GT Anywhere is a cool concept. Also, GT will be upgraded. GT5P went through three MAJOR updates in about as many YEARS.

GT Anywhere is a cool concept. Also, GT will be upgraded. GT5P went through three MAJOR updates in about as many YEARS.

I complain about B Spec because in my opinion PD should of focussed their efforts more on A Spec than B Spec. This type of gaming is more suited to PC games rather than console games.

Im not sure if anyone would agree but if GT5P had recieved updates i.e cars, tracks, events, you would actually have a better game than GT5!

My main question is what on earth did PD do with all this development time. Could the fact that Kaz was always away from the office participating in race events has in some way harmed the development of GT5. I don't doubt Kaz knowledge about cars, racing but I doubt how much of a gamer he really is!

Kaz isn't a gamer. He's a game developer and car enthusiast. Maybe he likes to play games, maybe he likes to play barbie, I don't know, I've never spent the time to get to know the man.

GT5 took so long to develop because game engines are very difficult to create. Licenses are very difficult to secure (Especially Lamboghini and Ferrari, Ferrari being in the game under the contract that their F1 cars cant even be RACED)

Tracks need to be laser scanned. Weather systems needed to be implemented. And porting 800 cars is not very easy.

Physics for all 1000+ cars needed to be tested for bugs. ect. ect. Publishing problems, namely delays by sony (notably the final delay).

Like the american GT5 commercial pretty much says, the guy is all like "I told them to put this stuff in even though it doesn't WORK RIGHT" right in the advert.

Its not Kaz's fault.


Also. I enjoy b-spec quite a bit more then everyone else apparently. Especially watching my 512B being driven by J.Bauer fight with an Enzo. And lose. But valiantly.

It's a shame your PS3 has to be on for it to work. Hopefully they can link it to your PSN ID rather than your save game, then update your save next time you put your PS3 on.

I agree with all the whiners. They should never put any feature in a game that I dont like. Why do they support HDTV's? I dont have one. Its just asinine that they would spend development time on something I dont use. And whats with this stereo sound? I only have one speaker so its useless to me. They should never have included it! Also I only use a steering wheel so why do I have to pay for development time for including other controllers? This is the worst game I have ever played!

Omg when will you ever get it, they will and are bringing in something more useful. This particular thing wasn't useful to you but you can be sure some of the next updates in the future will include something to your taste.

Exactly. This is similar to a lot of the complaints when Sony was updating the PS3 every month early on. People complained when an update had media functionality enhancements because that's not what THEY wanted. Nevermind that not everyone wants the same things.

Also, who knows whether this is a "waste of time/effort" ANYway, since none of us know whether the coders doing this are, in any way, involved in coding the things that people are clamoring for. For all we know, these people don't have anything at all to do with those things and they're busily working on other stuff while these folks were working on Remote B-Spec (and whatever other additions come with the next update). People certainly like to complain about getting new stuff for free.

One of the most useless things ever, so is b-spec overall. Next thing they will add a level 50 cap and 240 hours races, so we can have fun "playing" to GT5 even more.
If that new update won't have anything for the real game, because b-spec is not a game at all, it's just the one boring replay with stupid AIs, i'll laugh at PD once again. That will prove that they don't give a **** about gamers.

Also, anyone can remember any other game, where you had to leave your console for weeks, so it would've "play the game" for you?
I know I don't and it's sad that the 1st one (and i hope the last one as well) is GT5.

The worst PS3 for power consumption (the early "fat" models) pull just over 200 watts under load. The newer "slim" models draw less than 100 watts under load.

A modern medium-to-high-end desktop computer uses about 100 watts at idle and can draw 500-600 watts under full load (more if you're really out there).

The fact that the newer "slim" models draw less power under load than my desktop does at idle is pretty impressive to me. And, given that most people I know simply leave their desktop on 24/7 it's more than a little disingenuous to worry about the cost of leaving your PS3 on all day.

The above article states that if you leave your Playstation 3 turned on, over the course of a year it will use the same amount of power as FIVE refrigerators!
While I doubt anyone will leave B-Spec (or the new A-Spec work around) going for a year, even two months worth would equate to a year of refrigeration for one fridge.

