Perhaps it's because PD rushed and/or were too lazy to make a proper game like GT4 was? Except special events and licenses everyone could use a-spec or b-spec and even switch between both in pit stop?
And yeah, of course it's just us, 0.000001% of GT players who hate b-spec, everyone else is just happy./ sarcasm again
I would say make a poll to check, but there's too many fanboys, who will gladly accept anything that PD throw to them, to see the proper result.
Sometimes it's just unbelievable how big downgrade happened with GT5 compared to GT4 and even GT3, except graphics/physics/online of course.

Your still making the mistake of assuming that because you personally dont like b-spec mode it is a worthless feature that PD shouldn't have included and should spend no further time on.

However, there are plenty of people that are enjoying b-spec. You cant see that because you think PD should have made the game only for you.....obviously it's just "fanboys accepting anything PD throw at them"......I mean how could anybody posibly like anything that you don't....what are you the sole judge of what makes a game good or something?

PD made a game to apeal to a large number of people.....some of them will like b-spec, some of them wont. If you don't like it you dont need to use it. But the arogance invloved in saying that because you personally dont like a feature the rest of us shouldn't have access to it......I mean......just wow!

I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why we cannot save between endurance races is in the hope our PS3 consoles pack in!

my PS3 has been running 24/7 for almost 3 years. When not gaming or watching movies I leave it running Folding@home.

Unlike some companies Sony made a damn fine console that can easily be left running constantly without failure.

So no, I seriously doubt that is the reason they dont let people save.

I enjoy B-spec. Alot. I enjoy being competitive in it. Battling in it. And generally messing around with it. And when im done and I dont want to play anymore for a while, I can throw it on, get some xp and money to buy cars, and still be PERFECTLY DANDY about the whole thing. I don't understand *WHY* you're not grasping this concept at all.

I don't mind messing around with B-Spec either... and I never touched B-Spec in any other GT and I've played GT1, GT2, GT3, GT4, for thousands of hours. If you or I or anybody likes playing B-Spec, it has absolutely nothing to do w/ the fact that PD and Kaz totally dropped the ball in A-Spec in GT5.

Any time or resources taken to create more B-Spec BS features should be used to fix what's actually BROKEN IN GT5. It's ridiculous that GT4 has more than FOUR TIMES the amount of races in A-Spec than GT5. That's not even considering all the other things that are missing completely in GT5- there's too much to list, you know what they are.

Features like this are the reason we have so few tracks and premium cars. Personally I can't understand how anyone would rather watch AI drive than drive themselves, kind of defeats the purpose of buying a racing sim.

But anyway, at least once this is out of the way PD can start focusing on more important things (purely my personal opinion) like adding cars and tracks and fixing things like AI and graphical issues.

Note: This is an opinion.

While I'm not going to tell someone how to play or enjoy a game, B-Spec is not what Gran Turismo is about. The tagline has always been "The Real Driving Simulator," so why have a game where around 1/3 of the content doesn't involve driving? I have played B-Spec, I should reach level 35 tomorrow, but I can honestly say I can't think of a point where I've enjoyed it. I did all of it because I want to complete the game, but I haven't taken any pleasure out of this aspect.

As for GTAnywhere... if it allowed me to start a B-Spec race as normal on my PS3 then connect with the interface online and allow me to check it and run it from there then yes, lovely. Granted I'm almost finished with B-Spec, but it would be handy as I grind from level 35 to 40. As this doesn't seem to be the case however, I'm underwhelmed, and it seems to me like time and resources focused on an area where they shouldn't have been.

Read above. I didn't cared about b-spec in GT4, not even a little bit. Like it - use it, don't like - don't use it, but you still will get your 100% finished game. It's that simple.
Now, PD forced that in to the game just to fill the emptiness with it. It's long, it's not the real driving simulator. It's there to make an illusion that game is not 50 hours short, exp system with weird numbers playing the same role as well.
But it seems like some people just don't want to see all points and still "eating whatever PD gave them".

As for PS3 on 24/7. I really don't see a point why should anyone do that. But that is not important at all. Main point PS3 24/7 "doing" different things is ok i you want, but PS3 on for 12 days so i can finish 1 race in a game? I have no comments on that.

