i'm taking a little break from GT4 now, but i'll be back, that's sure *gg*

I'm a bit short on new ideas! The Tuning Competition is indeed taking up most of my time, maybe I'll take a break from judging for a few weeks, and I'm going back to Essex later today - I'll be back Tuesday, so just continue as usual.

DE

Okay

I'll do another run tonight and get both the session record screen and the replay.

Traction control is at 10 - I really did not play around with that much other than also trying 0 and just losing too much time to wheelspin. I decided to stop tuning once I got to a record speed, this is my second Bentley - I put 1200 miles on my first to get to this speed (and 8000 miles on the Sauber to win them) - I really don't want to send Bob to La Sarthe a third time.

Just keep recording after the replay ends so that goes back to the session result screen. That's what I do. I usually take a screen grab/shot of the session result screen too.

10 might be a little too high for traction control. I personally use 1, and this prevents skidding at launch, but doesn't cause speed loss round the rest of the run.

Also, you can use a second memory card to purchase the car back to yourself. It will cost a lot, but you can still get that money faster than B-Speccing La Sarthe each time. This trick is also useful if you have a 6.2 mile special thats getting worn down by mileage. 👍

Well I can't even get close to that. Theres something need in the tuning that will open it right up, but despite all my attempts, I still can't find what it is.

I'm not even close to 355mph yet, which considering that I'm competitive with most other cars, is quite depressing. :(

I agree, 10 is likely too much, but once I got above the existing Bentley record consistently I wanted to move on to another quest. I've been playing around with the TS020 (also on the second one of these after putting 1300 miles on the first one) and, because I'm finding this a much tougher challenge (can't seem to get a legitimate run much above 369.5xx) I do optimize the traction control setting after every change of suspension, gearing and downforce. But I do tend to like it in the 5 to 6 region most of the time.

it's the same for me, either wheelie or slower run......that's the only 2 sides of this car for me :guilty:
very depressing as you said MStorm 👍

Well, I guess if you look on the bright side viper, the car seem to be immune from the effects GT4's 'physics', so anything is possible.

Toronado, you eliminated the churchill effect:eek: (:odd: maybe), ..., that's just not cricket. That's the one thing that keeps me from touching that thing, it defies logic & pretty much everything else!- I think, that if I could do the same with the 88C-V, then their would be some unfathomable speeds appearing:scared:.

FormulaGT

maybe you're right FGT, but i can't achieve the speeds i want with that car....

good luck for eliminating the churchill-effect on your Minolta 👍

DE, here is another run with my Speed 8 - a little slower but a Bentley record nontheless - with session record showing before and after the replay. For some reason my video camera lost its focus for a few seconds in the middle of the run. If you need a clearer replay I can upload it captured directly from the PS2.

Hope this passes scrutiny

This took 1800 miles, two TS020's and probably 40 hours, but here is the result:

Toyota GT-ONE TS020 at 371.90MPH

Three video clips attached

1) Session speed and replay

2) Part 1 of saved replay with photomode analysis of front tires

3) Part 2 of saved replay with photomode analysis of front tires

Had to split this up as the entire video file was larger than YouTubes's limit.

Probably overkill on photomode but wanted to make sure there was no question this was a legitimate run. One note: in the third video the views from cameras 32 and 33 show what may appear to be daylight underneath the left side tire. This is actually the yellow line on the track; the relative position of the tire and the line is much more obvious in some of the subsequent shots.

Now, on to the CLK-GTR.

I noticed you drive from the bottom of the track rather than the top.. Why is that, do you get more speed or what..

maybe i should also start with the Minolta, just to tease MStorm :sly: no, just joking, maybe i can achieve better speeds than with the GT-One!

Toronado
I've completely cured the TS020 of Churchill Effect
 Damn!

I will review 2078TM's video closely as soon as possible, I have no spare time at the moment. My only comment at the moment is, sorry to contradict GT4_R, but a MaxDrive replay is not an accepted form of verification. A direct file download is preferable to two YouTube videos, but I will review the videos as soon as possible.

omg this sucks i got over my last record but everytime i turn the wheel my 88-cv goes all wacky and keeps turning down towards the wall i try to correct it but everytime i do i got towards the gaurdrail and then try to correct again and spin and hit many walls so :( i think im done for 300 mph unless someone can send me a pm with a good suspension setup for the 300 mph :D

Thank-you

For me this occurs if the suspension is set too hard. Make it softer, much softer. :)
