Are you doing this at Nurburgring or Test Course?

I'm afraid that with such a low HP figure and without adjustable downforce there is no way this car can even get close to 300.

Sorry, i used the wrong expression :)

I´m taking my cars to the Test Couse. More exactly to Power & Speed, Top speed Test. As the rules say to do x)

Update: 257.23Mph, and no more speed. Even with a oil change to get 10hp back.

Really, no enought hp to make it. But about the downforce, it is adjustable, but can´t pass a limit =\

I´m thinking about the Audi TT Touring car.. someone here has used him before?
 
By all means, 2078TM, don't stop doing videos for records - it's certainly comforting to see them, particularly in high-level road cars. It's not required by the rules as such, but it is helpful. And go easy on the corporal punishment, you could get addicted to that stuff :p

Some New Tests heh x)

I just bought a Nissan Skyline GTR.

After installing all the best parts, making oil change, etc, I have got 854hp.

I just setted the NOS to the max, Transmission on Auto 25 and started a first test.

259.2Mph.

Then, after a couple of runs , changes in the suspension, downforce, and transmission, i have started to get some speeds at ~270Mhp.

After a lot of testing and tuning, and with more pratice in handling the Skyline, and a precise timing to use the NOS, i have got the best time at the moment:

279.4Mhp.

Not impressive for a car with 854Hp. But i think i´m getting better in this hehe ^^

Now i´m going to try some car i´m sure that is in the 300Mhp club.. and see if i can get it to a better speed.

Hi Drivers =]

K. I make up my mind this time. After no good results after the runs in my 3 Honda S2K, and some into a Skyline, i decided to got a car that sure go to the 300Mph.

The car i like just as the S2000 is the Mazda Rx-8, so i get the Rx-8 Racing model. I´ve got all silver into the IB license while i was training, so i already have the Concept II model. I used it to win the Rx-8 races, and then i´ve got my Rx-8 racing.

I just tuned him up to 800+ Hp, and with basic configuration, i have got 276.22Mph. Not impressive, but nice for a basic configuration run.

I will work a lot with him now.. and i really hope to get it to 300Mph!

As soon as i have some news, i post here!

TM, no hard feelings on the mix-up. Like DE said, take it easy on the massachism, you might get addicted. :)

Now, for my latest go with the Jag. I thought I could get a couple more out of her, and did. Funny thing is, if I could get it out of the curve without hitting the wall, it would be a good bit faster. I fiddled with it for a good hour tonight to come up with 303.31:

It´s true. A couple of years out of the GT world has reduced a lot my skill x)
But i´m feeling that it is getting better x)
The S2000 i really think it´s not capable, but it can go a lot more faster with another pilot, i think.

The Rx-8 is getting on the way.. maybe soon i post my first 300+ screen here!

And weel done with the Jaguar man! Very Very good job with it.

Time to eat something (3am here lol) and to take some rest. Tomorrow i will get a hard battle to take it to the top.. but i think i´m on the way xD

@ Shock~: all Skylines that were used for 300mph-racing, were Skyline GT-R V-specII Nür versions, they put out the most power......

@ topgeardude: no one ever has brought the Escudo over 300mph legally, so i think it's wasted time!

And about my last results.. i´m almost at 290Mph with the Rx-8 LM edition..

So hard to get it there! But i will work till i get the mark x)

Tapping the d-pad is the worst thing you can do, especially if you've set the car up correctly to go fast. Correct me if I'm wrong, DE, but the car should be pretty loose/unstable by the time you come out of the curve to make it fast. Do you find the wheel to be much more precise (from the experience of a non-idiot)?

I think the whole stage 4/5 issue is a matter of personal preference, as I more often end up using the stage 4 in my setups. In fact, I'm pretty sure I used a Stage 4 in my Supra RZ tune, which I'm pretty sure is capable of taking the record back (if I can ever use the Supra again!).

I agree. It has to do with how you set the transmission up.

Looking over the leaderboard, I notice I have quite a lot of speeds to catch up with. Hmm... At least my good old Esprit speed is way out in front. :lol: I do, however, need to break out the Chappy.

i can't beleive i'm finally in the club, i nagged my friend into borrowing gt4, and i spent all morning on it:)

just a minute, i'll have verification when my digital camera battery charges, it went flat in the middle of transfer:grumpy:

can someone please help me with the Ford GT and Caddilac Cien? i'm sure they're quite capable:

I'd love to see someone take the beast over 300. I've yet to break 270 with it. The powerband is too narrow. Needs more bottomend torque to even stand a chance. It definately has the cojones, but it's too concentrated in the high rpm's.

No new attempts with Toyotas as of late.....I'd like to see more action up top.:dopey:
 
lthiele, why are you taking up scrollspace and bandwidth with sub-300mph speeds in one car we know is more than capable and one we think is not? You're 15mph out on the 'uncapable' car, and a full 30mph away with a perfectly good car, is there any need to take up space with the photos? Just trying to keep loading times down for those of us still on 56K dialup. Nice work, anyway 👍

Let us know how it goes, Toronado, although personally I'm not very hopeful :p