How many people are using 60GB launch units? 'Cause I suspect that "5 refrigerators" stat references those, rather than the slim. Original PS3s, for instance, used 160W when playing a Blu-Ray movie. Current models use 77-78W. A rather marked difference.

I'm not saying no one is. Just that the "5 fridge" comment doesn't cover all, or probably most, PS3s being used. I'm running a launch 20GB with a 500GB drive. I've always left mine on 24/7, though, doing Folding@Home when I'm not using the machine.

Now the developers have given me a feature FOR FREE. That I did NOT pay for.

All you whining whiners, I have a question. If they made this 4$ dlc and put it on psn, would you still whine that now you have to pay for it, even though at that point its actually not even going to be patched into your precious virginal game of a-spec goodness, nor are you even use it?

Personally I have been having a great time with b-spec. It's certainly a hell of alot more fun than it was in GT4.

perhaps the problem is simply that you never forwarded your phone number to Sony so they are having a hard time reaching you to find out if YOU think a feature is worth putting into a game before adding it for the rest of us to enjoy

That explains why GT5 is old, stale, outdated then.

Still I shouldn't just blame Kaz/PD because this stems from gaming changing in the western world with more focus on online gaming and online features. The likes of Forza is a good example because whilst the graphics, physics are much better on GT5, actual gameplay is far superior on Forza and more in touch with what gamers want these days.

Let me use Forza 2 as an example. I played through the career 5 times and at no stage did this seem a chore. The reason I replayed events so many times is because each career event had a leaderboard and then you had a roll up leaderboard for all of the career. This was incredibly addictive because it was great fun having to be consistently fast for x amount of laps and was also great fun competiting against friends. Now just suppose A spec had leaderboards and so did the licences, special events. At no stage would it be a grind because your not doing it to gain credits but to beat your friends overall time.

Still this is nothing new because career leaderboards have been around for a while. The fact that GT5 has over 1000 cars and only 4 time trial leaderboards is just shocking. Even Burnout 3 on the PS2 had more leaderboards than GT5!

Sorry but the gameplay on GT5 is like being in a timewarp and going back 10yrs. I feel the likes of Kaz/PD need to look at what other racing games are offering so they move with the times.

Perhaps it's because PD rushed and/or were too lazy to make a proper game like GT4 was? Except special events and licenses everyone could use a-spec or b-spec and even switch between both in pit stop?
And yeah, of course it's just us, 0.000001% of GT players who hate b-spec, everyone else is just happy./ sarcasm again
I would say make a poll to check, but there's too many fanboys, who will gladly accept anything that PD throw to them, to see the proper result.
Sometimes it's just unbelievable how big downgrade happened with GT5 compared to GT4 and even GT3, except graphics/physics/online of course.

Take this as an example. A friend of mine is married and works from 8am-5pm and by the time has had dinner and a shower he only gets around 2hrs play on GT5. So if he wanted to complete the 24hr endurance event he would have to leave his PS3 on for 12 days! This is complete and utter madness. How can such a simple and yet obvious feature be missed!

But for the 2nd part... Competitve with 4 commands? I lol'ed irl. And you know, money and exp is the last thing i want in GT, i want to race and have fun, not "go do something else" while AI racing.

So true. I usually can't play for the more than 2 - 3 hours as well. Well, maybe i can find a 4 - 5 hours for some days, but not often.
Do they really expected us to have PS3 on for week + without a chance to use it for anything else (other games, movies)? Maybe they thing that only no life nerds who don't have a school or job playing to their game?

And once again... why the hell they removed option to change use a-spec or b-spec in any race?
Just don't remove that feature which they had already and that's it, everyone is happy. Love b-spec - go do every race with it. Hate it as i do, never use except endurance events with fast forward option (another feature that PD have lost somewhere).
I already wrote it somewhere, but the whole b-spec mode with no fast forward button and broken exp system looks like just a filler. To hide how small GT5 is, less than 130 a-spec races, while gt3 had 250+ ( i think it's over 300, but not sure) and 522 in GT4.