Also read 3 posts above that. See, i'm not alone. So i would like to stop that boring discussion about "how only me don't like b-spec".

B-spec really is useless in GT5. In GT4 it made total sense since it was incorporated into the career mode. It was VERY useful. I'm not sure where they were going with this separate B-spec mode but it's very sparse and not well implemented. This Gran Turismo anywhere doesn't sound like it's adding much of anything beyond an adding more to our electric bills. I wish PD would just give us some DLC tracks or something & forget this silly B-Spec mode. It's so pointless.. :yuck:

So you will gladly accept any trash that everyone gives to you as long as it's free? Awesome.

Thats not what I'm saying. A usefull feature, even if its not usefull to you. Is yet a usefull feature. Therefore it is not "Trash".

Yeah, suuure. Then your point is not a point as well. "I like it, so that's fine with me, as long as i like it, it's cool".

Paraphrasing is pointless.

I did not say anything about this feature beyond my interest in it. I will withold judgement on this feature. Why? Because I haven't used it yet. Indeed. Neither have you. Yet you're not being objectionable at all.

Besides, if you will check even those forums which are full of fanboys, you will that people complaining about much more important things, but yet, PD don't care, they do what they want.

More important to YOU. Full of fanboys? Fanboys don't complain. They take whats given to them, and they yell about how great it is. THATS what a fanboy does. What you, and every other person of this very vocal minority have done is the opposite of fanboydom. You feel like you DESERVE what PD will not give you. Because PD doesn't cater to you, instantly means they don't care about YOU. You're right. They don't care about you. They don't even know who YOU are. Kaz won't be tweeting about how wrong he was in GT5 development and how right TJ31 is. Kaz doesn't even know you. Infact, nobody from PD knows you. So yes. They don't care about you. You are correct.

But for the 2nd part... Competitve with 4 commands? I lol'ed irl. And you know, money and exp is the last thing i want in GT, i want to race and have fun, not "go do something else" while AI racing.
AI racing /=/ a game.

Competitiveness is not determined by commands. Its determined by:

Car. Car Setup. Driver proficiency in various variables. Driver anger or calmness and driver level and experience.

Do not mistake a simple interface for non-intelligence.

Yeah, sarcasm is a good thing, but yet you didn't commented the main thing.
It seems PD really don't know how people are living in the outside word and never seen any other game.
24 hours non stop for a game? Really?
Also this:

Really. 24 hours nonstop. Want to know something? I'll be watching a race. I'm not in. 24 hours nonstop. In Ten Days. OMG! its like B-Spec! ON TV! AND I DONT EVEN HAVE FOUR COMMANDS!

And once again... why the hell they removed option to change use a-spec or b-spec in any race?
Just don't remove that feature which they had already and that's it, everyone is happy.

The thing that KILLED Gt4 was B-Spec in endurance races. No challenge. Just send bob off and go.

The thing thats killing GT5 is duping and glitching. Lets not add to that by having a vocal minority entering an A-Spec endurance, switching to a B-Spec driving, and getting free experience and credits on their A-Spec account.

B-Spec is for B-Spec
A-Spec is for A-Spec

If your afraid of a broken ps3. Don't enduro.

If you don't have friends, thats not the games problem. Maybe you should invest some time into finding people who like to race with you. Maybe you should research games that arent all three lap dashes.

Love b-spec - go do every race with it. Hate it as i do, never use except endurance events with fast forward option (another feature that PD have lost somewhere).

I miss fast foreward. I'm not going to cry over it.

I already wrote it somewhere, but the whole b-spec mode with no fast forward button and broken exp system looks like just a filler. To hide how small GT5 is, less than 130 a-spec races, while gt3 had 250+ ( i think it's over 300, but not sure) and 522 in GT4.

It IS filler. Every game is comprised of filler. Thats how games are made.

GT5 is modular and ment to be updated. Because these first updates don't appeal to you makes you think that you should get priority in a company that you self admitted, doesn't even care about you.

All you've done is wasted valuable A-Spec time posting this while my Bob has given me 80,000 or so credits.

So basically I can earn cash and xp for b-spec without even turning my PS3 on. Sweet :)

Now the developers have given me a feature FOR FREE. That I did NOT pay for.

