No, definetly no tyre deformation. Would be very cool to have in the game. AFAIK LFS is the only 'simulation' type game with tyre deformation, and it is done VERY excessively.

I thought I was the only one seeing it. I'm glad I'm not. I doubt it'll make it into future updates though. I expect the video is more than just a reply from in game footage.
rfactor 2 also has tyre deformation
To have tire deformation, PD would need a overhaul of the physics engine. Considering how crappy the tire model currently is, they would have a LOT of work to do to even consider bringing tire deformation. But here's hoping it will happen![]()
I think GT5 has it.... Well of course how the hell are your tires loosing grip from being exposed to alot of lateral forces. I say it has it, but it doesnt show it visually, but yet again it doesnt show a vast array deformation variables. No they dont need to redo their physics model, just add to it. No game will have realistic lap times... Wana see someone go over a whole track with a profilometer and implement it into a game.
With the lack of tire skip and scrub, it's fairly easy to conclude tire deformation isn't part of the current game engine.
One need only go as far as the more arcade-ish (but extremely well-detailed) physics of Need for Speed Shift to see an example of how Gran Turismo could model tires better.
Forza's is more for looks than anything else tho. With less air in the tire the side wall acts the same when looking at it in game. Compared to LFS were it actually shows a difference making the tire look flat.👍Yeah, but much improved in 4.
I doubt a new tire model would make it into GT5 this late in the game.

Without wanting to turn this into a FM vs GT thread I would have to disagree with that, the deformation most certainly is not mainly for looks, but has quite a profound effect on the handling.
And please, stay on topic:tup:
Lol at telling an SMod to stay on topic,
On topic, no, I don't see any tire deformation in the NSX video. Wish there was though.

Info and discussion would be in this thread however...

...with a nice video and picture of tyre deformation, which I believe does also nicely show how it affects the physics as well.
Note - As I say this does push this thread off topic - so please continue any discussion about Foza tyre deformation and how it compares to GT is the linked thread. Ta

i thing we have tire deformation...
