I would love to see the Grindelwald, and Red Rock Valley tracks from GT2 back. Oh and does anyone remember the motorsports land track from GT2? That would be a great track for go karts.

Full video manipulation for replays (as per Gran Turismo TV). Pause, rewind, fast forward... etc.

I'm fed up with going back into replay files to try and get pictures of flames coming out the back of my cars!

Slideshow mode for your Photos in Photo Album.

More camera angles (the replay ones) available for Photo Mode. I have tried for ages to get the shot in Madrid where you can see the whole roundabout. No chance. :grumpy:

Realistical things to improve/erase from GT5:

a) Convincing AI
b) Game save option for endurance races while on pits
c) Fast forward/Rewind features in replays
d) One make races
e) Longer races on the events
f) Tire wear on the race events (offline)
g) Restrictions on cars entering a specific race by performance
h) Damage (visual and mechanical) on the offline races
i) Make all cars possible to sell from your collection
j) Money prizes for online races
k) Ability to make private lobbies online (where entry is by invitation only)
l) Ability to run a series championship online with point recording
m) Leaderboars; for stock cars and for tuned cars
n) Indication of fastest lap on online races in real time to all drivers
o) indication of time gap for the driver ahead and behind of you in online races
p) Ability to restrict the use of ABS on online races

Irrealistical wishes of changes in the game:

a) Premium cars only (the whole lot of them)
b) Turn to premium cars iconic models like: Audi R8 racecar, Jaguar Type-E, Shelby GT350, Lotus Europa, Lamborghini Countach, Bentley SpeedEight, etc.
c) Inclusion of iconic models missing like Ferrari 250GTO, Shelby Cobra Daytona, Maserati "Birdcage" racecar, Bugatti Tipo 35
d) Inclusion of more real life tracks, special those present on GT5:P weather report menu
e) Inclusion of THAT german brand which name starts with P, ends in a E, and reads ORSCH in the middle...

1 fix physics engine so that able to power shift and chirp tyres
2 get g25 support
3 able to do brake jobs (static burnouts)
4 have auto only cars shift/kickdown with same feel as RL
5 proper collision pysics
6 what everyone else said about grafix/gameplay/non-premium/tracks/porsche etc

Allow players to use a controll pad to navigate the menus while having a wheel plugged in.

Hmm, maybe a stupid question, but I am allready doing this. I have a fanatec GT3 RS 2.0 and I use the controller to browse the menus and the wheel for racing.

Nice thread btw, there were some points on the list on page one that I could not have agreed more with.

The removable hud, the real TGTT camera positions, the rewind and fast-forward function in replays (how hard can that be, EVERY other sim / game I know has this) and of course more aggressive engine sounds.

One thing I have mixed feelings about is the "some kind of cockpit for standard cars". While I agree that driving from cockpit view is way more fun than chase or rooftop cam, I think it would be difficult to drive a countach or a mercedes 190 e 2.5 evo with a generice standard cockpit. It would kind of ruin the illusion for me.

I think a bonnet cam for standard cars would be at least an improvement, and one that is very easy to implement as well.

re-instate the ability to do 'powershifting' with the G25. it can be done in real life so why does Pd need to make driving with the clutch so annoying

You should be able to restart any multi-stage event at any point.

Example: You mess up the end of the second stage on a 5 stage rally, you reach the end of the stage and want to restart the entire race, but the only options are to continue to the next rage or show/save replays.

This is annoying and causes about a minute of extra loading times, because you have to continue to next stage, then pause, then quit, then go back to the menu and restart the race.

A new mode for transmision? Instead of Manual/Automatic only, i think it should be Manual/Automatic/Real. In real if the car is manual you drive it in manual. If it has automatic tranmision, you drive it in automatic. Most automatic transmisions have the option of been driven in full auto or semi. We need a button to switch this too.

I think GT 5 still needs,

- Ability to qualify for the races, which was included in GT 3 and GT 4.

- Pause on B-Spec.

- Proper race track editor.

There's other stuff but it was said to be included in further updates...

I agree with what someone noted earlier

TEST TRACK
0-400
0-1000
MAX SPEED
TOP GEAR TEST TRACK STANDING START, why have the track in there and flaunt the show when you cant do what they do...WITH THE EXACT SAME TRACK?!?!?

also, i dont agree with the paint chip idea. Once you use it, it should be gone BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, atleast let us SEE our car with the paint before we buy.

This. Add more events for A-spec, plus fix the broken Credit/Xp system .

