 ^^
Totally agree....(reaches for his own flame-proof suit...) :)

Heck, I'm an Aussie, and sure glad they didn't include a complete field of V8 Supercars...Oh, that's been done on some other box, huh... ;)

But YES PLEASE to ALL the other great ideas. :)

I posted a thread but can't seem to find it.

(1) I'd love to be able to fully tweak every part of the car during pitstops like in real racing. Well at least full suspension/drivetrain, aero etc.

(2) I'd love for them to widen or push out the aftermarket wheels so they don't look just as tucked in the fender and skinny as the stockers. It would really add some visually aggressive appeal to all the cars. Even the oldies could benefit from a wider stance and look.

(3). Too many menu's within menu's. If I select "install, buy etc" do I really need a button to say "OK" after every stinking decission lol?

(4). +1 meelion on bringing the Test Track back. I had many epic battles with friends on this track. Even casual fans loved this track as it isn't
technical for those that arent die hard racing sim fans.

(5)How bout bringing back Red Canyon and adding VIR, Sebring,Donnington Park, Snetterton, Oulton, Silver State Classic, Hungaro
Ring to name a few idea's.

(6) How bout a better presentation for the cars we buy or win. Such a lame way to present them only from the front in pitch blackness. Yay :-(

(7). Please tweak B spec driver commands especially "overtake". It
doesn't really work even on lvl 25+ drivers. Also tweak the stupid timidity
they have been shackled with by your infuriating programing lol. I have many
drivers, with quite a few in the 25-35 range and they still brake waaay too
early and too hard in turns where the computer drivers are going 5-10 mph
faster. And did I mention I'm in a better car? Also they will just stay behind a
slower car like they are scared to pass or upset the computer drivers. What
can I say about ramming. Aaarg. I've been pushed into the pits on the last
lap of an endurance race by a computer driver bent on pitting.

(8) How bout some real life hp for a change. Limiting a Dodge Viper,
Gallardo, Supra, FGT etc to around only 1000hp with aftermarket tweaks is
quite lame when its common knowledge these cars routinely make in excess of
1500-1800rwhp. The Test Track would be quite fun with monsters like these.

Well that all for now.

1. The ability to earn credits for the One Make Races.

2. If they can't make the standard cars premium, there should be some sort of generic cockpit view for them & the ability to buy them that does not involve the used car lottery.

3. Louder sound effects for own vehicle. (Its difficult to hear your engine revs for gear changes when other cars are close)

3. Damage from the start, if you want it.

4. Brake upgrades

5. Better Control of Course designer.

6. Standard Starts on Top Gear Track with Car specific Leaderboards.

7. Not losing paint colours when used.

8. Fast forward in B-Spec (its going to be bad enough driving 24h let alone watching)

1) Saddle Road, The Big Island, Hawaii. A very scenic and breathtaking route that is surrounded between 2 of Hawaii's most famous mountains. Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Would love to be able to take my car out and go for a casual drive on this road in GT.

thats a link to give you guys an idea of what Saddle Road looks like.

2) South Point Road, another beautiful and scenic road in the Southernmost part of The Big Island. I think this would make a great rally track as well since its mostly dirt and the roads are rough.

3) Mauna Kea access road. A beautiful road leading up to the summit at 14,000 feet! I would love to be able to drive this in GT. The view from up top is amazing, and the road is very dangerous to drive as there are no guardrails and the incline is very steep. Imagine driving your car all the way up to the top and back down.

Anyone realised this option?
Being able to change wheels on all the cars like gt1,2,3,4,5p.

Come on, that´s silly. Did you noticed the quality difference between standard cars and additional rims? The rims are always premium, how dumb would it look to put them on a low resolution, low polygon-car?

It is like driving a Premium-car on tracks in GT3.

@digitalic
Try out Toscana on Tarmac in track editor. Not the same like your videos, but really good for hilly road rallying.

I would like to see cr and xp awarded in any mode that you do, eg practice laps, custom made circuit races, arcade races/time trial/drifting. It wouldnt need to be a lot, but all contributing to your total.

Online leaderboards!

I'd like to see up to 16 spectators in a room (total of 32 people). I remember it being mentioned somewhere in the lead up to release, and now with the inclusion of no-HUD it could make for an interesting race-engineer type mode. An online B-Spec of sorts, and it would allow those who prefer B-Spec to be involved in the online community.

I'd love to set up a league where drivers turn off HUD, and are paired with a friend/spectator as their engineer/spotter, giving splits, lap times, position, accidents ahead etc over the mic. They could even make it so comms are linked between only the two players (in the race) to avoid excess radio chatter, and the engineer gets some cash/XP too.

