I think that the first one will be pretty easy. just keep tapping the sqare ( or was it x :odd:) until in the upper corner has text "display" then you should have all possible data on screen.

second one: yes, that is sufficient, as long as it displays the record attempt from startline to the session record screen, that comes up after successful, un-interrupted attempt.

2. You can record it just from the replay, just make sure that the HUD is visable and the session record screen is also visable( at the begining or end of the run) However, you mention something about plugging the MC into your computer and extracting the replay fropm there. That however is possable, but you wont be able to watch it( a 6KB file called a ".MAX") There is a device called a maxdrive, its just like a flash drive you put into the front of your PS2 and then pop in the maxdrive software and that enables you to transfer the replay.

The device that I use is the dazzle thingy


Its not that exact one, but something along the lines of that, only mine was about 40 bucks, not 100+( your just paying for the software) You just need WMM for capturing video.

Because Jordan is the man:sly: He put in these youtube tags that enable you to embed the player right into the froum( no more clicking links)

After finding my camcorder manual it looks like I can't go that route as it will only transfer still images to a PC. I bought it six years ago - maybe newer ones can do it.

So it appears that my only choice it to transfer the file. If I understand Opendriver correctly I need to buy a piece of hardware similar to the one he linked to and this will let me transfer the replay which I can then upload to youTube or something similar. (By the way, I really don't get how I am apparently the only person in this forum who does not know how to do this, I guess I should have one of my kids come over and teach me).

Give me a sec to give a little crash course on how to via Screen shots and diagrams( no sock pupets needed!:))

Once you have all of that set-up, open windows moviemaker( go HERE if you dont have it)

And then follow the steps to record you video

why i see people all over saying how fast they went and no pictures or anything and tell me how to get the video from my ps2 to here and i will




p.s. i missed the one about the 350+ rule but i did save te video just tell me how to add it:)

p.p.s i have 10 runs all over 361 i can take apicture of that too if you wish

About your "2nd fastest gt1" Did you get it to that speed using only a stage 4 turbo and 50 shot of NOS or did you use any kind of codes to help out. I seem to be stuck at 320.xxmph:dunce:

You just need to refine your settings more.

The Rac3rX Section - Advanced Rules
1. All speeds must be proven by photograph of the Session Record screen to go onto the leaderboard. All record-breaking speeds and any speed exceeding 350mph must be proven by video. Video proof can be requested for any particular speed which is suspected of breaking any rule(s). Proof should be posted in this thread.
2. At no point in your run must any of the car's wheels leave the ground. At no point in your run must your car make contact with any barrier, visible or invisible.
3. All speed runs must be made at the Test Course in Max Speed Test mode.
4. You must not at any point in your top speed attempt travel backwards around the course.
5. Nitrous is allowed where available.
6. Whether a car is catagorised as road or racing class is usually very clear, however in some situations it is not. My decision is final when there is doubt on this.
7. No cheat systems or cheat codes are allowed.
8. You may share settings if you wish, however nobody can force you to do so.
9. Please act with courtesy and respect at all times

i didn't say it was offical!

i just said i done the true land speed record

by breaking out you have a more realistic speed test

when ppl try to get a new speed record they don't do it on a track they do it on a salt lake that is flat for 20 Miles or so

2) I have a digital Mini DV video camera that I could use to record the TV screen and then upload to my PC (I'm trying to find the manual and cables but I'm pretty sure I can do this). Will this be of sufficient quality for DE to determine it was a no wheelie run? Otherwise, I see that there are youTube videos that appear to be directly from the game - is it possible to save a replay and then just plug the PS2 memory card into my PC?. And for that matter, why is youTube needed at all - can't I just attach the replay file to my post?

So long as the video is unedited and uncut from before the start of the run to after the end, and the quality is high enough for me to see sufficient detail (MiniDV should be) I can verify 350mph+ speeds from it.
To transfer replay files you need a MaxDrive or similar device, as Opendriver says, but at the moment this isn't an available form of verification for the Club - we only use actual video files, whereas replay files store information that can only be read by GT4.
Most of our longer-established members use YouTube because it is a convenient and fast way to view streaming video, and you cannot attach high-quality video files to your posts because of the filesize limits. YouTube is the all-round easiest option, when it actually works :dopey:

Mmm, that's been said a lot before and I've thought about it before, but I still refuse to change the thread title from the original full name for the Club. It looks pure like that, don't you think? And we should stay pure, no matter how many inconsiderate people don't bother to read things, do you agree? :)

Thanks again to the Squadron and all my world-weary and experienced Club members for keeping people informed and under control while I was away, couldn't keep it in line without you guys 👍

The Leaderboard... doesn't need updating, which is nice ;)

Just letting you all know I'm still here! Nothing new as I've had other things to deal with (I finally got finished watching Gunslinger Girl - best anime ever!), and I'm going to be without video capture/screenshot ability for a while, so I'll mostly be working on new cars if I get a chance.

I also thought I'd mention that soon I'll have a MaxDrive, so depending on demand I may be able to make videos for people who do not have a capture card. Probably will limit it to record runs only, because I'm a busy guy! :)
 
Well, it looks like it will be towards the end of the week before I can post any videos. There seem to be no video capture cards at any of my local stores so I had to order online. According to UPS it should be here Thursday so barring any Bill Gates-induced problems I may post Fri or Sat.

In the meantime its back to work, golf and GT4

oh and i wanted to get this off my chest lol but the "rules" are set to get on the leaderboard not to post here so quit yelling at all the "new" posters about the rules since they only apply to the "official" leaderboard
