Yeah! This will make GT5 a really good experience online.

I would love to see HARD EARN MONEY!
In GT4, in few hours I could buy a couple of my dream cars!!!
I would love it would take DAYS to buy a dream car. I would love to see you win a race, you do not win a whole lot, nor you win a car you will sell or use for another race event.
-Get rid of HIGH credit rewards and winnable cars for normal events.
-Keep High money credit and winnable cars for Championships, Endurance events only.
How about WHEEL sizes? HEIGHT, WIDTH, and WEIGHT!
Of course you can not put 22s on a COROLLA, but more respectable sizes for each car, lets say Toyota Corolla, you can choose from sizes like these: 15s, 16, 17, Maybe even 18s. Ford Mustang GT, sizes from 17s to 21s, Ferrari f430 18-21s .. ETC ETC... So depending on a car, you could have few size choices.. AS well WIDTH! Like 6.5 inch, 7 inch, 8.5 inch, etc.. And weight, you like this wheel but its too heavy so you choose uglier one but more sport. Or get rid of STOCK wheels and buy something lighter.
It would add another dimension to SPEED and HANDLING tuning. Lats say I want my Corolla in GT5 be little faster, so I would add LIGHT weight wheels that is bit taller then standard 15s, but keeping the same WIDTH of the original size so that it does not require more power to spin them.. or how about I want more GRIP, just buy same 15 inch tires but make them about inch to two wider, but that would maybe cost me some added resistance on road, so more engine power is needed. SO on and SO on. I may be off with PHYSICS here, but either way if you add different size tires with different weight, it will affect the car either in good or bad way. This alone will have threads started on what kind of WHEEL is best for this or that car.
What you guys think?
Everyone wishes to have BODY kits, PAINT/Decal editor, etc.. To make cars look like race cars, So far GT4 only had WHEELS and WINGS. It would be nice to have at least few bumpers for each CAR COMPANY, each CAR does not need UNIQUE bumper, just the whole car company to make it faster. But as well for SPECIAL cars like GT-R, or BMW M3, should have unique body kits.
I am for sure BODY KITS will make it in because of numerous interviews and the way PD made their cars in PARTS. (same thing for damage) But I do not know if there will be decent DECAL system, lets just hope it makes it in.
Realistic transmission options. If a car only comes with one transmission type, as with the Mercedes SLR's automatic, that's how it should be in the game. And when you go to buy cars that do have options, you chose which transmission you want: automatic or manual. I definitely prefer manual, but I just think this would be a cool, realistic, feature. Especially now that we have such detailed cockpits that include the driver's hands.
And if you have a G25 steering wheel, select it in the options menu and the game could take realism a step further by offering the H shifter and/or sequential and/or paddles (this could also work, sans the H gate, for wheels with just the paddles and sequential stick) depending on which cars actually have them.
It's just like in real life. If you wanted a car, but it only came with one transmission type, you'd have to go with it or look for another car. This includes learning manual for those who don't know how. Only since this is a game, standard is easier to learn without a clutch.
Be able to open hood, doors, take off tires, etc. and see added part. (and take picture)
Watch your car test the Dyno and Wind tunnel.
Motorcycles, Trucks, SUVs
Customize your driver (height/weight, skin color, hair color etc.)
Pit Crew members, custom color their suits.
Customize your drivers race helmet, suit, gloves, shoes.
Personal award trophy/car/helmet collection like on an F1 game I have.
Utah Salt plains track. Basically a never ending straight road to test the max speed of your car, no matter how long it takes to get there. Test Course is great, but not long enough for true max speed testing.
Military vehicles (probably not realistic, but personally, i think this would be interesting and fun.)
More detailed dirt/dust/mud on car after racing. this will make washing the car more rewarding. in gt4 it really didnt make hardly any difference.
more selection on used car lots.
One thing I would like to see is, say you fix up a Evo V to the max and you go to race it. Well, on other race games instead of racing other Evos, and STi's, you are instead racing fixed up Corvettes and Ferraris that match your hp. I would like to instead race fixed up versions of the same original class as your car. It would be funner to me, to race my fixed up evo, against another fixed up evo's/sti's.
Emergency Vehicles such as ambulances, tow trucks, etc. Edit:Not to drive, just to see out on the track helping the damaged car/driver This of course would depend on if they implement damage on the game (which, I seriously doubt).
More detailed/realistic pit crew members. GT4 was fine, but I would like it them to step it up a bit. There's no reason the NASCAR games should outdo GT in any category.
Thats all I can think of right now.

Brake fade - Not as much an issue for race-spec cars and a lesser issue for cars with upgraded brakes, but for road cars in general, even supercars, 3 or 4 hard laps would be more than enough to see most road cars experiencing a very noticeable level of fade. IRL the 'softer' materials used in road car brakes gives you the feel you require for road use, but doesn't lend itself to lots of full on braking that track work does. Brake materials designed for extreme and constant use, on the other hand, give a poor 'feel' through the pedal (the McLaren SLR is a good example of this) which isn't conducive to day-to-day driving.
IMO Gran Turismo is more about the experience of driving than it is about being a race sim. If this is the case then it should definitely be something PD should be thinking about modeling.

Because GTR2 featured only race cars, which TheCracker already addressed as not being an issue.you are asking something really impossible to see... nether gtr2 had such a feature...
yes it would be nice...
this time height rims will be add, im sure at 99%, about weight and width i'm not so sure... try to look in the cappuccino tuned, the height of the wheels are not so bigger in the non/tuned one..
also the vinil Cappuccino on the skirt suppose that there will be a livery editor to...
I'm not so sure about damage anymore. It gets annoying when you have a nice car, and you mess it up the first lap or so. Yes it would be more realistic and whatever, but imo it's a hassle to deal with.

Imagine being in an online race, you brake at your marker, and because of brake fade you end up in the kitty litter. You might like that idea, but most people will just find it frustrating, myself included.
Well, if PD are trying to make the game as realistic as possible then it deserves to be implemented. It could be part of the 'professional' physics settings rather than the 'standard' ones though if that pleases people more.