I want to have the possibility to qualify for every race in arcade, A- and B-spec, just like in the online mode and GT4.

I want to save my endurance race and want the ability to change between me and my b-spec drivers, so it is like a racing team (just like GT4), an also in online.

In online it would be nice to have the ability to set a time limit on the race and not just a lap limit.

In online it would be great if you could fill up the starting grid with AI drivers, so you always would have a 16 cars race and you could choose the cars, or the class of cars for the AI drivers. Like F1 2010.

What I basically am dreaming about is this scenario. If I want a 24h race with 6 of my friends online in my lounge. I can choose the class of cars like LMP cars for the Le Mans course or GT race cars for the Nürburgring. On these large tracks it is much more fun with 16 cars instead of 6 cars, so like F1-2010 I can fill the grid with AI drivers with the same class of car like the human drivers. In this online race you should also be able to place your b-spec driver in the car. Now we are having a real 24h race .

My idea of KERS - Kinetic Energy Recovery System is for any kind of cars in GT5 simply because last year in formula 1 it was used as an option wether the teams wanted to use it but was outlawed by the FIA for this 2010 season also next year for 2011 F1 season teams are again going to be able to choose between using KERS. (teams began testing the system in 2008)
Most cars are able to use or have this

GT3 R in the GT3 cup division in the FIA uses a similar system to KERS system.
The Ferrari 599 HY KERS has a similar system but on a Ferrari roadcar
Jaguar starts testing KERS f1 system on roadcars too http://m.wired.com/autopia/2010/10/flywheel-hybrid-system-for-premium-vehicles/

But there are disadvantages and advantages of using KERS

A disadvantage is having an extra 35-50 kg on an F1 car which affects an F1 car hugely from start to end and on other cars the KERS is for sure much heavier around 90-110 kg like the Ferrari 599 HY KERS it weighs about a hundred kilograms heavier than the stock 599 GTB

Ferrari in formula 1 for example in 2009 had hardships throughout the season because of their KERS system which is an aspect of why they did not rise at the top in 2009.

The advantage is simple you get to use the wasted kinetic energy under braking for an extra 81 hp (60 kW; 82 PS) for 6.6 seconds on average per lap.
I know people have problems on overtaking because they cant get past the car because they are almost always equal at most of the time.

A KERS energy bar beside the fuel bar works as an energy load on the system so the driver knows how much he has also if its not full bar then it wont work for a full 6 second duration. Its simple in percentage if its a 100% load then its 6.6 seconds if its 50% load then its 3.3 seconds if its 10% load then its .66 seconds. With a simple key bind on the controller or the wheel set on the option setting in GT5 menu with a press of a button you gain the energy.

This is simply to make a better racing experience, more strategical and more open options for drivers.

Facts about KERS

What is KERS?
The acronym KERS stands for Kinetic Energy Recovery System. The device recovers the kinetic energy that is present in the waste heat created by the car’s braking process. It stores that energy and converts it into power that can be called upon to boost acceleration.

How does it work?
There are principally two types of system - battery (electrical) and flywheel (mechanical). Electrical systems use a motor-generator incorporated in the car’s transmission which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa. Once the energy has been harnessed, it is stored in a battery and released when required.

Mechanical systems capture braking energy and use it to turn a small flywheel which can spin at up to 80,000 rpm. When extra power is required, the flywheel is connected to the car’s rear wheels. In contrast to an electrical KERS, the mechanical energy doesn’t change state and is therefore more efficient.

There is one other option available - hydraulic KERS, where braking energy is used to accumulate hydraulic pressure which is then sent to the wheels when required.

Do the regulations place limitations on the use of KERS?
Currently the regulations permit the systems to convey a maximum of 60kw (approximately 80bhp), while the storage capacity is limited to 400 kilojoules. This means that the 80bhp is available for anything up to 6.67s per laps, which can be released either all in one go, or at different points around the circuit. Lap time benefits range from approximately 0.1 to 0.4s.

How is the stored energy released by the driver?
The regulations stipulate that the release must be completely under the driver’s control. There is a boost button on the steering wheel which can be pressed by the driver.

Why was KERS introduced?
The aims are twofold. Firstly to promote the development of environmentally friendly and road car-relevant technologies in Formula One racing; and secondly to aid overtaking. A chasing driver can use his boost button to help him pass the car in front, while the leading driver can use his boost button to escape. In line with the regulations, there are limits on the device’s use and therefore tactics - when and where to use the KERS energy - come into play.

