What is a realistic amount of extra speed a good set-up will add to the cars top speed? I've found a road car that achieved a top speed of 290mph with no tuning at all (except gears). Would a good set-up get this car over 300mph? (BTW. A wing cannot be fitted to this car)
Or would the results vary too much between cars?
Oh. I can guess what car you are using then. And if I'm guessing correctly (RUF CTR2), no, it can't do 300 MPH. It literally and figuratively hits an aerodynamic wall at 296. Just stops it in its tracks. If it could take 70 shot nitrous, it wouldn't be a problem (just like a few mid engine American cars that no-one better say the names for). But 50-shot isn't enough.
I have no life. Ask DE.Wow, I can't believe you knew what car I was using. Thanks for your help, you just saved me alot of time 👍
There is an Esprit that hasn't been used by me or Masterstorm that should quite easily pull 300. Just look for the '98 V8 SE in Used Car Lot II. Only one of the 3 road Vipers have been used, and I personally believe that all three can pull 300. There is probably some variation of Skyline that hasn't been used that can still pull 300MPH as well.mullen_powerDo you think there are some road cars still out there that haven't been used yet?

It really is2078TMEvery tenth and hundreth is like pulling teeth once you get this close to the car's max potential.
Hehe, I remember thatGT4_RuleReminds me of a time when I got 299.99mph on that car.

It hasn't been touched! Still at 298.98mph, I've been away from my PS2 for a couple of days, so, I might have some news tomorrowIchiAnyway, where is you DE? I´m sure you Rx-8 is about to take 301
Happy Birthday Ichi, sorry to be two days late![]()
I might have got to that speed slightly quicker than you, but I've almost ran out of tricks to use now! It's getting harder and harder, although I reckon I can at least get to 299.5mph in a few more runs.
It's nice to be in a little friendly battle like this once again![]()

Anyway, off I go... I seem to have caught a bit of a cold, but still I've got a party to go toso, until tomorrow...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!*cough*Saleen*cough*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
But seriously, I was more tramuatised by that Ford than the Saleen. At least the Saleen didn't have 3 different versions that would all stop at 298 and taunt me.
Yes. But it was my idea to try the GT road cars. And I fielded all three of them proudly until they hit 297/8 and started being bitter pieces of crap.Wasn't that my idea to try the GT racers?
Stars and Stripes nets you the Camaro LM Race Car.opendriver19aJust to wish you a merry X-mas, how about you try the skyline GTR race car?
The stars and stripes version
I took my TS020 to La Sarthe II with the same settings I used for this leaderboard (turbo and NOS) and on my first attempt did no better than 304At the Test Track this setup can go faster than that in 5th before hitting NOS.
About 20 minutes of fiddling with gearing and downforce got me to a top speed of 324MPH on the way to a (very evil and sloppy) 2:47:798 lap. Looking at the replay the nose of the car was pinned to the track until the top of the brow and then it would rise maybe two inches to aproximately its static attitude - despite adding rear and reducing front downforce.
How about someone try to hit 300mph on that bumpy 4 miles of Sarthe's straight?
At the end of the test, 300.14Mph!
ToronadoNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I know, that's why I only mentioned the Saleen - it's Christmas, I didn't want to be too harshToronadoBut seriously, I was more tramuatised by that Ford than the Saleen. At least the Saleen didn't have 3 different versions that would all stop at 298 and taunt me.
Hope I've got here quick enough, happy Christmas to you too! 👍IchiDE, i´m just about to travel to another state of my country, and i think i will not have access to internet there.. so i will only be back at 26/12. If we don´t meet eachother before that, a happy X-mas to you friend!
There is probably some variation of Skyline that hasn't been used that can still pull 300MPH as well.
The RX-7 LM racecar has done it too, Leon
As for my RX-8, well, after almost an hour I've managed to get her up to 299.50mph. And now I'm really running out of ideas... I think a total re-gearing will be needed to get any more out of her.

New project!300 mp/h RUF Yellowbird,it shall be done, but only after i have to bring NFS carbon back to the rental place.
That advice sounds a bit familiar... 👍good luck with the RX-8 LM D.E., maybe play a bit with toe-settings or so......
