Well, personally I would become pretty bored with having to just throw speeds on the Leaderboard without hearing about how people got there and what they did, and so on. Don't you want to see any background? I don't condone massive pictures of 270mph runs, but a 40k shot of a speed so close to 300mph is absolutely fine by me.dking
That's not the case at all - I would far rather hear about people's attempts, their progress and their feedback on the whole idea than just see a bunch of records being posted! Doesn't it make it much more personal? I love to hear people's experiences and stories as they teach themselves about, rather than ask for setups for, 300mph tuning. So, Ichi, keep it up, you're adding great flavour to the threaddking

So, i just think, what matter isn´t break the 300, is the battle to break it! Of course we all want to break it.. it´s the final reason after all, but that is nothing without a nice battle

I'm on a bit of a roll, though, the gearing is improving my speed every run. Off to have a break now, but I know I can get an improvement.

I suppose you're half-right, Car-less, but proving he's not quite there yet is exactly what he wanted to do! It wasn't a matter of us not believing him. However, posting full-size images isn't a great help to the margins or those using dial-up modems, so if we were to use thumbnails for such images it would be easier, I suppose. We usually do use thumbnails for all speeds, anyway.
EDIT - Got myself an RX-8 LM Racer, and after about an hour of tuning I'm now at 298.98mph. Nice number, but it could be faster

so i didn´t have much time to play and improve it.. also, it is very hard right now, each .01 mile is a victory xD
And only 0.60 from beating my record
Every tenth and hundreth is like pulling teeth once you get this close to the car's max potential.
I'm not sure how much more is in it - I think I stopped when I beat he previous record - but I doubt this car can get beyond the 301 range.

I just read the rules, and then get to my Gt4. What a nice challenge you have created, DE.
I just look down into the list. "Better start with low 300Mph cars, i think".
That´s why i just think that is more funny to take a not so powerfull car.
I just took up one of them that i already have at my garage, and after five hours of work, 2L of Coke and some donuts, this is what i´ve got:

Not bad at all.. but the things are hard to go up now.
That was after some sooo much oil changes.. and the car is starting to get with less HP then it can. Soon i will need another one!
Sorry by bad image. Just haven´t a good webcam. If it don´t let to read well, it´s a Mazda Rx-8 Concept LM Race car 01', at 299.35Mph. I know some people has taken it to 300Mph before, and i hope i can do it too, and join the club soon =]
