It's been like it certainly for a few days not sure if SCEE just prefer all info to be on their main page so average consumers can find it easily...

They did at least give a fairly balanced review of it, stating that it wasn't for definite and that it might just mean 170 decent models and 830 GT4 updates.

I was a little concerned that they'd just report the good bits, get the internet hype wheel spinning, and unleash a massive load of PD didn't deliver spam upon an unsuspecting world...

Having said that, whether 'the internet' will actually read that far into the article is questionable...

I've been thinking for my self a couple of minutes, and I realised there just can not be any GT4 car models in the final product. Everything KY has been talking about is quality, and if he then suddenly puts previous generation quality cars in the game it would be the fail of the century!

I've never been more confused about anything, in my whole life...
 
GT4 had 54 tracks total. Unless they took tracks out from the GT4>GT5 I don't think it's possible to only add 6 since you have Nascar and WRC tracks added plus the 2 new ones in GT5P.
 
All cars have to have damage, eitherwise what happens when you use a Damage car against a non-Damage car??

The interior damage only for 170 cars seems more feasible as its not a problem which would interact with other cars.

Word for word in Japanese it says:

More than 20 tracks, More than 60 layouts.

I'd take that as 20 courses such as Fuji etc, and 60 variations (Fuji GT, Fuji 90's, Fuji 80's)

Not if Only Rally cars have damage. There could be 170 rally cars in the game, could also be NASCAR damage, but to be fair we didn't even see Jeff Gordons 24 Chevrolet Impala hit the wall, just spin.

But I agree, cars without damage can't be able to race against damageable cars, that would suck more than GT2's damage system, PD/KY would not be that messy

As I said in my previous post, I don't see how this would be possible since there are bound to be more than 2 tracks each for the licensed series. Than when you add in Eiger Norwand and London, 20 just seems way to few.

20 tracks totalling 60 layouts is a 3 layout per track average...

I prefer the 60 track, with 20 more to come, translation
 
🤬 me, didn't this thread explode in the past 24hrs!! I'm seeing 8 posts within a minute on some pages. :eek: Aren't you glad you upgraded to that new server yesterday Jordan?? :sly:

Now, ONCE again (like E3, like all the previous game shows) we have the people crawling out from the woodwork to either appreciate or bash on Amar. I've been a fan since day 1 like many others and he has been 100% correct, each and EVERY TIME regarding his winds. To the people who support him, let's hope he can release more info on the remaining winds sooner rather than later.

To the people who are bitching about it, take your opinions to the grave with you!! "Awwww, I didn't get every excruciating detail about GT5, awwww, I didn't see a cardboard tree".....awww SHUT UP PLEASE!! :irked: Get what your given, sit there and accept it! 👍 1000+ cars AND creating your own tracks = Me never needing another racing game, ever! :cool:

So, once again....thankyou Amar, we appreciate any details you let slip without getting yourself into strife. 👍:D

I WISH this were true, but the more I think about it and look at what's been said, the more I believe the following:

There will be 830 cars with no damage. 170 cars will represent damage very very realistically, being constructed of 1000 parts (like the super GTs for example), and also be rollable. If I know PD, I would guess they have spent immense amounts of time creating an amazing damage engine, but obviously been unable to implement it for 1000 cars.

edit: This is similar to the GT2-GT3 evolution of the series, except this time, in addition to 170 groundbreakingly real, new models, we have all the cars from the previous iteration, just not in the "premium", thousand part, deformable, damage compatible form.

That's nice, but I really want to nail this translation - either myself, with my Japanese friend's help - or from someone! :sly:

I'm not trying to be modest on purpose - it's not like I just won an Oscar or anything; I'm just trying to get this right for all of us - I don't care about my screen name being mentioned unless I get this perfectly translated. They can mention that I did that and then I would be proud. :)

The IGN article is based off of our findings, so they know what we do at this point.

Sorry, you're right, just a slip in grammar. I meant I take that to be over 20 courses. More courses = more variations.

Me too, unfortunatly preference doesn't = truth.

That being said, theoretically "more than 20 tracks" could mean 10000000 courses. I think Kaz is perhaps trying to hide the full number.

Really hope its the 60 tracks with 20 more to come, translation...

Otherwise once you take out the fact that for Nascar it must have at least 4 or 5 different ovals to get a decent series (and they must have included a fair bit to make the license worthwhile). likewise for WRC, then add in the tracks from prologue (+ the ring & la mans) and the topgear track and your getting pretty close to 20 already....