They are offering another feature FOR FREE. That I did NOT pay for.

Actually, this was a confirmed feature that was supposed to be in the game from the start so in fact you did pay for it.
You seem to have a problem with respecting people's opinions. I play the crap out of BSPEC and this feature will add ZERO to my bspec experience.

So basically I can earn cash and xp for b-spec without even turning my PS3 on. Sweet :)

No. Your PS3 has to be on when you're far, far, far away from home for this feature to work.

long post

Fanboy detected. ^
Well, it was expected. I wouldn't mind to reply with even longer post, but it'll be pointless. Fanboys will never admit that their precious game or even part of it is not good enough. I know, i was like that about 12 years ago too, but not anymore. =)

What if I'm close to home?

TJ31. I may well be a fanboy.

I have EVERY GT, including imports.

I have problems with GT5. Many. Many. Problems. But, I'm civilised enough to see what PD does with my problems, not voice my problems ALL OVER THE INTERNET thinking that someone cares about MY personal problems.

@eSZee I have no problems with opinions. His opinion is that B-Spec is NOT usefull or is many other nasty things, which is fine. But his stance is that his opinion is the just and right and all mighty opinion that PD should hear and send from the heavens a A-Spec GT5 with one lap races, perfect online, no b-spec and perfect AI. Thats not going to happen.

Hate it as i do, never use except endurance events with fast forward option (another feature that PD have lost somewhere).

To me this pretty much sums up B-spec. If you are so bored that you have to fast forward during a race, what's the point?

I bet a lot less people would play B-spec if you didn't need it to win credits to buy cars and (eventually) finish the game. I would much rather spend my time driving because after all, if you're not driving you're not experiencing what makes Gran Turismo great.

The driving experience makes GT what it is and for me, it makes up for all the game's shortcomings (ie. graphical bugs, rubbish AI, poor crash damage). If I only had the option of playing B-spec, I would have dropped this game a long time ago and gone back to playing F1 2010

As they couldn't progress anymore with career they could hotlap instead on the time trials. Well the answer is no because GT5 only has 4 time trials and the stock time trials that were in GT5P are missing on GT5. These friends are DS3 users and don't stand a chance on the time trials. At least with GT5P you had standard physics for DS3 users.

So as you can see my friends were left with very little to do and quickly became bored. Im afraid the offline side of GT5 is shockingly bad and it appears A/B Spec took 2 mins to design. The online aspect of GT5 is also primitive and very outdated.

This^^^! EVERY single modern racing title in existence (except GT5) has a true leaderboard system in place. The good titles, bad ones, all of them. We can sit and pump up this franchises past sales numbers the live long day, but if PD doesn't begin to modernize itself at some juncture, there are zero guarantees of success going forward.

I don't think AI will be fixed... PD has done the scripted waypoint system since day one... I don't think they see it as broke.

Two words seem to sum up gt5 and PD . "Odd Priorities" .Things like this would be ok if they already had all the basic needs covered and were looking for extra features .Obviously not the case .
How many times have you put fourth a cracking lap time on Aspec, Seasonal or at any mode and thought how good it would be to compare it to ya psn freinds , rest of world or your own PB times.
Yes im talking about leaderboards and any other missing parts of the game that you would think would be higher on the priority list.
The excruciatingly slow menus are another .

Couldn't agree more. I'm not sure if PD work in a bomb shelter with no contact with the outside world or if KY is getting older, but they seem to be slowly losing the plot.

There are so many basic oversights and yet they continue to move ahead with such useless features.

Never thought I would say this (being a diehard GT fan) but Turn 10 seem to have their finger on the pulse and I'm interested to see what sort of fight they can put up with Forza 4

Haven't caught up on the whole thread yet, but I'd say if your B-Spec Bob can come in at some point in your A-SPEC races and take a driving shift for you, that would be sweet. Sometimes I want to do a stint of the 24 Hours of LeMans, but I never want to do all twenty-four hours of the freaking thing in one sitting. It'd be nice if you could do driver changes, with one of your Bobs taking over for you now and again.

It would also be more realistic.

I have my disappointments with GT5, but there hasn't been a second where I've regretting buying it. With new content being added regularly, and more new cars no doubt to come, I anticipate having a lot of fun with this game for a good while to come.

