Me, I'm a European kind of guy. When I play a GT game, I like to jump behind the wheel of a Maserati rather than a Mitsubishi. I like to drive a Lotus at Trial Mountain rather than at Laguna Seca. But if previous experience has taught me anything, it's that there are hidden gems rife throughout the game, a combination of car and circuit that you wouldn't normally expect could be so fun, but as soon as you get behind the wheel, you wonder why you never considered it in the first place. In GT4, I had a blast in the Dodge Viper at Suzuka. And throwing the the Lancia Stratos around Apricot Hill was a similar brand of fun.

The purpose of this thread is to recommend car and circuit combinations to other users, combinations that they wouldn't normally try their hand at, but which turn out to be a great drive. So if someone is getting frustrated doing the Lotus challenge on the Top Gear Test Track, they can come in this thread and find a combination, fire it up and blow some steam off as they have some fun. For example, looking at the car list, I think driving the Ferrari 330 P4 Race Car on Cape Ring could be a lot of fun. Or the Pagani Zonda C12S at Daytona Road. Or even the Shelby Cobra 427 on Eiger Nordward (tarmac).

So, share away: your favourite combination of car and circuit, and maybe we'll stumble upon the drive that everyone who owns GT5 should try.

At the moment, my fully modified F430 Scuderia on sport soft tyres at Tsukuba. It's a simple track, but a difficult car. A good combination I think.

Also, if you want something a bit hardcore, my stealth Mclaren F1 on 'Sarth in cockpit view is amazing. Turn your volume up to 11.

If you can find it in the Used, the Lotus Carlton on the Nordschleife & if possible, in the rain too.

It just feels like you've toured down through Europe to Germany, for a Track Day on the Ring.... Just feels so Real, Gritty.

Especially if you were so excited that you found it in the Dealership, that you forgot to top up the Oil..... It's from 1990, it's done some miles! :ouch:

GT Motion, this thread is about combinations of cars and circuits that you think other people might like to try because they would not normally do so. It's not about which cars are your favourites.

Cape Ring with Lotus.
This track is now my favorite GT5 track, I love drifting the loop leading to the hill where you can jump the car. Trying to find the Delorean to take a picture of it in the air

A fully-upgraded, race-modified Suzuki Cappuccino and the Eiger Nordwand road course are a match made in heaven. It was fun in Prologue, and it's even better here. Taking it around the series of hairpins sideways totally justified my purchase of a G25. It's a joyous, blissful thing.

See, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. I would never, ever seriously consider buying a Cappucino. In fact, I would probably ask that I be carted off to the nearest asylum if I ever did buy one.

You will love it. With all driver aids off it's extremely difficult to drive it in a straight line, but it's very, very easy to drive sideways. You spend the whole time controlling an out of control car with your right foot and near-constant opposite lock. It's like bullriding. In a car.

Track creator my friend try the Toscan Tarmac or Mount Aso themes

I have a video showing a track I made for cruising coming soon :)

Track creator my friend try the Toscan Tarmac ...
:)

aha!! There it is. I can make the toscana tarmac track from the lambo grand tour special event. Goooood :)

A combination that is gold is an EvoIX on Tsukuba, but of course the car belongs there :)
It would be fun to try the Evo though at a custom Toscana tarmac track with lots of turns. Thats where the car would feel at home too.

For me, one of the most fun races I have had with GT5 so far was on the Autumn Ring mini, driving a Daihatsu Cuore TR-XX. It's a quirky little car and with all driver aids off it was an absolute blast to drive. Thoroughly recommend it.
