Well, Viper, you're right on that one

But, anyway, if such specs exist it seems obvious than no one on this thread knows what they are given that the record is 371.90

And I'm too busy meddling to try and beat it (though, shockingly, I beat the no-NOS speed over 2 months ago and have just been sitting on it).

It still never ceases to amaze me that people will ask for ridiculous setups without even bothering to do any testing themselves...

That's not like you, Toronado :p

EDIT - Couldn't resist matching my title to my avatar and RL-car :D

Finally I got the skyline nur over 309. Try the same settings on another '00 GT-R and got 305.XX. May be I'll push them further but at the moment I want to test some Fairlady and Supra. If those went well then I'll post them up at once.

Hello 300Mhp Drivers and wannabes (like me haha).
First let me introduce myself;
I used to play GT since the Gran Turismo 2, on PSX, and after a time away from playing, i have finally bought a PS2 and the first game i have chose was GT4, of course :)
I just love to play the game, and searching for tips and tutorials i just found this awesome forum.
And then.. i just found this Thread xD
First, congratulations Dark Elite, for one of the most nice Threads i have ever seen about GT4; I was just about forgetting that i was at the work when i start to read it :)
It´s very entertaining just to See people runing and tuning the most they can to set the best Speed.. And i just like to participate!
Second, congratulations to Toronado, awesome marks in lots of cars and categories xD

And at last.. has anyone here tryed the Honda S2000 to come up to the 300 mark? I love that car, and i would be so much happy if he comes up to 300Mhp. Anyone knows if it´s possible to make any model of the S2K come to it?
I will try to do it.. let´s see what happens!

To finish, sorry for that horrible english of mine x)

Thankyou all,

And nice 300-driving :]

your gonna need 800+ hp to get it there. Theres a few cars that can get there, but on average, you need 800 or more to get there. The 1000+ hp cars are the best for this. But you can tune a few road cars to get up there.

Okay, been playing a few weeks and have breached the 50% mark finally. whew. My car for the "like the wind" race was my Zonda C12S 7.3. I found this forum tonight, read about the first 10 pages of posts, didn't see anything on the C12S, but then I found the "search thread" action. I saw where someone reportedly ran a 309.xx, but here's my best run just now with proof:

zonda30533.jpg

Consistently running 305's, but running out of NOx across the line, so I'm getting all of it as far as I can tell. Doing 256 when I kick the boost. There may be a bit more, but I'm hanging it up for tonight.

I might have missed it in my search, but I didn't see proof of the 309. What's the official tally on this car? Are we keeping a chart for all these models on a webpage somewhere? That would be ideal.

I'm with you on the S2000 theory. I'm currently running the Sarthe 24 II in (bspec of COURSE!) in the black GT-1. The 88C-V is giving me fits. If I run on steady, he's holding pretty much even. If I run on fast, I pull away as long as my dude stays on the track, but he spends too much frickin time in the dirt! It's at nearly 7 hours and I'm only 38.342 secs ahead as I type this msg. :nervous: <biting my nails> I'd hate to lose this one and have to stoop as low as using the formula car. 36.777 second lead now...YIKES

Does it seem like the bspec driver doesn't push the top end of the cars down straightaways? Mine's only hitting about 235-237, but the car is capable of more....I drove it. 40.460.

Just finished the Sarthe...won by 3 laps+ finally. Winning combo was pace=3, tires=racing:hard. I had bad issues with Bob running into the walls (on both sides) on the back straight about once every 5 laps. The car was topping at 235 and d/f was set a few notches above minimum. Minolta was 2nd followed close by Sauber Merc. The Nissan R89 a few more laps back, then 787B a few more and the Jag was way behind due to spins on one of the north corners.

Nice speed, seeinstripes, welcome to the club. You'll find all the speeds here:

By the way, is someone giving Zonda's away for free?? :p This is the third Zonda submission in a week.

Also, you will have noticed the rather clumsy way I included the leaderboard above. :dunce: I tried every copy and paste I could imagine but could not get it to work so just showed it as a quote. What the heck do I have to do?

welcome ShocK~

well, it doesn't look like i'm getting gt4 til christmas

Thankyou!

So sad =\ I hope you get it as soon as possible :)

Yeah.. Another question i have: a Turbo helps the car on aceleration on higher RPM, but does it helps on top speed? Or Should i just go to an NA tuning lvl 3 will get me on more power and top speed?

