work? with a bit of offcut ally or titanium.

Reminds me of Rally ones, so big they can't miss it.

Is there a story behind getting the seat from work?

The gear stick came from a lamp base from B and Q, cut in half, lol, and the seat, I rescued it from a skip at work. It was in there as it had a small scuff on the rh bolster. You can see the scuff in the 3rd pic. Managed to buy it on a scrap ticket. ÂŁ25 quid, then sold my other seat for ÂŁ15.

Quality mate!! HaHa

Sunday Cup reserve driver news.

With S3 just around the corner, and the grid full, I have decided to promote some drivers from the reserve list. This is due to their contributions to both the thread, and the races. It is important that grid positions are given to those who have shown that they will be committed to the whole series, participate whenever possible and complete races.

After looking at the forum and GT5 stats, I have decided that I am going to move Big_C_23 into the reserve drivers table. This is because he has not been active on GTplanet since October, and its pretty much the same on GT5. In his place, TPE_RUS will move from the reserve table to a permanent grid position for S3 as he was 1st reserve.

The same applies to Trotterlover, who will be put in the reserve list. Jammyrex will now also have a permanent grid spot as he was 2nd reserve.

Hasslemoff remains on the reserve list, as he requested to be a reserve at first registration.

Everyone else on the reserve list will move up 2 places.

Thank you gents.

Practice starts Sunday.

Hi, I'm GC255, one of the new reserve drivers.
I know it's early days but I decided to do some practice last night and managed some 2:08.xxx's. Is this a respectable time for sports hards or would I get slaughtered?

Thats not a bad time on the hard tyre.👍 I have only done a few laps here myself, when working out the race length, and that was on the medium tyre. The best I managed was a 2:06.xx. As we practice I am sure that these times will come down.

Thanks, that's comforting to know. Looking forward to joining some practice sessions :-D

Hey Ade, I just found out that I'll miss the first race. Going skiing for a week in the swedish mountains. Will be joning the practice sessions though, if the room is not filled up?

Ahhhh Skiing, you lucky F$ÂŁ@*!

Best holiday you can have. Period.

Might go Les Deuxs Alps in March. Again.

Having my first runs on G valley in a bit. 2:06 is bench at mo then.

Thanks for letting me know.👍 Have a great trip.

That was only whilst I was trying to work out the laps. Fairly sure the Alien has managed an 04 or less.

I remember getting a 2'02.2xx on the mediums, when I ran it a while back.. I'm sure 01's are possible 👍

I may try and have my first run at Grand Valley this eve in the Evora as it's looking like I will be in for the night.... Not driven this circuit in ages, but a classic it most definitely is!

Just had a quick go with ADE and Capt D.

Got a mid 2:04 on meds, yes classic track but a bugger.

I'm struggling with most of the track from the first tunnel TBH.

They must be getting in the 3s if not 2s by now.

ADE remarked on little or no passing areas, but it looks like mistakes or bogging down out of corners could be the chance you need to get close and pass out of the last fast corner going onto the long S/F straight.

If I get a race you can all just pass me in the last tunnel anyway, as getting good turn-in but washing out mid corner to exit all the bloody time.

See you at Practice tomorrow.

Yeah, good little impromptu practice. Only went on to have a warm up, and found Sholesy in my lobby. Then Capt.D joined us. I managed a 2:04.617 in free run, but I too am loosing heaps of time from the first tunnel. We then ran 4, 2 lap races on the medium tyre. So we have the 1st proper benchmark for this 1st Sunday Cup race. The only problem with a 2 lap race is that you only get 1 flying lap, so mistakes on that lap will be costly. Sholesy made a small mistake on his flyer in race 1, so his flying lap time was compromised, and in the second race. I didnt save the repaly, so I dont know what his time was. The last 2 races were just myself and Capt.D. The times I have from the replays are as follows, and at the moment Capt.D is the pace setter.

Capt.D...2:04.713
Ade3210...2:04.813
Sholesy...2:14.012 (compromised lap)

Sholesy, if you saved the replay from race 2, let me know your time.

Tomorrows short race practice will be 3 laps long, and we will use both medium and hard tyres. If the Aliens time in the 2:02's is correct, then we all have our work cut out. I dont know where I can find 2+ seconds from.
Until tomorrow gents. 8.00pm

Leave it at that for the minute mate.

Just remembered, got to spank the scousers (no offence) tomorrow and I may very well still be slightly drunk if (when) we do.
So 2:14 might be unnattainable any ways.

I won't enter if I'm completely Scammell wheel nutted though! as you may see me out of the car calling for Ralph and Ian over the side of the bridge!

LOL.

Maybe I can make it to the practice session tomorrow. I'm off to the mountains on a training camp for cross country skiing and we are driving home tomorrow.

Sure need the training...did some laps before the camp and did 2.07.0xx. The thing is that I have restored the set up since Cape ring. There I had a set up which gave my car very much understeer but now with "no" set up it is very different to drive so it took some laps to figure out how to enter and leave the bends. Well, I have a lot more to learn.

I'm so gonna get left behind

Ok well I had my first practice session at Grand Valley speedway on my own in my lounge just now, and got down to a 2:05.280 (medium tyre).

It took me a while to get to that level but I did have quite a few laps in the 2:05's. Hopefully by following some of the faster guys around in the practice session tomorrow will help me understand where I can maybe trim a few more tenths off.

Hi guys!

I'm back behind my new wheel this season! I took a little break from all my simracing activities so now I can't wait to get into it ASAP.

Wishing you all the best!

Good to see you again Goodwolf! 👍

I''ll be there tonight to see what pace I have with the setup from Cape Ring. :trouble:

You guys doing any practice on the 20th? i'll be joining you if you are.

Yes Jim, Going to try to get as much practice in as possible before S3 kicks of on Feb 3rd.

Here's the new driver standings table I will be filling in in just over 3 weeks time. Its empty at the moment, but who will manage to be top of the table after race #1? Maybe tonights practice will tell us a bit more.
