I know I heard rumors for the future but they need an actual city map so we can drive around in our cars for gt instead of sort of nice new DLC cars to download, I rather a new map to cruise, not a circuit map, a huge city map
Love gt

That would be great...but I think they'll leave that till GT6. ;)

Yes a city map would be good, but unless they add traffic and stuff it would be a sterile environment.

Although it's tempting, I don't think if PD should go this way.

Maybe if they created more city tracks like the SS Routes with day and night cycle, and a version that could have all of them fused... I don't know. Kind of like in NFS Undercover...

This is a very cool idea...
Imagine driving around the city avoiding other traffic. Run a red light, issued a ticket that gets deducted from your credits immediately. Same thing for speeding. The possibilities of our imagination are endless, it comes down to time and processing power.

Back a while ago, I made a thread on how people would make their SS city. It was a great thread while it lasted, and we almost got to connecting SSR5 and 11. Btw, did anyone notice that in the tunnel at SSR5, there's a sign next to another road leading out of the tunnel that say Tetrapit 7?

Driving in a City is soooo boring. :)
If PD ever creates a sandbox, I hope they settle it in a nice landscape....or a mix of both environments, like TDU did.

The islands of TDU 2 with GT 5 Physics, GT 5 Garage and overall GT 5 feeling would be awesome!

*dreaming*

Where's the "Like" button when I need it? :sly:
That's a brilliant idea! Just hope this would come true some day later when the 'cruising mode' is introduced. 👍

City map would be great, with or without traffic. It doesn't need to be huge, I'll be happy with just a couple of intersections to play around in :) Or maybe a countryside map would be better as the lack of traffic wouldn't make it seem like the day after the apocalypse. Or maybe they could just open up the Eiger map and remove all barriers, so all variations are open at once, that would be the fastest solution I guess :)

I loved the need for speed games with big cities to race in while being chased by cops. Played them when I was young on the Nintendo Gamecube when I didn't know GranTurismo. Would be fun to have that with GT5's cars and physics but I don't see it happening. GT5: Most Wanted :D

Wasn't there a rumour about this called C-spec?

Anyway I think PD should definitely look into this with all the free run and cop rooms.
I have always thought that was a certainty because occasionally when you start up GT it brings you with an animation of cars going through a white, modelled, fictitious (?) city.

I'd take ~10 more racing circuits over a city/open world any day of the week.

I actually agree with this though. A free roam place might be nice, but GT5 needs more racing tracks.

Me, I'd prefer city/street tracks than racetracks. An entire city at night time to freely roam? That would be a dream for me!

Weren't you the individual who came up Special Stage City? That would be perfect!
That was before GT5 got released, that layout wouldn't be possible for the actual SSR5 track, although some keep bringing that often. But in my opinion a bigger "Special Stage City" track without barriers, going beyond SSR5, SSR11 (and SSR7) would be even better.

Did you notice at the first turn tunnel that SSR7 and SSR5 connected? It has a sign that points to the right that says "tetrapit 7"

Speaking of all this free roam stuff, we need Driving Park back, I could really use that open concrete area to practice FR no assists racing wheel driving, what I need is a place where I can take a car to its limits. I sometimes use the top gear track for it, but it's not wide enought

Oh yeah! They should also include maps from Gears of War and Battlefield 3 so you can drive around, and on those maps should be the Mega Man saga playing out as you drive around! Also, it would be cool if there were a Millenium Falcon that you could pilot if you wanted to fly to and dock with the Enterprise.

GT is GT...why do so many people want GT to be something that it isn't?

I would love a basic city to drive around in. It would be great for cruisers and for creating your own tracks (If people adhere to it). It would also be fun to chase people around.
