Indeed, the 318is is known as the "baby M3" - I don't know if you were referring to that particular model but the picture you've chosen looks similar - and the car below is definitely an "is".

I agree that they're one of the best looking E30s, and certainly more accessible than the M3. The one above was one I saw for sale at £1500 - you'd struggle to get any M3 for that.

You're kidding, right? The M3 Evo model has a lap record at Tsukuba of 1:07.54. It comes close to the R32 Skyline GT-R V-Spec, SLK55 AMG, '05 M6, C63 AMG, IS-F, M3 CSL, R33 Skyline GT-R, NSX Type-S, Cayman S, & 370Z.

All these cars are under 1:06.54, making the M3 just a second or, mainly under, within these cars.

Of the cars it is faster than, the E36 M3, '01 111R, Lancer Evo GSR X, RS4 (B7), & 135i Coupe.

I don't see how anyone can't find the E30 M3 to be an impressive machine in any form.

I was talking about the regular M3, not the Evos, by the way. You can't really compare the E30 M3 Evo to the E36 M3, it'd be like comparing a GD STI to a GR WRX. I don't find the E30 M3 interesting in any way, get your head around that!

Also saw my first F01 750 today, looks good in black but the grill is way too big and has an ugly grey bar going from side to side in the front.
