He guys ! I had a wonderfull first and second race. The first race was a bit chaotic but the qualify did not go as I wanted. Still did not know the track well and had no time to practice. The second race was based on the result of the previous one and felt a little better in its pace. Final race I managed to do a 2:33 lap finally !

I saw some very fair driving. People waiting for eachother when they made a mistake. Just some great moments of sportmanship.

Here are some pics I made so enjoy !

Fun racing last night, even with only the 6 cars on a track which isn’t conducive to great racing.

About the only criticism I have is that more tire wear would be nice, since I ran the 40 minute race on the same set of tires with no dropoff in pace and no noticeable wear really. Enough wear that you need to change them on the pit stop would be good. The fuel consumption is good though.

I think we now know which drivers are gonna be near the top most of the time ;)

Hopefully I do better on a "normal" race track next time. I have always avoided this place like the plague, I dont think I have ever ran a race on t by e Mountain that I didnt need to, not even in Sport mode.

As far as tire tire wear I forget to deselect the tire change on my pit stop, soon as I pressed the button authorizing new tires I looked at my tire wear and there was barely any red, even with all the spinning I was doing :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:, I suppose it doesnt help when your Fanatec wheel you just got back from warranty double down shifts sometimes or even downshifts when it feels like it on it own, makes it hard to tell if you will be getting engine braking or locked up rears.

That is exactly how we wanted tire wear set. The Real Racing Series doesn't change tires at all but you can't simulate tire wear in GTS without having the option of changing them.

Wear is set to be noticable but not a deciding factor on the race if you choose not to change them. I can tell the drop off in performance as the race goes on and about the last 5 laps my lap times start to reflect that. Drop a wheel off in the grass or hit a curb the wrong way and it will definitely be noticeable.
No matter how tire wear is set it will always effect some people more than others due to the differences in driving styles.

I'm so pleased with the lobby turnout of race one yesterday. Started the day off with 15 out of 16 and everyone could see each other.
There was some very good action with not a huge amount of turmoil. We are reviewing a few things but no decision has been made on anything yet. That process takes time and it will likely be a few days if anything is decided.

I want to thank everyone who showed up and participated you are the reason we enjoy doing this and I look forward to many more great races with everyone.

Here are the official Results from Lobby #1 yesterday and Desertpenguin will have the point standings up soon.

Lobby #1 Race #1 20 minutes

Yeah, you got me in race #2 with your tire/pit strategy.
I checked the replay and you gained 7.5 seconds on me during pitstops because you were so smooth driving and also went 10 laps on fuel :irked:
I changed my tires and added way too much fuel.
I think I was too overconfident I could catch you before the end because of the lap times in race 1, but you smoked it those last 5 laps and impressively took it home

I also want to shout out to @Clean Racer (gentlemanracing). I noticed you were right there at the front for a long time and had the fast lap most of the race. Not sure what happened to you; probably that kangaroo i noticed about to cross the track.

I enjoyed the racing, but the limited participants in Lobby 2 was a disappointment for sure. i hope those who showed up had fun. I love the reverse grid stuff. It's great fun to try to work through traffic and find the safest spots to make an attempt. Especially here where you really dont want to try passing going up or down the mountain from the Cutting to Forest's Elbow.
Sorry you dont like this track DP, i absolutely love it. It is a real challenge and can bite you at any lapse. Especially fun with full damage as the challenge, risk/reward is heightened to the extreme. Forces one to learn where, when and how to pass over time.

It's not so much I don't like as it as much as I prefer other tracks instead. Overall everyone had a great night and I too hope to see more drivers in the future.

See what I mean. I was doing 9 laps and thought that was good. 10 laps is very impressive. He is just one of those players who knows how to get every inch of life out of the car by the way he drives.

I drove for the first lap and a half on fuel map 2/3, drafting behind fastone for most of that time, then once I got to within 2 seconds of you I switched back to map 2 again for the twisty parts.

It’s just from doing 3 seasons of FIA races all summer where using 1 extra litre of gas or abusing your tires a tiny amount was the difference between 8th and 18th place (I was usually the latter).

You, gentleman and DP were all faster than me in raw pace when you ran mistake free laps, I couldn’t do better than mid 34’s and there were some 33’s and I think even a high 32 being run at some points.

*Ignore the Mazda MX-5 Cup suit livery. It's left over from last Friday and forgot to change it before the races. :D

Next week at Brands will be much better, I have always hated Mount Panorama, but after the 1st Toyota 86 race..................I still hate Mount Panorama, nothing has changed.:lol::lol::lol:

I've always liked Mount Panorama a lot. It's a fast nice flowing race track with many high speed sections. Only one section of that track is really tricky to get just right.

Brands is going to be a pain in the ass for many. Too many spots that people can easily over shoot and drop a tire off or even the whole car. Passing here will be very difficult as the best line around this track has you taking up the entire lane that not very wide anyway. No really fast section at this course so getting out of 4th gear only happens for a split second.

Definitely one of my least favorite tracks and forget about speed because if you can't be consistent here your in trouble as you will almost always have someone on your tail.

Should be fun though.
