Rac3rX I don't care how much you shout or insult, the TVR Speed 12 car in the game was never made for the road and so it is not a road car. Nice to see you've calmed down a bit.

Leo, go for it with the Supra we still need a confirmed 300mph run with it! The 297mph wall will be overcome with the Esprit fairly easily! :p

To all who got 300mph in the Speed 12, especially Lycanthor as it's not a great first time car, congratulations! I still haven't done it because I class it as a waste of money :p but if I see a V8S at a used car garage I'll buy that and win the Speed 12 with it :sly: !

In the Game its the TVR Cebera Speed 12, and its a Production Car

Here is all the Proof one would need as the TVR Cebera Speed 12 Article is the Launch article of the Production Road car, the one used in the game.

The article on the Speed 12 explains how great a car but never going to production, but supeceded by the TVR Cebera Speed 12

Oh it's definately a Supercharger. Maybe it's because I drove it over 45mph during the first 2000 miles? Isn't that a no no? :) Seriously though it has 1136hp.

Thats the right amount of Hp, It should work, or your not shifting/Nossing at the right time.


Or take off any ASM as that will slow your speed arround the banked turn slowing your exit speed. :crazy: :sly:
 
OMG I feel really dumb now. I just realized that the car didn't shift into 6th gear! I went 297mph in 5th gear!! (Beat that.) Anyway, do I just keep going around till hit shifts into 6th... reach max speed without NO2, then hit it when I come into a straight?

Try using a manual tranny......

ALL my settings are for Manual transmitions

Hit the NoS in 5th Right before you exit, and upshift to 6th at 290mph, never letting go of the NoS

WOOT! MT was the ticket! I couldn't get it to work they way you said by upshifting at 290 though. Upshifting dropped my speed down alot then when I hit 302, the car seemed to let off the gas and slowed itself down to 298 like it had a governer or something; I even still had some NoS left! Anyway:

I'll do my best. swapping tires from R1's to R5 gave that little nudge in speed. still trying.. :trouble: 299.85..! :dopey: oh so close!

299.98 :irked: damnnn.. so close.. few more tries and i'm there. :crazy: :dopey:

Yeah, I got the Speed 12 Confirmed at 304mph in April, I actually think she can go a Bit faster but have had so many other cars to tune since then, I figure to be Satisfied with 304mph, Ill let somebody else top it with her before I start tuning her for more speed.
 
Gonna give it another run on sunday, because I'm off to bed now, and tomorrow I'll be away from my dear PS2 for two days. oh well, my loyal "LM Supra" will wait me. :) now I know that I CAN reach 300 mph with this car.. and it'll be first car with less than V8 that has reached 300 mph.. not counting 787B though.. :dopey: cya soon!

Dumb question but would a time made on Circuit de la Sarthe II count? thats the track i tune my cars for ... and test them on ... granted its a bit bumpy but thats one long straight away


nevermind .... only way to confirm is to take a pic while driving and my camera couldent do it lol frigg'n thing was too blurred at 240mph

Its too bumpy to get any Top Speed records. Its really a bumpy track and 250mph + becomes VERY unstable.
 
ive hit 280 on it just took a bit of work to keep it on the road mainly cause i got this DS2 .. an old worn out DS2 lol but still not as bad as the one GT2 killed ... thing never worked right after i played GT2

Dont get me wrong, Im not saying 250mph + is not possible. Im saying cars getting at those speeds are too unstable. 300mph+ will be dificult, Top Speed records on 4 wheels or wheelies are Imposible.
 
Just checked your video Rac3rX of the GT-One 348mph run, and have a couple of comments.

If you do the normal Top Speed run in the conventional anti-clockwise manner, your end result will be about 3mph slower than if you use your method of doing the lap in reverse. At Top Speed the run stops your speed well short of the end of the straight. Doing it your way gives you another 100+ metres of extra running room.

When I take a car from the Top Speed run to full laps of the Test Course, I regularly reach 3mph or more at the very end of the straight, compared with the Top Speed run's cut-off point. For example, in the Chaparral 2D, at Top Speed I get in the mid 307s (so far), but at full laps of Test Course I always see 310mph flash up at the end of each straight (and that's for lap after lap after lap, because I'm not using nitrous!)