I will start trying at the S2000.. as soon as i have some results, i will post it here.

And 2078TM, nice 370Mhp + speed huh? Well done man :)

Click the button on the reply pannel that has a picture of the world & a small paper clip (); a box will apper. Paste your link here. You can then change the part of the link not surrounded by "s to what you would linke the link to be called:
[e.g. URL="http://www.....com"]Click[/URL e.g.]
Hope that helps.

@ShocK- Stage 4 turbo is the preferred option for top speeds on most cars. The turbo suits this type of tuning because it aims at increasing peak power in the medium-high RPM range. As a very general rule, if your car can muster ~800 Hp, then it will be able to reach 300 mph- however this is not always the case!

@enzoadam- Always check the Leaderboard, via the link provided by 2078TM or in most established members' signatures. I believe the Saleen has never breached 300; stuck at something like 299.xx MPH.

The more topend power, the better. Basicaly, upgrade the car to its max in everything (you can forget the brakes) and then it comes down to tuning the transmission to get to those speeds.

I was wondering about the advantages of having a wheel vs running with the 'stick?' All I am working with is my tiny little stick :dopey: and I'm thinking it's pretty hard to keep a steady curve to keep speed climbing through the curve. What's the offical take on this?

Dayum! I'm gonna have to shoot a little higher with my Zonda. Are there any "standard" x-mission/suspension/driver aids etc... setups to get started tweaking the top end, or is all that forbidden fruit? Am I going to get lynched for asking? :nervous:

I just kinda threw together that 305.33 run without too much of an idea.

just tap the d pad. you cant just hold it at one position really, just kinda tap the d pad. the wheel is just waaaaay more precise because you have the full 2.5 turns lock-to-lock like a real car, wheres the stick is like an inche.

as for the trani, i usualy set the auto all the way up, make the lower gears as long as possible (and still decent accel) so that by the time you get to your higher gears, you can make them shorter and keep the car in its power band. then enough room in the last gear for n2o if you use it.

Yeah.. i understand! I really don´t think that the normal s2k can make up to 300Mhp. But maybe the Amuse S2000 Gt1.. as a race car can make it.. i will buy one.. and try.

I would LOVE to make that 3 models go catch 300Mhp:

- Honda S2000 (Any model)
- Porshe Carrera
- Mazda Rx-8

Do you think any of the other can go after it, Formula?

And i agree viperpilot.. it seems to be VERY hard to get the s2k to it. Btw, Nice speeds with the Viper.. i have read the posts of the time you where just trying to make it get that speed.. good job man! :)

Sure..
Ah, some another question:
About Ride height, and Downforce.. they sure help to get better traction and more speed on some cars, right?

Regards,

ShocK

Ill go playaround with a S2k later, but I highly doubt it can. But ive never messed with it.

low ride height, and low downforce = more speed

I will be glad if you share your results ^^

And thanks about the tips ^^

seeinstripes
I'm with you on the S2000 theory.

you say you agree with viper right?

Just don´t understood xD

But by now.. i think it can´t make it too, at all.

Its not working for me... I think you got the link wrong.

Hmmm... I tried it and it took me to what I assume the home page of where DE keeps the leaderboard. Then I tried the link again and checked the address which appeared to be correct. So I then clicked on it again it worked

I know this is a 300+ topic, but it's just so darn active and friendly, it might as well be the whole discussion board.

Maybe we can take this whole speed freak thing a step further. We could have price classes. Like this Taurus I got for a little over $13,000 (yea I know it's still a HUGE ripoff).

I tweaked with it for a while...started out at 204 on the first run. Do we have a 👍 for P.O.S. car category or a :grumpy: ?

There a few RX-8 models already on the Leaderboard, so some of the RX-8's are certainly able to go 300 MPH. I don't think the S2000 will be able to make it; the CTR2 has nearly 950 hp with every component, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's 300 MPH material.

I use the analogue stick, and well... I seem to do 'ok' with it...

For what it's worth, with a bit of practice, you can make smooth enough turns in my opinion. Unless you are ragged all over the place, it's unlikely to make a significant impact on the final speed. Making sure you get a good line through the corner makes more of a difference. 👍