Opportunities for special events where definitely missed. I mean I can think of tons off of the top of my head:

-Classic vs Modern Le Mans cars challenge (Le Sarthe 24hr)
-Evo vs STi championship (rally, road, track, etc)
-Sema Champion (GT Sema awards cars only @ city tracks)
-Vette vs Viper (american tracks)
-David vs Goliath (RM Elise vs Veyrons on a very tight track)
-King of The Ring (ZR1 vs GTR V-spec vs GTR vs ACR vs LFA vs Enzo vs MP412c vs F1 vs Veyron vs Murci SV on all nurburgring tracks)
-1000hp Challenge (1000hp+ cars on high speed tracks)
-World Record Race (Veyron vs F1 @ Le Sarthe)
-Rain Dance (RWD, 500hp+, Sports tires only @ all weather tracks)
-The Sound of Wind (All Furai Race at Laguna Seca)
-M vs AMG vs RS (Audi RS6 vs M5 vs C63 @ a german track)
-American Invasion (240 minute all Nascar enduro @ The Ring 24hr version)
-Group B vs WRC (Group B cars vs WRC cars on rally tracks)
-24hrs of lemons (any used car under 20k credits completely bone stock, nothing done to it, for 24hrs at Le Sarthe)

Now try telling me those events would not make GT5 AWESOME!

Seriously, WTF is wrong with this game/PD... Sometimes I write that the game is ok but there are moments I can cry how BS this game is...

I´ve got such an moment just 20 mins. ago... I´ve choosen the japanese cars event in the expert series...

Each car has ~250kw and +1500KG...

So I´ve chosen the skyline GTR VSpec II with (why ever) ~245kw and 1560KG... So I got no chance against the other cars, not even against the same car I was driving... What I want to tell is, WHY THE HELL did we not see any details about the AI cars?? How much KW did they have? How much weight? Wich rubbers (wheels?) are they using?

If we get no limit events, the I want to set the limits with choosing an car that has the same KW and Weight as the other cars but even that seems impossible because your opponents always change...

You race against the Veyron, you see, no chance, you quit the race and choose an faster car... start the event... No veyron in the race... You have the fastest car and have no opponents because you are too fast...

The same BS thing as in GT4, there is one car that is 5 seconds faster every lap than the rest of the AI... So you got the choice, you chose an normal car and race against the AI for place 2. Or you choose the same rocket as #1 car and race for the first place and have no fun... (If the car is in the same event after restart)

Seriously this game seems from the year 2000...

The only fun were the special events... But also only the AMG driving school... Ah and some license tests...

They need new ideas, seems like they only see cars... Maybe Kaz must change his mind and take a look to the competition...

Some very easy ideas that Polyphony could implement to make GT5 enjoyable and reduce the grinding that hits around level 20 and sucks the joy out of the game (it does for me!).

• Since most (all?) bought GT5 to drive and some even bought a wheel to enhance the driving experience polyphony should allow us to drive in B-Spec events so that we could win more prize cars and increase our A-Spec level and credit.

• You should be able to accumulate A-Spec points (which would increase our A-Spec level) in all game modes: arcade quick races, drift, online etc.

• Since mechanical damage is already implemented give us an option to drive in A-Spec mode with mechanical damage with the ability to earn more credits and experience points (use a multiplication factor of 2 in beginner class, 4 in amateur, 6 in professional, 10 in expert). At the end of the race subtract a portion of our credit earnings to repair the damage (the more the damage the more credits are subtracted).

• Introduce a paint shop. For example I won a blue Ferrari California. Allow me to buy rosso corsa paint so that I could have a red ferrari with a beige leather interior. (even better: make paints free!!)

• Introduce a DLC which would allow us to drive all cars in all tracks in arcade quick race. This could be a paid DLC but with a reasonable price. If you want to take photos of your cars or tune them, or use them online you should buy or win them through the standard GT Mode. Also you would not earn any A-Spec points by driving these cars in arcade races.

All these ideas I mentioned are very easy to implement since they require no new features to be implemented.

For example while I would like to have the ability to save during an endurance race (and honestly it's baffling how this feature is not implemented, thus there's no way I am even trying to compete in the endurance races) I understand that it's not as easy to implement as the ones I have mentioned earlier.

Likewise instead of creating new A-Spec events which would be cool but time-consuming for PD they could just allow us to use the B-Spec events as A-Spec and vice-versa.

Suggestions? Comments?