Is a car running KERS heavier than one which is not running the system?
No. A typical KERS system weighs around 35 kilograms. Formula One cars must weigh at least 620kg (including the driver), but traditionally teams build the car to be considerably lighter and then use up 70kg of ballast to bring it up to weight. This means that teams with KERS have less ballast to move around the car and hence have less freedom to vary their car’s weight distribution. Heavier drivers are at a particular disadvantage, an issue addressed by the raising of the minimum car weight for the 2011 season.

Do teams have to use it?
The use of KERS is not compulsory. Several teams used it during its introductory 2009 season. A gentlemen's agreement between constructors then precluded its use in 2010, before its return in 2011.

Great idea but there is already qualifying online and for the hood view the view is already nice and clear

I own an S2000 in real life and have the speedometer in MPH as I live in England. In the real car you can easily change it from MPH to KPH by the click of button near the speedo. Although I have my options set to MPH in GT5, it still displays KPH when I use cockpit view. There are probably other cars which also have this problem, but I havent checked...

Awesome idea realistic and very possible and can be the replacement for that crappy online boost that is very unrealistic and totally ruins the experience because putting unrealistic features on simulation games never really worked and for the most part they made that online boost system mostly to make more overtakes another reason is because some cars have gaps in performance if not set up right although because there is a big weight difference between most road car's and race car's I think the KERS system for racing car's should be much heavier than the road car's like if the roadcar's KERS is 90 kg then the racing car's KERS should be 140 kg and if both are great track road car's and great race car's which are very close in performance then this KERS system should fix the gap to a much more closer and intense performance for both car's. Awesome man :)

In online lobbies, the ability to see what controller everyone is using. Be it a DS3, G27 etc.

Ability to change views while spectating online races.

AI skill level slider bar as used in Prologue for arcade and practice.
Without this single player mode is useless.

100% agree with this.not being able to adjust the ai is criminal. surely this is not hard to implement in the game. i am level 24 on aspec and have completed all events with gold except for the gt race. i only have 1.3 million credits so have to grind enough money to complete expert series so i can unlock endurance. it would be nice to break up the grinding with being able to have a good arcade race with a good ai, however i race arcade on simulation and professional and half way round the first lap i am streets ahead of them thus becoming extremely bored. sorry for the long post but simple things will make this game epic. this should not have been overlooked by pd

I would love..

1)to be able to change kW into HP/ PS, kgfm to Nm(as it was in GT4), etc. I think all my german fellows are too used to PS like me it's really annoying and not a big deal to implement PD...

2)to turn autom. save OFF, since GT1 I always first buy a car, test it and THEN save otherwise restart and voila you are just back where you don't have that sh**

3)to select the in-game cameras, e.g. via checkboxes in options menu, if you only want cockpit cam and hood cam, just go and select those two..

4)to be able to chose if you want right-hand-drive or left-hand-drive (why are cars like the Focus ST RIGHT-HANDED anyway??)

5)to have Replay mode as in GT5 Prologue / GT4 please..

The ability to move all new "won" cars into the garage as a batch...it takes so long to do this if you have lots of cars one by one.

This!

Why the hell did they do that? It´s like making an game for Japan and use €uro as payment credits in the game...

Also buying cars is so annoying! Really I hate to buy cars in GT5! It took over 1 minute for each car! I want to select 5 cars in the used car dealership and then click "add to my garage"...

The first post really needs to be updated. Some of those requests have been filled.

The #1 thing I'd like to see added:

Power/Weight Ratio as one of the restriction settings in Online play.

I'd say I couldn't fathom why it's not in there in the first place, but much of this game seems haphazard and unfinished, so it doesn't really surprise me.

This one addition would alleviate almost all of the bitching that goes on about what people bring into the rooms. Wouldn't matter WHAT you drive as long as it's a similar P/W ratio. (Yeah, race cars would still have some advantage, but not as much. How about a "No race cars" setting of some sort as well?)

dont know if this has been suggested but how about a drag racing section for online. that way you can have a proper start and times to compare against friends.

Some UI changes:

Add garage selection in the track, GT Auto, and modify shop. I do not want to go back to main screen to change my car if I am going back to the same place again. Sometimes I just to want to run the same track with different cars, sometimes I just want to change the oil of all my favourite cars so I am ready to play online, sometimes I just want to modify all my new bought cars.

When I go to the used car dealer, I want it to show that car I already bought one in the list. I don't want to write my 600 cars on a paper.

I want to have a reset modify button. These new seasonal events asked for some cars I already bought, but I also modified them. And since they don't match the requirement, I have to bought them again. I want to have a reset button even if it lose all my money spent on modification, at least I don't have to buy another NASCAR again if I don't want to. (I know this does not make sense, but it is a game, it is not real life. Not yet, maybe GT6 ;)
