1) In addition to "give to a friend", add:
Lend to a friend, Sell to a friend, Trade with a friend.

2) Change organisation of arcade mode track selection, so that you first select the track, then select which variation of that track, then select the weather, and finally select the time of day. Or is that too logical?

3) Don't give you cars as prizes that you have already paid for. If you already own the car that they want to give you, then you should just be given another car of equivalent value.

4) Add a mode that lets you do the Top Gear test track with the 'reasonably priced car', and shows your name on a leaderboard at the end so you can see how you compare against the celebrities that have been on the show.

5) Future races in DLC should be much harder. For MOST races, this game isnt about being good at driving, its just about having a car thats faster than the rest. So there should be better restrictions on which cars can enter which races. Maybe every race should have a "maximum BHP" restriction to make it fair on the AI drivers. Many people wont agree with me on this though.

6) There should be a time trials leaderboard that shows your best laptimes compared to your friends. And it would be awesome if you were automatically sent a little message to let you know when one of your friends has beaten one of your laptimes.

One feature I thought would be awesome to add would be something like the "clan tags" a lot of shooters feature. This would be great for members of the same racing community to race together. For instance the people in the WRS wouldn't need a separate account for racing. I.e. Instead of making an account "GTP_EternityMachine" I could just choose to have my name displayed online as "[GTP] EternityMachine". I think that would be a great feature to add for online racing. :)

I'm not sure I would want this in GT and it may not go over real well with a lot of folks who want to drive that 2010 car right away but I really really liked the eveloution mode of NFS Porsche unleased. Where you started in a certian year and only cars on the market then were able to be purchased. After each event the calander changed and different cars were in the dealerships according to the current year. Older ones would be randomly available as used cars. usually wrecked and in need of repair but you could buy these cars, fix them up and resell them back to the game at a profit it you wanted. You could also hang onto them for a few game years and sell them later, sometimes at a large profit.

I think this would be cool but could take a long time in a game like GT as you would have to go through a lot of years and maybe stay on each year for a while to give you a chance to buy a few of the cars from each era.

Imagion that first endurance race in 1896 with the Mercedes 1 lap around the Nurburgring :)

I wish that the "Share your car/driver" feature actually let your friends borrow your car without actually gifting it to them.

GREAT game but some things need to be addressed IMHO
- More Tracks Added: There seems to be a lack of real fun city tracks other than SS5 & Tokyo. I find Rome, London, and Madrid to be very boring when compared to some of the old courses from GT4 like Hong Kong, Seattle, and New York. The whole atmosphere to the new ones just seems stale. I was also sad to learn that Infineon and Twin Ring Motegi got the axe
- Bring back a drag strip or at least the test track
- Add the ability to change wheels on standard cars and photograph them in photo travel
- Few car packs here and there nothing too major, just fix what we have first
- Either allow the events already in the game to pay more credits/xp or add more events, better yet just get rid of the xp system all together.
- Simpler way to export photos to a USB flash drive instead of going through the XMB (like GT4 had)
- More cars compatible with racing modification
- Weather & Time Change for all tracks
- Rework the sound a bit on a few cars
- Fix the jaggies on the standard cars
- Fix the shadows
- Simplify and enhance online mode

Due to work commitments ect I've not updated this thread.
It's my christmas party tonight so I'll get on the case this weekend.

Things I would change:

- ad much, much, much more interesting events and championship races
- get rid of the stupid XP Level System
- multiple price cars for championships as in previous GT Titles
- No NASCAR , No Cart - they are just implemented very bad and don't make any fun. If you like NASCAR by a NASCAR game - if you like cart go to a cart centre and drive there - yes it is more fun in real live...
- "reasonable" endurance events - seriously - endurance in GT1 and 2 were great - bit I do not need a 24 hour event - even not a 5 hour event 2 hours are way enough for me. Instead I would like more of these events on different race tracks - and with changing weather conditions - not random weather that stays at is is the whole race.
-get rid of crap cars like "kübelwagen" "samba bus" etc. even I would take out all cars lower than about 150 hp - even when it is sooooo "cool" when you can drive your real car in GT... I don't consider that as cool - I drive my car enough around in real live I don't need it in a computer game. There I want to drive cars I can't drive in real live because I can't afford them like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. So 300 to 400 good premium cars would be better than 1000 cars where about 500 are crap, 400 are only versions of a "main car" and 60 are "standard cars" without a cockpit....
- get rid of "B-spec"

- Make "A-Spec" the main part of the game again.

6) The ability to switch between manual and automatic gears without having to go back to the main menu screen. I play manual, and my mate plays automatic. It's extremely frustrating.

The Camaro Z/28 '69 . Compared to factory options , The exterior colors aren't quite all there . The stripes aren't right ( three colors could only be ordered with white stripes ) . The blacked out tail light panel was supposed to be reserved for big block cars and looks kind of ugly with Z/28 stripes . The head light surrounds should be gray and have chrome trim rings . And most of all DZ 302's produce about 375 BHP while being able to turn 7000 rpm or more . The r34 gtr has a rating of 276 hp at the dealer , but when you by it you find it has 340 hp . Why couldn't they do that with under-rated muscle cars ? I love GT5 but would like to see one of my all time favorites getting some more attention.

