Those pics of the ZR1... is that tire deformation?

^To get a more hardcore gamer to get gaga over the game?

Fixed so it fits to Noxs question.

EDIT: I would say the tracks are work in progesses with GT4 assets (which i mean with "high res GT4", i dont see "complete new models" when i look at the pics, especially in the Nürburgring pic.

I saw that the front tires show more deformation than the rear ones, which would point towards an actual tire deformation simulation due to the front engine and wider rear tires. And it's not like I wouldn't want that, I just thought we should consider all possibilities.

maybe adjustability of the air pressure too. :scared:

The New York track wasn't in Prologue, the reason i say that is there would be too much data to make the ZR1 than it would to make one track in GT4.

It should be darker without self shadowing too.
Why? PD have to code the shadow effects, I don't see why they would bother coding a shadow to come on ust for the tyre deforming as and when it happens. It'd be quite a waste of resources to have every car processing that data hundereds of times a second for each tyre.

What about this picture from GT5P? Theres no evidence of tire deformantion in GT5P and you say PD dont release pictures with glitches, but I cant help but think they might...

But i do think that the ZR1 shot is tire deformation, and really hope its included..

RE: F40 Picture

Yeah, even tho suspension on that tire is UP.. it still penetrates a bit.. but that is Pure Game play Picture. Car is going fast, and hitting the side rumble strip.. While the other pic is for Presentation purposes with better rendering, so that's why I say GT would never release a pic like that with a Glitch unless it will make it into a game.

TBH although i would not use the ZR1 pic as a reference as it is clearly a bullshot as the new PSP pics have proved, i still think there will most likely be tire deformation, after all, Forza 3 will have it and i think that is why PD has been so quiet recently as they have being weighing up the competition, and is probably the reason why GT5 has not yet been released even though Kaz said it's pretty much finished because they are still adding features to the game. I mean come on, even if it wasn't yet done there's still plenty of time to add it in before christmas. After todays pics my expectations are starting to raise again now for GT5, i think it will blow our socks off and be way more featured than we expected, i think it will be a drastic improvement over GT5P.

That Corvette model is an in game GT5 model, look at the headlights.

Yeah i just realised, damn where have i been i didn't know ZR1 pics from GT5 have been shown, i thought they were all PSP, though actually i was refering to the ZR1 pic on the homepage.

I doubt they would add tyre deformation because Forza does it, unless the already did the calculations but just didn't show it graphically. That would be a major change in the physics department.

Why? PD have to code the shadow effects, I don't see why they would bother coding a shadow to come on ust for the tyre deforming as and when it happens. It'd be quite a waste of resources to have every car processing that data hundereds of times a second for each tyre.

Shading is on of the most elementary things in 3d rendering, it just keeps track of the direction a polygon points to in comparison with the light source(s). The color is then made darker when all light sources aren't directly pointed at it. So the effect should be noticable even if there is no shadow casted from the tire itself.

Many of those shots look like clipping/dropping below the map too,

Maybe you've all agreed on this already, but it's not tire deformation we on those ZR1 pictures.

Yeah I may change my mind..

Now I can only say Tire clipping, or simulated tire deformation without any visual deformation just clipping.

Well it kept our hopes full.

Sorry if its slightly off topic, but I look at the picture of the Evo X, and I'm struck by what an epicially beautiful game Gran Turismo is. That Evo looks stunning! I really cannot wait for this game, people are not going to see me for month's lol. Anyway, BTT, I don't think that is tire deformation on the ZR-1.

Then wat is it?

How do i post a pic iv'e snapped with VLC. i can copy it from my pictures but don't know how to paste into post, it asks for an url instead?

Cheers guy's, thats something quite useful i just learnt:). Any way here it is, it's just an image icaptured from E3 trailer.

Looking through the whole trailer it seems to me that tire deformation is not yet implemnted in game, this just seems to be clipping, but the good news is i guess it means that scene with the scooby was probably real time.

I noticed the tire deformation as well when I first saw the pics. There's no way they'd release the pics with the tires clipping into the ground. At the very least it's just simulated tire deformation, but with it being confirmed for Forza 3, I think PD has taken notice of it and will have it implemented in the final product.

As much as I would love PD to show visual tyre deformation I simply can't believe those ZR1 renders are showing it, IMO the tyres are clipping into the floor.

I hope GT5 has visual tyre deformation but as long as they keep the physics top notch it wont bother me too much if they don't.