1Playng GT mode doesn't unlock cars in arcade mode and also in online mode
I would like that to be adresed.
2 I dont like favorite list, all cars from garage need to be available. I haited that in GT4 lan mode you had to chose 50 cars for favorite list and now its same thing again
3 We need more settings for online like :
Power limit from xxxhp to xxxhp
Weight limit from xxxkg to xxxkg
Drivetrain limit FF FR MR RR AWD
Displacement limit from xxx cc to xxx cc
Aspiration limit NA TURBO ELETRIC

I just want AI drivers who don't constantly ram you off the track. You can't have good closely matched racing because if you're in a pack someone will inevitably push you into the wall.

Bring back missions from GT4 with a lot more insanity added to it.

Ex: Hold off two DTM cars around the Nurb in the night while raining in a stock Z06 with worn tires. :ill:

PP System like Prologue and can we get some online Credits? It does not need to be a ridiculous amount of Credits like Prologue... but something would be nice! Online records would be great, too. Along with a drivers quit record. My biggest complaint about this game is the online feature. Some people are nice enough to add their HP to the name of their room, but I'm getting so tired of searching for games and not knowing what you are getting into. Let alone the time it takes.

some1 said they want to be able to use the controller for menus? you can do that you just have to set the controller to slot 1 when starting the game.......... and some of these suggestions are not thought out very well.. for example, make a realistic damage option.... seriously the amount of processing power needed to generate realistic damage would be very high up there....... the same goes for the shadow resolution, if you increase that then you have to take away from something else

ADD an are you sure button to the endurance races when you accidentally click restart or exit it doesn't do it immediately. I have been screwed by that already...

-Flag penalties
-Mechanical damage OFFLINE (and by offline I mean arcade, a-spec, b-spec, special events, practice, everywhere)
-More advanced cosmetic damage
-HP limit for every event
-Driving license needed to participare to the events (yeah now it's too late isn't it....they screwed up)
-more events, special or not
-More tracks! Bring back Seattle, NY, Red Rock Valley, Citta di Aria etc
-Better shadows
-Better looking standard cars
-More tuning options, most of all brakes and gear ratios
-Race modifications for ALL premium cars, not just seventeen....:ouch:
-Weather and time change on ALL tracks

The more I play the more I think that Credits and XP in online races should be top priority. Several of us raced most of the day and had a blast doing it but at the end of the day we gained no XP nor any credits.

The game would be so much better if rather than grind Indy for XP and credits we could instead run private/public MP races for these things in addition to the offline modes. With the sheer number of cars and the cost combined with the number of XP needed to unlock the highest level races online rewards is the way to go and could change grinding into exciting MP action.

No matter what they do to the AI it can never be equal to racing a real person.

I agree to varying degrees with just about everything listed in the topic post, but....

Full selection of NASCAR drivers and ALL NASCAR tracks

No. Absolutely no.

I don't care about the drivers, as it really effects basically nothing and wouldn't require much of anything on Polyphony's part aside from some new liveries for the drivers. That's not my real problem here. My real problem is the "all NASCAR tracks" part.

You see, NASCAR fans like to think of NASCAR as being the top, most-watched, and most influential motorsport on the planet, but it isn't. In fact, it's far from it. NASCAR has a fanbase of only 75 million, while figures from various sources put Formula One at eight times that: 600 million, which makes it by far the top motorsport in the world with the most fans. Formula One is watched in dozens of countries the world over, while NASCAR is almost exclusively viewed in just North America, and mainly in just the US. Further, looking beyond just F1, road racing is the primary form of racing in the world, whether on circuits or on point-to-point races like with rally. Oval racing has limited appeal outside the US.

NASCAR fans are also generally not racing gamers. This is evident in the fact that NASCAR games sell poorly. Oddly, despite having a much larger fanbase, F1 games don't seem to sell terribly hot, either. Still, when one looks at the racing games that are popular and that do sell well and dominate the market, they aren't oval racers but road/street racers of one form or another. That's what racing gamers generally want; not ovals and not NASCAR. They're not begging for more NASCAR or for more NASCAR tracks in GT5. It's just a minority that really heavily desires this. GT5 is not just a US release, but a global release that has a global appeal, while NASCAR does not.

It would be a crime against humanity for Polyphony to waste time and resources on more NASCAR tracks when other much better track offerings are out there. Of course, Infineon and Watkins Glenn are technically "NASCAR tracks" that are road courses that would be acceptable, but the ovals would be a waste.

:nervous:
Now for the hate to rain down upon me.
