Whell,i have problems with brake setup,i PM'd Scaff about that and i hope i'm gonna get something from that brakes!Again RX7 and Skyline are excelent on the track, skyline's mod for the Nurb is deffinitly more power, and RX7 needs better suspension, brakes are excellent on the car though!

For Infineon Raceway Sports Car Course, I would like to enter:-

Nissan Skyline '89 - Budget Division

TVR Griffith '94 - Modern Division

Something undecided in Millionaire's Division - Not chosen yet but will let you know by tomorrow

Keep in mind that you can't really change cars between tracks, a few exceptions have been made, but for the most part, it is not allowed. This is a test of the driver over a number of tracks, with the only variables being individual choice of mods, and the track, the cars and drivers must stay the same.

Yes,i agree with this, the Track Day intension was to get to know the car and learn to fine tune it and be happy to see some slight but big difference between the time you have gotten with your car! It's not all about winning, you know?

Fast Eddie12 has said that it is alright.

xjr-9

Not in this thread he hasn't, and this is where any issues shall be resolved. We shall wait to hear the final ruling on the subject from ed in here.

OK. I PM'd him, and he said that I could, though that I would be better with the Jaguar.

xjr-9

When did you PM him? Could you please copy and paste both PMs in their entirety into a reply in this thread? I seems strange that ed would have given you the go ahead without checking what A112 and I think on the matter, as he usually does, but oh well, if he did, he did,but we will need verification of this fact.

I would like to apply a Jaguar S-Type R '02 for the modern sallon section instead of the Caterham. I hope that this allowed. I will do the mods that are allowed and the extra mod, following the rules. I hope that is OK. I am also entering a budget car, a Nissan Skyline GT-R 1989
xjr-9
For Budget Class FF Section, I have a Honda Today G '85.
xjr-9
I will bring along a Speed 12 to the 'Ring and Infineon, but I'm having to drop the Jaguar for that. I will, however, be keeping my Griffith and Skyline

  • For starters, you never mentioned having a Caterham.
  • Secondly, what happened with the Honda Today G '85?
  • Thirdly, You can have 1(one) car for each division (Classics, Budget, Modern, Millionaire's) up to a maximum of 3(three) cars
FastEddie12
There will be four divisions:
1) Classics Division (up to 1979)
2) Budget Division (1980-1989)
3) Modern Division (1990 on)
4) Millionaire’s Division (C 100,000+)

You may enter up to 3 cars but each must be from a different division. This is to promote diversity.
  • Fourthly, you need a legitimate reason to change cars, which will be very few and very very far between. The few exceptions that have been made were early in the series, and because of very specific issues (eg. Holdenhsvgtsr with his buggy turbo)
  • And fifthly (is that a word?) and finally, why change cars at all? This is meant to be a fun series, not competitive. Besides, what race series have you ever seen, real life or OLR, where you are allowed to change cars?
My official ruling
  • Pick your cars now, and stick with them.
  • No further car changes will be allowed by anyone
Of course FastEddie12 has the final say, however this is my official viewpoint

-edit-
Sorry about double post, but I think it is justified

-edit 2-
This is not meant as a personal attack, but to make all present aware that sswitching cars for the purposes of winning individual tracks is not in the spirit of this series

OK. I will have:-

Nissan Skyline '89

TVR Griffith '94

TVR Cerbera Speed 12 '00

That is my final decision and I will now stik with these cars. I hope that that is alright. BTW, fifthly IS a word.

no worries mate. see you on the track

Afternoon all,

Sorry not to have kept everyone up to date on this, but I did PM xjr-9 about this while he was, erm, making (that's the polite version) his car choice. You'll notice that I haven't published his Jag time, because I knew that he was changing his mind. As to the Honda Today, I think he took one look at my reply and thought better of it  (phew!)

Thanks to the Stewards for pointing out the error of his ways, but he was quite right, I had steered him towards his current choice to a certain degree.

Just got back from the Bristol Volks Fest, met Holden there, which was great, he's got a mammoth coach journey ahead of him, and won't be with us till at least Tuesday night. I quite fancy a beach buggy now...

No worries Ed, just doin our job!

I agree with this. It's official.

Thanks for clearing that all up FastEddie12. Cheers. The Speed 12 is currently on traction control all the time. The light won't stop flashing.

Just a quick note to say whilst I agree with you on the changing cars front - I have to mention that there was nothing wrong with the turbo on Holden's S4, tested it myself and wrote the findings here a week or so ago.

you tested it with your game, I saw the vid, it was certainly behaving strangely. either way, it is done now!

👍 Good work, Holden! We all enjoyed it. Thanks for getting me along!

Well I just spent an interesting few laps following my mate around the track. I was in the problematic Peugeot, and he was driving my Caterham. The Pug clearly had an advantage in traction and gearing, as I was always gaining on him coming out of the corners. You could see the effects that a 4000rpm drop had when he changed gear (1st to 2nd especially), as he just went backwards in comparison to the Peugeot:cool: . But he had a real advantage going into the corners and held good mid-corner speed. Yet as soon as that Pug had the hammer down, it was "au revoir"...

The lap would go like this: I was faster than him over the line. To avoid lift off oversteer on the double apex left, I would have to brake in a straight line approaching the footbridge, then brake again at the apex of the 2nd left in preparation for the right hander. By this time the Caterham (OK, it was my ghost, not my mate) was just ahead, but the Pug would shoot ahead just before the uphill left, where he had to change gear slooowwwly.

Through that tricky right-hander (Turn 3a on the map at the bottom of the page), the Caterham had the advantage again, the Pug then charging onto his tail along the short straight. A mistake at turn 4 had the Caterham run wide, and the Pug had the measure of him all the way to the crest of the hill before turn 6. Again that pesky little Caterham came back on the downhill entry into turn 6, but on the way out the Pug was unable to make much headway, having to wait until the hairpin before his traction and gearing could demonstrate their advantages.

From then on in, the French rally weapon held its advantage, unless I made a mistake, and by the final hairpin, the lap was in the bag. Such different cars, yet they do such similar times...

Fair point Goose:tup: I was trying to point out that whilst behaving strangely the stage 1 turbo was neither losing power or performance on that car nor was it having an adverse effect on laptimes. A video tells a small part of the story, a full test revealed the facts.

Updated my timepost with my current car spec's and initial 5 lap exploratory times.

Added my replay files for Laguna and Tsukuba also, not sure which is which but they all worth a look I think!

I just ran a 1'31.1xx before parking the GT on its new suspension. I will post a full time post when my computer is running a little better (its in safe mode right now 🤬 :banghead: ).

Thats alright, it's just that I started running on the wrong one for a while before I realised. I was doing some really good times, and thinking "jeez, this mob is slow!". Good thing nobody knows!

oh...

Whell,it's the whole track complex,so i see the right one!

Hands up anyone who has gone careening into the wall forgetting that the extra bit of track is there?

/me puts hand up

Which extra bit of track?

Sorry, just looked and realised.

Also, "A112Abarth, Nissan Skyline GTS25 Type S: 1'50.378". This means that I have a chance at being the best Skyline. Mine is lapping in the 1'40 - 1'49 range. The Speed 12 also looks to have a chance at second or third from what I can see. I just need to sort out the traction control. With it off, it only does 160mp/h maximum, which isn't good.