So if that's your method for scoring top speeds, I think it would be fair to offer you a special bonus 3mph discount on all your claims. So that was a nice 345 you got there in the reverse-direction GT-One, mister.

Anyone else going to own up to doing their runs this way?
 
yea i would have to agree .... just had my lotus elise sport 190 at 220mph and holy crap ... i forgot how bad that was at high speeds cause i havent played in a long time lo


i cant wait to get a DFP and do that with the FFB

Going in reverse is only during "Speed Test" If you hit it in the Driving Park there is no cut off.

Its the Top speed reached, Everybody Knows you go revers to get a few extra feet of track before the cut off (In life there is no cut off) Everybody is welcome to do it and has been for a long time.

Actually Ive Hit 354mph with her 6 months ago, I just dont got the patience to keep running it to get the speed again.
 
Couttsey's fastest run in the Minolta is done the conventional way, if you check his video replay. All my runs are from a standing start going the conventional way.

From my association with other websites, your "reverse" method for doing Top Speeds is not on. But as you cheerfully post your video for all to see I of course accept that you do sincerely believe this method to be legit.

Seeing as how this is DE's thread, I'd be interested to hear his opinion on this one.

If Toronado is reading this, and as he and I are involved in a bit of good fun with the Lotus for road car top speed, I'd be interested to hear how he does his runs. I'm hoping that it's a standing start, going the 'normal' anti-clockwise route, like a gentleman should.

The TVR Speed 12 will be catagorised as a racing car. It always has been a racing car here and nobody else has ever had a problem with that. It is simply too powerful in it's modified state to be classed as a road car. I repeat, the TVR Speed 12 will be catagorised as a racing car.

I have noticed several unorthodox things about Rac3rX's run by simply looking at the video picture, for one he is going backwards around the circuit, and for another he is not using Top Speed Run, but he is actually in a race of some form and has deliberately ran the car out of fuel in order to make it lighter... Whilst all this is very clever I'm not entirely sure if it's allowable because any runs done in this way will have no means of verification... Going backwards is not allowed, and the runs mustbe done in Max Speed run at the Test Course if they want to be put on the leaderboard, because any other method is not accurate enough. (^^There you go Ozmac 👍 ) Rather than the "3mph discount on claims" idea, (nice one though!) all runs made going backwards will be disallowed completely, as will any runs not made in Max Speed run mode.

Leo, keep it up with the Supra, you cannot get that close and not do it, this is killing me! Go for it! :sly: bet you can't beat my record with the 787B as the slowest on the board! :lol:

Welcome Earth. (Were you just surfing or did you follow my links?:)) Well done on your GT-One run, that is the fastest run in that car, if you can post a picture or video to prove it, preferably video for the car's wheelie tendancy.. Posting settings is pretty unreliable. I guess from the accuracy you were in Max Speed run, but which way were you going?

Sorry I was never clearer on this whole thing with reversing, I did not think I needed to be as the current world land speed record (hail Couttsey) was done properly, i.e. forwards around the track, in Max Speed Run.

Congratulations to all who have improved their speeds with the TVR, maybe it has more in itself than we thought back in September :)

Cobra427, I think you're much better off at the Test Course, because of the sheer instability of the Sarthe. I think the bumps really do cancel out the extra length, and getting a speed-tuned car through sectors one and two or the Sarthe is not pretty :crazy:!

yea it is way too rough but im still gonna do it cause its fun :) ... i noticed there was like a 10mph loss on that track with my Espirit compared to the Test Track ....


still cant hit 300

sofar my best is 291.32 with my Option Z

then my 98 Espirit V8 SE at 290.72


driving me crazy ive beefed up every car in my garage now lol .... even that funky red V16 that looks like a Ferrari mated with a Lambo .... that made it to around 250
 
dont know how you guys get them that fast ... best i can do with my Minolta is 313.32 mph then i run out of nitro .... make the gears any longer and i cant even get to that
 
added some downforce and for some reason now im gett'n a constant 331.64 ... id take a pic but the batts died when i was try'n to take a vid and its 4:39 am lol
