Things to do in San Andreas when you're bored

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00sWr-SvQIY

I found that someone kinda "stole" my idea. :D

How exactly was that done? The last frame mentions "SA Camera Hack" and "San Andreas Advanced Control", but I still can't figure it out. At first I thought it was WRC cars brought into GTA:SA, which should be easy enough. But the cars look like they move like they should in WRC, so I thought it was an SA map brought into WRC. Which one was it? I'd love to do this myself; I have both PC versions already and it looks really fun.

I wouldn't know how to do that, but it shouldn't be hard to plan a route out.

This just popped into my head! a Pikes Peak-esque Mt. Chilliad hillclimb! :sly:

How about taking various off-road vehicles (Bandito, BF Injection, Sanchez, etc.) and see how fast it takes to get from the enclosure where the bike challenge ends to the lookout platform on top of Chiliad? You can take any route you wish.

edit: My first run with the Sanchez - 1:54 (that was starting just under the banner where the bike challenge ends and stopping just by the ramp on the observation platform)

Anyone interested in the Chiliad Hillclimb Challenge?

Here's the times I've gotten so far:

Sanchez - 1:45
Quad - 2:28
Bandito - 2:33

The Quad and Bandito suck (those times were the first complete runs without wiping out) and I'm sure that Sanchez time could be brought down a lot with some effort.

im sure theres more than 1 way to the top

have you a map of the course?

You have to start under the banner where the bike challenge ends and finish on the observation platform. You can take any route in between that you wish.

To answer your question(s), I believe they used a handiling editor to change the physics engine to what is shown. And the camera hack has been around for awhile, also I remember seeing a website where you could download WRC and Group B cars for San An.

Mind you, this is all for the PC version.

Good link man 👍 but the one I saw had a whole section dedicated to race cars. It wasn't in english though, I think it was in German.

You can see CJ as the driver, as well as very SA-esque effects, such as the burning car.

The Camera Hack is a tool that enables you to create your own view - even an In-Car view...
Awsome thing to do, though. Wish my PC copy of SA was still working.

anyone else interested??

i think you should register your car, and that car must be used for your hill climb every time:dopey:

anyone agree?

Well, I put about 60 sticky bombs on a car in the middle of an intersection, waited till there was some traffic buildup, and then ignited it. I was on top of and apartment building with full armor and health AND IT KILLED ME! The flame ball/ plume of fire was about as big as 5 cars stacked on top of each other.

You must try this! Can anyone do videos of this on PS2? If not, ill do some over X-mas break:D

I did something similar once, took a car and added as many Satchels as I could.. The resulting explosion didn't kill me, but the ground around it was totally black.

Funny thing to do with the satchels is recruit a couple of gang members, here comes the fun part, they come up running to you when you press the up directional button, but you can also tell them to wait right there by pressing the down button.
Then throw a couple of satchels on them and watch them blow up from a safe distance. :)

When im bored i take up the sport of extreme diving.
All you need is a helicopter and a house with a swimming pool you can swim in.:)
and you can guess the rest....

I found a new form of fun in Rustler/Hydra dogfights. Grab the Rustler from Verdant Meadows, fly it south and go to town. So long as you turn the rumble off before setting out, you'll be fine (the guns in the Rustler made my hands go numb after 10 minutes). I had been going for 30 minutes before my insatiable need to embarass the Hydras lead me into the side of a Los Santos skyscraper (after already making it through both of San Fierro bridges as well as through San Fierro itself and around Chiliad).

When I still had SA on PC, I had a modified '66 C10. It was 2WD, had 40º steering travel and the grip was favoring the front 70/30. That thing also had enough engine and transmission to go an honest 180. Boy was that a fun truck to drift...I'd take it to Venturas and drift the oval for hours on end, practicing my technique...and never getting that good at it, since the hours were game hours :dunce:. If that got boring, I'd just go find a bandito and see just how capable it was. If THAT got boring, I'd go onto SA:MP, find a race server with that area unlocked, go up there, constantly spawn them and jump off the observatory. One time I acually scored a 4-point touchdown and didn't flip it!

I like trucking missions. I like to take my girlfriends out. It's fun to turn on the super jump cheat and jump around from building to building (especially fun if you have 4+ stars), and jump on top of cars and just let them drive you around. Everyone loves blowing stuff up, as do I. I also enjoy turning off the HUD and trying to get lost, or find somewhere I've never been before. If I see the police chasing someone, I chase them too. If they shake the cops, I kill them instead. I've had this game since it came out, so it's starting to get harder to find things to do, especially since the missions are long gone. The casinos, gyms, driving schools, race tracks, dancing, pool, basketball, and arcade games are some obvious things you can do as well. Finding a jump and seeing how far you can jump off it with a car or bike is entertaining. It's fun to drive slow and pretend you're a normal person, then jump out and level a city block before returning to your car. Base jumping is fun as well; I've only found 3 places that supply you with a tall building and a parachute though. I like modding cars as well, even the less exotic ones. I know most of the cheats by heart, so sometimes I'll conjure up a monster truck and run through the city smashing everything in my path. Snipering people from the tops of buildings is cruel, but provides a good time. Whenever I see an RV, I steal it and try to drive it cross-country (across the map) to a nice wooded area and act like I'm camping out. This game really brings out the nerd in me.

i hear people talking about a tow truck sometimes where is it? also how do you get in to the planes at easter bay airport like the P-51 or the dodos?

Don't tow trucks spawn randomly?

Do you mean getting into the airport before you have your pilot's license? If not, it's just pressing triangle like any other vehicle.

Your best spot probably for the tow truck would be by the Ocean Docks and Los Santos airport area. Mainly by the docks though.

I like to put explosive charges on people and wait until they run past a heap of cars and then detonating them. Its a good challenge to see how many cars you can set off in a chain reaction sequence.

Jump 100 feet in the air on bicycle is always a win. You can jump from building to building and if you play it right, you can get on some REALLY high buildings. 👍

I don't think tow trucks spawn randomly-I don't mean the ramp truck or packer or whatever it is-I mean the real tow truck. I saw a map that said where all the cars were the is at least one tow truck, but it is out in the middle of nowhere. I was also wondering where the Kart is found. The map I saw said there was one by Madd Dogg's crib but i didn't see one.

P.S. I know how to get into the airport without a pilot's license, but thanks anyway.
