Things that confuse/annoy you

I enjoy the thrill of speed and wind around me though :(
As do I, but weather and other factors aren't always conducive to a ride outdoors. I keep hydrated in the heat and I have a bike specifically for wet weather on which I can tolerate all but the hardest driving rain, but things like haze from even distant wildfires are downright hazardous.

I did not think that you were talking about distracted drivers due to the following:
This lead me to believe you were the typical impatient driver who tailgates, whips into the right lane to pass a car in the left lane not giving them a chance to move out of your way, and honks at people for taking too long to go at green lights.
Well then, I'm sorry for misleading you. Anyway no, I'm not that kind of guy; I typically the guy that gets tailgated and I don't really honk my horn. Of course, I will admit that I'm impatient, but not the jerk kind that just pushes people out of the way.

It was not a joke, nor is it directed towards you. And, I would never think of you as a 🤬. It was directed at impatient drivers who don't always pay attention and put the pedal on the floor as soon as the light turns green.
Okay, it just felt like it was directed at me since you included it in the same paragraph you were quoting me on. I mean, if you separated that sentence from the others; I probably wouldn't have thought that.

For the feeling of speed.

Also...I had an R3 Dura-Ace almost identical to that Cervelo.

It's annoying when I wake up a half hour before my alarm goes off, because I have no idea what to do and would rather go back to sleep.

Also, waking up to find out that the house has lost power.

Spitting is fine.... But when people spit in areas of decent foot traffic, it's annoying. On the sidewalk, on the stairs, in the parking lot, on the restroom floor, etc. Doesn't matter if it's just saliva, seed shells, chewing tobacco. It's absolutely annoying when you find yourself accidentally stepping in someone's spit or having to dodge a minefield of spit on the ground.

Working at a dealership, somehow almost all the salesmen eat sunflower seeds and spit the shells all over the customer parking area or even the restroom floors. Heck, I even see them still eating them and spitting mid conversation with a customer or co-worker. It's just plain gross.

Big confusion:

Why do a lot of people listen to music (while wearing headphones) while working out in the gym?

People often exercise for personal space.

I swim alone because I gives me the opportunity to think. I even say “I’m going to think” when I’m going swimming.

Half of my riding I do alone. Sometimes I just want the ‘me’ time and like to take my MP3s out on the road for some listening pleasure. There are certain albums I’ll listen to if I’m attempting a PR because they fire me up.

I haven’t been to a gym since I was a kid so can’t say much on that subject except I wouldn’t go there to socialise.

Must be a cultural thing.

I hate how I want to ride my bike and exercise (which I really need) but it's too damn hot. And then I think I'll do it after dinner when it's cooler but I tell myself I'm too tired

Excuses, excuses. ;)

Go outside and ride 10 miles to determine whether it’s too hot or not. That’s the advice of a certain cycling legend.

The hotter it is the more calories burnt, surely that’s a win in most people’s books? The city I used to live in got up to 45°c in the thick of summer but I still road, I just made sure I was prepares for it and had plenty of hydration.

Does anyone watch the new season of Battlebots in the US?

Tombstone is probably the most OP thing in the entire series and it's just not even entertaining. They did the same thing 15 years ago when the show as on and they're doing it again. Why has there been no regulation applied to this one bot? Everyone else has something that restricts them in some way but this guy just keeps on with his spinner destroying everything. WTF

For a dealership, I have to say, that's very unprofessional of them. 👎

Believe me, I know how you feel. When I was in 8th grade, people in my science class would spit sunflower seeds all the time and they were everywhere. It was gross and annoying, especially when they were on my desk. :yuck: We had rules against them, my teacher even mentioned it, but she was too lazy to do anything about it. 👎

I can remember when I was in 6th grade, a guy spit into the water fountain I was at with absolutely no consideration that I was drinking from it. (he later got in trouble for it) In 8th grade, a guy I knew was spitting all over the floors in the hallway for no apparent reason. Teachers later found out and he had to clean it up. :sly: I don't understand people like this.

Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender, Queer is what that abbreviation means tl;dr.

So this:
Things thst confuse me: LBGTQ. G is for one of the apparently hundreds of gender. B is for Bisexual, I.e attracted to both genders. Make your minds up.
Is just plain ignorance and bordering on several kinds of phobias.

I would do some research if I were you.

Chain letters. WTF?

I thought they died out when the 90’s ended. I just got bombarded with “pass this message to 15 friends for good luck...” bollocks from several relatives who never contact me on messenger and in one night all of them send me the same crap.

Honestly, why are people still doing this? I genuinely don’t understand. I saw the fun in actual letters back in the day as there was an element of excitement involved for young people but copy and pasting junk to forward to everyone on a contact list is pretty much just spam.

Agreed. I also feel the same way about people posting statuses of this nature as well.

This annoyed me this morning:

  1. waking up because my father sneezed
  2. waking up because the telephone rang (yes we still have a normal, landline telephone)
  3. waking up because a stupid pigeon started to call other pigeons right outside my bedroom window

You’re seemingly annoyed at things that are mostly beyond your control. And waking up. That seems to annoy you.

Are you mocking me, Sir?

Of course most things that annoys people are beyond ones control. If somethings annoys me and I can do something about it, it doesn't annoy me.
Sleep is for me even more important than people with a normal, balanced brain. If my sleeps gets disturbed I feel bad and very tired whole day long.

I wasn't mocking. I just think life can be a lot easier and less stressful if one doesn't worry too much about things beyond their control.
This has nothing to do with worrying too much.

Tell me how that is worrying about things beyond my control?

I told this because I woke up three time while sleeping, and falling asleep every time that particular morning. I absolutely don't worry about these things during the day or even when I go to sleep. I don't even think about it.

It was annoying because it happened a few hours before I wrote this post. I clearly wrote that it annoyed me yesterday morning. Only yesterday morning. Not during the day, not other evenings or nights. So, again, why is this worrying about something when I don't worry about it. It was only very annoying yesterday morning.

I wonder if you wouldn't be annoyed if someone or something wakes you up a couple of times very early in the morning. I sure you wouldn't be laughing and thank the person or the situation than woke you up multiple times during a deep sleep.

I’m not laughing at you. I think you’ve taken my comment well out of hand. You seem to be very agitated by the comment, I wasn’t trolling, but if I was you’d be making it easy. ;)

As it happens my cat wakes me up multiple times during the night/ morning to go out, she comes back in, wants to go out again (she can only get in through the window but not out) so I do know what it’s like.

Wear earplugs to bed? You sound like you're a light sleeper, so doing something like that should make it so you don't hear those things.

White noise machine. Been using one for years and helps me sleep through the night and fall asleep fast. It has a 15-30-60 minute timer and iItested to see if hear is go off after 15 minutes and I don't. That means I'm falling asleep within 15 minutes!

I thought this thread was more about things that annoyed you because they confuse you. So, what confuses/annoys me is when people post life issues in here. People sneeze, and it may wake you up. That's not confusing.

You're putting causation when it's not necessarily there.

Things can confuse you.
Things can annoy you.
Things can confuse AND annoy you (usually one causes the other)

We got options here!

This has confused me but hasn't annoyed me. See? :D
