*sigh*
I was often against the flow as far as tyres are concerned.. But yes, it's undeniable that they do help your speed, mostly corner exit. I maintain that if the track was straight, however, Super Hards would be faster than Qualification rubber.

Everything matters except brake settings (because you don't use the brakes when trying to go faster), and I think LSD Deceleration (as it's only applied when the car is slowing down). Every other setting can make the car faster or slower. You don't necessarily have to try every single combination out though, as the basic rules tend to be somewhat similar for all cars, and then you just tweak one settings slowly and monitor any changes (ie: you use trial and error).well thats all i can think of...is there anything else that you can adjust? or is just that every single part matters...because that would be a pain in the ass to adjust and try out all the combos
Yes. I don't currently have it, nor does any Squadron member, so go ahead and see if there's more to be hadMSIs that a challenge?👍
How else do you think we've been here for a year and a half, and we're still breaking each others' records?lazyslacker700that would be a pain in the ass
Well... there was certainly more to be had! I wonder what the Skyline Squadron are going to think about this...Yes. I don't currently have it, nor does any Squadron member, so go ahead and see if there's more to be had👍
Generally, the racing suspension can be set softer that the original suspension, making it more suitable for high speed tuning. I have a feeling you have more flexibility in the range of settings for things like ride height too, though I'm not sure. I think I have at least one car using the sports suspension too, based on the same reasons (can be set softer).I would ask whether you used Racing or Original Suspension, or Stage Four or Original Turbos, but... I've always discouraged sharing information![]()
Funnily enough, it smells like high-octane race fuel...Viperdo i smell a Skyline-war here?![]()
I've been trying to break 300 in the Saleen S7, seeing as it's not on the list yet.
I got 290 with medium sport tires, long gears, lowest ride height, and really stuff springs (18 or 20).
With the "simulation" tires the car always spins out, and in 6th gear with a 60 shot of NOS gives the same result.
It's really hard in a car with no extra downforce.
Conventional NASCAR wisdom says tires with less traction let you maintain a higher top speed through the corners (which is what I did for my Escudo in GT3).
I'll try later if softer tires help or hurt.
Although I could have the setup completely wrong.
I made this video a week ago, just messing around. It' skinda long and blurry as crap. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/59032372-ffb1-4c21-a452-98ef00fb5636.htm (Yes, I know I can't go backwards to get on the list.)
Initially I was having trouble keeping the car in it's sweet spot when shifting from 5th to 6th. By using 5 gears, I was able to cover the entire back straight on a single gear, eliminating that problem. I reached 320.81mph using a 6 gear setup, and it was after doing that run that I decided to try 5 gears. Of course, using 6 gears should yield an overall better acceleration down the straight (and thus a higher top speed) if I can reduce the impact shifting was having for me.I'm intrigued that you only used five gears, but anyway...
I figured the Saleen wouldn't even be close to making 300. (mostly cause it wasn't on the list) but I may have to try that later on. It will be a few days until I can give a report on it since I am racing the formula Gt and it is kind of time consuming.
MStromTheres always other cars I can turn to...
It is, in fact, quite close - although not as close as the 300ZX was for some time.05GT05I figured the Saleen wouldn't even be close to making 300. (mostly cause it wasn't on the list)
I know exactly what you mean. I'm using six gears at the moment, and catching up to you - however, tuning the LSD will be extremely hard when the runs are so unpredictable. The huge dip the car experiences on shifting is certainly not ideal, but I'll put up with it for a while longer.MSInitially I was having trouble keeping the car in it's sweet spot when shifting from 5th to 6th.