Overall, I love GT5.

However, I'd like to see more testing tracks like the VW's Ehra-Lessien, the Alpine Course or the GT4's Test Course.

And of course, more premium cars...

1. Weather effects that resemble real life via The Weather Channel

2. No copy protected saves *I lost a lot of hard work because my save was on my brother's ps3*

3.Add more leagues and series *Even though there's a good amount of races, its lacking from the past gt series*

I'm half way through the game and I've had it, what, three weeks tops? 👎 The AI have their issues, and let's face it, what fun is it beating a MACHINE? Pro level Arcade Mode isn't much competition, mostly. I've had the most challenge beating the scripted License tests. But I've Golded my S-License. That's IT?:yuck:

I never played GT4, but from what everyone is saying, I feel CHEATED. Why are there so few events compared to GT4? All I can say is, there had better be PLENTY of DLC (and the events had better be free, GT5 cost more than GT4 did), and online had better be changed RADICALLY...

I used to play Shift (because I didn't know any better, and what ELSE for PS3 was any better at the time of its' release?) and I thought that ALL my issues would be gone once GT5 came out. It was hyped to hell and back, how could anything in GT5 be WORSE than Shift?:nervous: Well, sad to say, a whole load of things are worse than Shift, No the handling is MUCH better, the wheel response is MUCH better, the graphics... well, that's a toss-up. Better resolution, but less IMPRESSION of speed. And the sound of GT5? Vacuum cleaners with wheels and a V8 :grumpy:

We got shipped half a game. I want the other half...

copy protection needs to go, standard cars need to be paintable/rims etc

and they should bring back the Vegas 1/4 mile test track they had in GT4.

Is it really necessary to have this Vegas 1/4 mile test track when there is a much longer one?- the special stage one. But it would be good to have a variation of that track which is 1/4 mile long on the completely straight bit. And it would be good if there was an option to measure and record top speeds, and how long each car goes from 0-60mph, and 0-100mph, etc. Would be interesting to compare the acceleration before and after mods... stuff like that.

In no particular order

1. B-Spec online
2. Taking generated tracks online
3. Rally online (on randomly generated tracks)
4. Save 'save files' to USB drive
5. Add more grand tour events. The one in the game is too short even though I've only bronzed it. Add something like a world tour.
6. Make the headlights in night events brighter, or fix them, whatever.

I'll think of some more. These are just the top off my head.

Upgrade to Halogen, Xenon and LED. :dopey:

Or put up a few beacons on the road a la Lord of the Rings.

Anyway back to topic,

1. Make the A-spec AI as error prone as B-spec AI
2. Add the ability to race alongside Bob in A-spec (and add the ability to instruct him mid race, so I can humiliate Bob publicly by making him slow down for me)
3. Ability to convert replays into divx format. (since the ps3 already has the codec to play it, I guess it can be done. They were also contemplating uploading to youtube which involves converting to .flv)

If it were in my power (oh how I wish), I would:

Add loads more Championships of varying difficulty. Like

1. DTM Championship, but with 10 races (with a points system like IN REAL LIFE); each race being about 20 laps long, including at least 10 laps of Nordschleife for the last race.

2. Japanese GT Championship, but with, like, 10 races (with a points system LIKE IN REAL LIFE); each race being about 20 laps long, including at least 20 - 25 laps of Suzuka for the last race.

3. Manufacturer championships, but with, you know, 5 to 10 races (with a points system); each race being about 20 or more laps long, including an extra long race on a great track for the final race.

etc.

2 player replay and access to the entire top gear air field...please have those patched

more premiums and shadow will probably be fixed in GT6 the other stuff can be patched

I like the game the way it is now..., but I like it just enough to play it.

I wish that in the future, they would replace standard cars with a premium counterpart. This could come in a DLC or whatever.

It's not really cool when you're racing a nice eye candyish car, just to spot a roughed up standard model NA Mazda Miata with wheel wells that aren't even round lol. That's sad.

Also, just add in more races. That's not really much to ask for.

Who said anything about being realistic? The thread title is "Things you'd like changed in GT5". I'm simply stating things I'd like changed/added. Just because I'm not being realistic doesn't mean I can't say what I'd like to have.

But, the changes/additions I stated are better left for GT6.

Oh man, I dont want to wait that long again..
This was suppose to be the definitive GT game.

it's sad to say but i feel i have to.

KY should put on his Man pants and accept that he can't make a perfect simulation on such a large scale so that he can get on with it and release a COMPLETE product for once!

Match the lap equivalent of A-Spec over to B-spec. That really turns me off from it. Although I am getting more into B-Spec. Oh well.

RUF-CTR2 you are very boring if you want all cars under 150hp out of the game tune them!!!

NASCAR is brilliant and so is karting just because you can't find the fun in them lots of other people can
