I think SS Route 7 is a more fun way to test the maximum speed myself, I enjoy the feeling of trying out your top speed on a highway. Although I can see that the Test Course is more practical and allows you to reach higher speeds in some cars, so yeah, it probably should be brought back for people who preferred that.

I use Le Sarthe without the chicances. It was enough to push my Audi over the 400 km/h mark. Besides that I always thought the Test Track something of a bore, so I don't miss it, really.

Test course worked best with Code Breaker to make cars go flying at 1,000,000mph, if they bring something like that back, then bring back test course then :)

I couldent believe that the Test track was missing, that was just stupid.
Especially the 400/1000 tests was very very useful.

Testing a car was in its own league in the fun factor, and in my opinion, is what made Gran Turismo so much more than the other racing games.

I was surprised that it was left out. Especially since we have Nascar now! Some high speed bump drafting would be really fun on that track!

However, I am very satisfied with Daytona for the stock car racing.

I just don't like the idea of taking the test track out. You already got that far with it, why not just give it the needed update and throw it in GT5... ? Now all the work they did to create it for previous games is wasted, and the players who used it frequently are missing out.

Acceleration and Top speed. What else?

Can't say I really miss it personally, much rather they add some good technical tracks.

Technical tracks, we can do without, for the most part.............

I'm not that satisfied with Daytona other than NASCAR........it's okay, but yeah, it seems like a quite a bit of people miss the Test Course so far.

@Faria0808: What fun would that be? 👎

@sumbrownkid: Special Stage Route 7 is pretty good, TBH, but yeah. :ouch:

The test course was really helpful when setting up gear ratios ... Of course, you can't set gear ratios now, so ...

I wish they'd bring back Seattle, Red Rock Valley, and Grindelwald

Agreed 100%. Special Stage Route 7 isn't a bad attempt at a replacement but it has ACTUAL CORNERS!!!

Yeah, even if they just pulled it from GT4, I wouldn't care. It was a great track, and I managed to make my GT ONE start flying. :sly:

Red Rock Valley was the bomb! Used to have loads of fun with that one in GT2.

Driving Park in general should be added in GT5 via patch or DLC (hopefully free or within 3 dollars). It's not like they couldn't because of contract reasons, because Driving Park is fake and created by PD. I mean, majority of GT5 players liked Driving Park, so only time will tell.

I have been hoping that someone would add a pole to bring back the Test Track/Machine test. Testing cars was one one of my favorite things from past games, espicially top speed and that is where most of the replay was for me. Le Sarthe w/o chicanes and SSR 7 are ok but not consistent in their elevation or smoothness. Record speed runs was one of the things I was looking forward to most in GT5 because of the interior view. I was also hoping they would add a 0-60, 0-100, 200, 0-100-0, etc feature. There is even a trophy for hitting the Veyron's top speed....

Agreed. Gear Ratios will almost certainly be made available in GT5 as the drop down menu buttons are still there, just greyed out. If they bring back Nitrous that'd be brilliant. I miss my 380+ minonlta and my 300mph Speed 12

We really do need a good test track for both 1/4 mile E.T./MPH and a long top speed track. I did this yesterday. It's the top speed of my fastest cars. When a car has a listed down force, DF, I set it to minimum and list the amount. I added DF aero on some cars at GT Auto. All cars have maximum HP tune available. All times with no draft at Sarthe. Speed first in MPH. RC is race car.