I'm "grinding" my B-Spec way to L40 because. Just, because. Because that's where you get to buy the X2010, because that finishes that part of the game, because it's there, because because... It hasn't hampered my life or dampened my play in any way. I can grind if I want, and if I don't want to, I can pick up a controller and race for myself. If I quit a B-spec race halfway through, it's really not going to crush Bob's spirit.

Same here, it is so strange that you could do this in GT4 but not in GT5. To me this was the only benefit of B-spec.

And you're right it is more realistic. Pretty sure one driver doesn't drive the entire Le Mans 24 hour on his own...

This is completely useless. It will be redundant once your level 40. (wich i am almost) And i WILL NOT leave my PS3 on at home just incase i fell the urge to do a b-spec race. They could've added something much better an much more bennificial to the game. Not saying that more interesting stuff is coming, but did you really have to give us this? 👎

Why is it so hard to believe that some people may actually enjoy Bspec.. o_o

I don't have a ps3 at my university so something like this would be great.

I, for one, am excited. I have no issues with leaving the PS3 on at home, as it's almost always on when I'm home anyway. However, this is all assuming I can input commands from the iPhone browser/somehow on the iPhone. Being able to head out to the bar and let GT5 grind Like The Wind or perhaps some B-Spec online events they put in with it, would be great.

We'll see.

Do you really need to be playing GT5 24 hours a day? Sounds like some people need to get a life

B-spec is not racing, it is not even coaching, and it is not fun. It is so e-z one does not even have to click a single command if a powerful enough car is chosen. People click a button and go to work while the stupid "bob" drives easily to victory for up to 24 hours? Does that not sound puzzling to everyone here?

I am one to start conspiracies: I think that the longer PD keeps people logged in, the better deal they get for network space? Perhaps there is something in it for them if they increase market share? If they have enough people logged in, for a long enough time, it will boost their value? Yep, that's it. Sorry Kaz, I figured it out, you know this is a meaningless part of the game and you boost the potential for increasing time logged in by promoting and increasing the support for a completely useless program. Not an original concept, but effective.

B-spec is the most pointless, meaningless game I have ever seen, for all time. I know everyone deep down agrees, but it hurts to swallow pride when you already bought in to the aimless concept of b-spec, so a boycott is not going to happen.

Here's my thoughts OP: I don't like b-spec and I am disappointed that it has not been removed entirely. There is no future in B-spec, GT is going to lose their fans slowly if this is the chosen path for them. This is a very disappointing news release.

Why not try picking a less powerfull car?

This is possibly the most absurd thing I've ever heard since hearing that theres a weather machine in alaska causing whales to die of dehydration.

I'm not kidding. I can't make that up.

Have you tried Daikatana, or Big Rigs Over the road racing?

I don't understand B-Spec haters. I really don't. Its like, heres a mode. Not only does this mode generate credits for you, while you can do other things (provided you just select a powerfull car) but it allows you to hire funnily named AI drivers, put them in competitive cars, and then watch them duke it out, which I, and probably some others (or they wouldn't put this feature in.) Enjoy actually doing.

You get free money on your smoke break, Sure its virtual free money, but you did nothing basically for it. It helps you buy virtual cars. Put virtual giant spoilers on them, whatever.

People play B-Spec. It will remain in this game. It will be upgraded like the rest of the game. Deal, Seriously.

1.05 brought A-Spec updates. Now 1.10 (probs) is coming, bringing B-Spec updates and every hater in the world is hitting up Kaz and PD.

I've no problem with this feature provided it isnt the only thing the next update does.

B-Specers need to be taken care of. Just like us A-Specers, but there are still some vital fixes that better be being taken care of too.

Agreed Shinza.

Also, this:

Do you really need to be playing GT5 24 hours a day? Sounds like some people need to get a life

Makes me laugh. B-Spec allows me to life my life while the PS3 makes me credits, and with Gran Turismo Anywhere, I can do it while I'm out and about. Then I come home after work/fun, and hop right into the "What car do I want to buy that I didn't have to spend hours sitting at home earning cash to get?"

Since when did multitasking become a bad thing? :dunce:
