few little bolt-ons and nawzz.. and then, some luck/patience with settings. that's how it happens. well done. but, almost any racecar can be spanked beyond 300 mph, but I'm going to do it on streetcar.. no matter what.. :dopey:

I've taken the road car record back from Ozmac! Not only that, but I did it a little over in case Ozmac came back.
Lotus Esprit Sport 350: 311.11 MPH!

Apparently, I need to resize the pic. It'll be up ASAP.

hmh.. okies, I will try some other road car.. those which have broken the 300 mph barrier have been quite obvious ones..

Nice one Toronado... I think Ozmac no longer has any of our records... If he's still floating around this thread he'll have something to add :p

ls2_297, welcome to the 300mph club. I think that may be the record for that particular car... Only one other person has tried it, I cannot remember for the life of me who (maybe M5_dude)... Anyway, you'll be on the leaderboard by later today.

Viper, my R8 record hasn't shifted at all, still on 326.XX... I'll try to get some time in soon. The thing is I don't really want to put too many miles on it because I'm a bit short of four and a half million to replace it... :indiff: :) oh well!

You think so? I wouldn't say the Esprit is that obvious... I didn't think of it for a start!

Sorry for not replying sooner, I've been at the Margam Park Twisty Sprint race meeting all weekend and I forgot to tell ya's :ouch: oh well here I am again now ready to take back some records!

DE

actually viper....if you want to beat the r8 record...you'll have to go through me, as i currently hold that cars record....but hey, good luck and have at it....muhwahahaaa :sly:

Yes, Esprit was quite obvious, because it was so ridiculously fast already in GT3 . And it has good aerodynamics, MR layout, twinturbo V8, light weight.. = fast car. Am I right when I say that there's no single car in the club with less than V6 or inline-6, and most of in-club record breakers are racecars..?
That's why I'm trying different choices. ZZ-II and Supra RZ were so damn close, but the gearbox and powerband did cut them off just 3 mph away from the goal.. :ouch:

The problem is, that roadcars do have plenty of weight, that prevents them from accelerating as fast as their race-bred brothers. Their aerodynamics haven't been planned for top speed, but for silent, comfortable ride. That's why it is The Challenge.. and my obsession.

omg, I think I hear my GT4 calling me back to test track.. laters. :trouble:

Yeah we know Low, I didn't need reminding :) what Viper means is to see if I've got any further... We seem to have a quiet competition going :sly:

Leo, I never drove the Esprit much in GT3 so I suppose I wouldn't have seen it as a prospect... and correct, there is no car here with anything smaller than a V6 or a Straight-6 because of the way smaller engine's rev bands are... Plus, not many cars built for speed bother with less than six cylinders.

(Leaderboard being updated.)

*nods* but it's quite equal with the rest of the lot. actually, if i recall right, it has less torque than the others..

Actually, these two combined to be a pain in the ass, as the Esprit possesses aerodynamic lift at speeds above 200 MPH (and the Sport 350 possesses it above 215 MPH), and not the wheelie kind. The kind that does this:
CLRflip1.jpg

I had to add downforce to get that high.
You are right on everything else. You forgot one thing though: the torque curve that seems to be made for high speed runs (even though the car tops out a 175 stock!)
Edit: I'm also greedy. I want the R92CP record as well (barring Ozmac's BS time)
So here:
10035247rs.jpg

It says
336.22 MPH (TSO20)
334.38 MPH (R92CP)
330.69 MPH (Minolta)

Ah, how many times have I seen that picture Toronado! The old CLK-LMs were notorious for that
Toronado
It says
336.22 MPH (TSO20)
It says you beat me.. :irked: I'll have to get my old TS020 (note - TS*zero**two**zero* not TSO*two**zero* I do that a lot too  ) to something stupid like 340... Which would make it faster than my 88C-V. Not surprising since the latter has 1700miles on it. :dunce: oh wait, the TS020 has 40,000miles on it! Oh well. That begs the question as to whether your TS020 is a Black Beauty or not?

True, I did not think of the JGTC-class Supras, but that does explain why the Woodone sounds so much better than the rest :p

Oh yeah Greycap, have you been floating all this time or have you only just started checking this?

