Season 1 - Week 3

Race 1

Track - Brno Circuit
Race Length - TBD Laps
Weather Report - 10:00am - Clear Skies

Race 2
Track - Monza GP
Race Length - TBD Laps
Weather Report - 2:00pm - Heavy Clouds

As we only have 14 active drivers this season, we will not need KOQ.
Below are the current Active Drivers with provisional entries into the Main Event. The below listed drivers (not listed in BOLD below) need to confirm their intent to race this week by replying in this topic (no later than 8:00pm eastern on Monday 8/3/15) with a simple post that they plan to race this week (Example - I plan to race this week). I will update the list accordingly.

If there are less than 16 drivers confirmed, we will not need KOQ this week and will open the Lobby to all drivers @ 8:30pm Eastern. If there are more than 16 confirmed drivers that week, we will implement the original KOQ process and only the top 10 Confirmed drivers will be locked in and all other drivers will need to go through KOQ as usual.

Ooo... new track for me. I ran a handful of laps at Brno in MotoGP so I'm only vaguely familiar. This will be a new challenge.

Had a blast last night. On the standings I noticed that at Silverstone I was given 4th place ahead of @flatspunout, and indeed that is what the standings showed after the race, however, in reality I finished behind him in 5th. This game can be odd.

@Magrathea_42 man, we had a good battle the first half of the race. I thought for sure we were gonna be nose to tail at the end, but I lost the car once too many times. I think my tires began to go away too, but not sure. Could've just been me.

I ran softs at Silverstone, then tried mediums at Brands. Car definitely seemed more consistent start to finish the second race. I'm not great at getting the most out of good grip, or maintaining it for that matter.

Lol @Lessen. I think those battles are more fun for the trailing car. You were all over my tail and I couldn't shake you. Thanks for racing me so clean, I know I was a bit shaky, especially on the first few laps. I ran softs for both races, and they seemed to hold up as I ran my best laps at the end of both races.

Despite the awefull results, last night was awesome as i learned two very important lessons.
1. Don't go easy with your car set up. Test, test and test again until it's perfect. Last night in Silverstone I couldn't keep up with a guy who i won countless battles during the GT snail times.
2. This group is fast! Holy cow i drove like a maniac in brands hatch to get a fourth place in the grid!
Speaking about brands hatch i would like to make it clear that I didn't rage quit. I believe i was touched by cape in my quarter panel and lost the car and in an effort to hold it o put such pressure on my wheel that it came out from the rig on my lap :banghead:. Fixing it and get back in the race sounded silly because there would be no goal to fight for.
Overal, great series, great organization, amazing group of people, EXCELENT JOB GRIM

Had a great time racing with everyone last night. Although I didn't do very well, it was definitely the best racing I've been a part of on project cars. I apologize to Magrathea_42 I'm pretty sure it was. Came in a little too hot into a corner on brands hatch and we both slid off track. Looking forward to next week :)👍

@Schmiggz my mclaren was bone stock for the Silverstone race. Maybe try a car that naturally suits your driving style. I had spent a little time tuning my car for BH though. Unfortunate I ran out of gas at Silverstone on the last lap. I admit I didn't test fuel usage at all.

I want to thank everyone for your patience as we worked through the connection checks prior to the start. Going forward I'd like to ask that everyone be in the lobby and on track by 8:45 so we have time to work through those issues.

Glad everyone is enjoying the series and showing the respect and racecraft we all should expect. It makes no difference how organized the series is if the drivers are only interested in winning at all costs. It's the battles we all had last night that we enjoy. So with that, I thank all of you form making this enjoyable.

Next season we will be running a single car for all drivers and it will be one of the lower hp cars on some smaller tracks. I'll announce the cars that will be put up for votes after next weeks races. Will be fun to have some closer fields and a good change from the GT3's.

Guess that answers Parcells PM question you tactfully avoided. ;)

Still haven't tested the BMW or the seemingly underpowered Ginetta but if the Ginetta handles better I'll take it out of spite...and maybe perform well on my first race Brno??? That remains the plan, we'll see what reality brings.

I have to say it was an awesome night of racing, esp with SGETI and Flat up front. Both races were very close! Those RUF's were a handful to keep ahead of. SGETI once lost it in a corner and thought i had some breathing room as Flat took 2nd, but within a few laps, SGETI was back in 2nd and right on my tail, i couldnt believe it.
And BH, man those Qualifier times, Top 6 all within 1 sec, dam!

Agreed mopar, great racing and watching the fog burn off and the sun come out at Silverstone was sweet. Thanks to Grim for the time and effort you put into this series. When this game is running right it is SO good, but then this happens:

yup that's totally the hover craft glitch going on. at least your car didn't fully lift off the ground and just float into a corner