DE

i m gonna try to get 300 mph out of the TVR cerbera Speed 12 wish me luck

Update:
Unfortunatley I ve failed can any one give me some advice on how i could get 300 mph out of it or another race car ?

good points you got there.

oh well.. gotta keep trying on supra and maybe later on ZZ-II.. at the moment I'm bit pissed off, since such supercars as Saleen S7 and RUF CTR AWD couldn't get even near of 300 mph.. and japanese 3l rwd sportscar can..?! BS, I say.. :grumpy: it seems that polyhony has been pulling the performance just a wee bit towards home.. :dopey:

I've been around for quite a long time. If you mean that V8 thing, I know someone said it earlier but I thought it was worth mentioning again. 👍

well im not in the 300 club but i will be soon ... havent played GT in ages it seems ... been depressed about it ever since my Memcard got wiped clean

All i really have to test right now is a couple low end cars :/

in 3rd is my Mitsu HSR-II at 277.11mph
in 2nd is my Mitsu 3000GT VR-4 (J) at 284.03mph
in 1st is my OPTION Stream Z at 291.32mph 272.04mph without Nos

till i can get my hands on some decent cars again thats the best i can do lol

Greycap, sorry I should've been more specific... I meant in this thread (I know you've been at GTP about as long as I have), as in have you been checking the thread since early on?
By the way, there's some great photos in your gallery 👍

British GT craz, I really wouldn't recommend the Speed 12 as your first 300mph car... What did you get up to? If you really want a British car that's fairly easy to get to 300 try the Bentley Huandaries... Or as PD and everyone else who didn't see it at concept stage :sly: call it, the Speed 8. Maybe the Esprit 350 but that's nearly as taxing as the Speed 12.

Leonidae, hasn't someone got an S7 to 300? *checks list on site* Nope my mistake. I bet it can do it though, I just don't have the cash to try!

cobra427, nice speed with the 3000GT is my first thing. I live in permanent fear of my memory card screwing me over so I have a backup card :) much safer!
I think I tried the HSR-II thing... Cool airbrakes all over it LOL but not very fast. I didn't put much effort into it.

DE

Yep, I meant this thread too. Not from the very beginning I think but for a quite long time. BTW, whenever you visit my gallery, don't just visit, leave a comment too! ;)

Oh OK Greycap sorry I'm not paying too much attention today for some reason :dunce: I haven't seen the update for your gallery yet so after the link I go 👍 I keep meaning to leave comments but I have not only a temperamental (sp?) memory but a temperamental connection too :ouch: :)

nope, S7 can not do it, since all the torque resides at mid range.. thus, at high speed and high revs, you're out of power and torque, even with nos. :indiff:

Mmmm... Where's the power band in relation to the torque? I hate it when cars end up with the torque miles from the power....

DE

miles away of eachother, thanks to that all american big block V8.. :indiff: if i recall right, the torque is around 4k rpms.. and the power is somewhere around 6-7k. and it remains same no matter if you have turbo or NA tuning kits on it.. :grumpy:
same thing with RUF's..

That and the fact that it has so much downforce. I'm with you on this. I too tried to get it up there and failed.
Oh, and DE? The TS020 (better?) is a black beauty.

Leo and Toronado, OK fair enough glad I never bought one just for the looks and noise  How fast did you each get?

2of9, well done! That car's been decided as the fastest discovered roadcar, and 310 is possible with it, so try for that 👍 and if you post a picture as proof you'll go on the leaderboard too!

DE

I got it around 260-290 mph.. don't remember for sure, since I deleted the result.. and avoid XJ220 too. yes, it has high end torque, but 5-speed box makes it too slow in acceleration.

OK, I must check this topic more often... If you read my original post carefully I clearly state that no speeds acheived through use of the wheelie glitch are to be counted...

JTSnooks, that's a good try at finding a loophole but I was using the "no-holds-barred" phrase to permit NOS. However, the wheelie trick is very clearly glitch exploitation so no speed using the wheelie trick is acceptable. :yuck:

Super_Adam, I feel sincerly sorry for you if you can't beat the Clubman Cup without trippin on NO2.

us3rX, Congratulations! You beat my first speed over 300mph by 0.02mph!! Nice work. :)

mmcm80, I have today got the 88C-V to the speed of 307.64mph, and it can do a lot more. I predict I could do 320mph in it. Very well done anyway, you hold the current GT4 World Speed Record! 👍

I intended to do a lengthy report on how I did this, but I will cut straight to the chase - I got the Toyota TS020 (GT-One) to a speed of 305.18mph. :sly:

I also increased my 88C-V speed to 307.64mph. :sly:

Ive gotten My Speed 12 & Toyota Supra past 300mph no wheelie about 6 months ago, bolth Street cars. However Iwasnt the first to break 300, I did use my own settings to do so. I was the first to break 310mph NO wheelie & set the Bar at just over 350mph, & First to Break 380mph with a wheelie. Click here for 304mph Speed 12 Settings

The Minolta Ive Gotten into 330mph No wheelie

GT-one Ive gotten 350mph No wheelie 380mph + with a wheelie

Just to set the record straight

All setting Pics and Proof in the Link in my sig.
