Yeah, going to see if I can get 349ish with it. Also in the future im going to go for the lowest 300mph speed. Dont know if I can go lower than 300.03 though
No! Why? I've retained that title for five months, don't go taking it away from me :( (Besides, it's not that impressive to actually aim for the lowest speed!)

Thanks for answering that, GT4_Rule.
Anything that brings more 300mph candidates to the thread :)

I'm not sure I'd call 347mph close to the record... That extra 22mph is the hardest you'll ever have to gain. My R8 is at 351mph, but I don't think it'll be taking any records :p

Good improvements Opendriver, updating now...

EDIT - Leaderboard Updated. Opendriver : You're too close to Toronado's R92CP to let him stay in front

Hahaha! Are you trying to get as close to 350 as possible, so you won´t have to post a vid? You know, I´ve done that, thats why my R92CP speed is only 348.95, instead of the 351.xx that I have done without confirmation. Can´t post vids, so all my 350+ speeds are off :grumpy:
Maybe I should join you for the "least fast" project, as I have already done the 300.03 speed in my SRT 10. A new project and a "slowest" speed, perhaps?

Ah c'mon guys, let me stay at the bottom of the 300mph table, it humbles me :)

Team666, it's all very well doing that until you need 350mph to get in the top ten, then I imagine people will find video cameras :p

Ok then. Im eather going to have to pay someone to make a video of my replays or do it myself. Seeing the GT1 is more than capabale of 350+ with out lifting the wheels(rac3rx's speed of 368.XX) Why cant you make one exception for this one car? My personal best is 363.09!

I would love to "find" a cam! That would get my Bentley to the top five! Oh well, maybe next paycheck...

Hmmm, maybe we should let you keep the slowest fast speed. If it keeps you humble. :sly:

Yeah- that would be nice to just "find" a cam.
What I might sugest doing is get a semi desent digital camera that is able to record video. The topspeed replays are around a minute or so, yeah, thats what I MIGHT be doing. Thats also a suggestion to other out there!

It's been awhile since I've posted on this thread but I remember there was a link up to the list of members and the cars they used, is that still around?

Many things have been discovered by me.
  1. The McLaren F1 GTR is a bastard. I hate it so much.
  2. The Panoz Esperante GTR-1 is, for how very slow it is in real life, very fast in GT4
303.94 MPH, McLaren F1 GTR "Longtail"

311.97 MPH, Panoz GTR-1

Also, be prepared for some revelations in a particular road car soon.

Well rules are rules! Whether you like them or not!
That's a little harsh, and I do make very occasional exceptions, but 360mph+ needs a video, sorry :guilty:

Yep, see my sig :) Good to see you drop by again! 👍

Nice going Toronado, I'm not going to try and catch your McLaren because I had much the same experience with it! Updating Leaderboard...

I made a mistakes by oil changing my R92CP :ouch: !. The car start flying when I hit NOS...... This means I can't proof my 340mph run, the best I can do with 100hp more is 318 mph no wheelie (I only got 1/2 hour testing it).
I don't know oil change can ruin my setting :(. I don't think I can be in the list soon :(.

Here what I use:
spring 12/12
ride height max/min
NOS: 70
downforce: min/max
gear: tranny trick, lowest final drive.
5th 1.000 (349mph), 1.010 (345mph), 1.020 (342mph).

This is fine with 1152hp R92CP, but it goes wheelie with more hp (1200hp+).
After reading some of the post here, downforce seem to have different optimum value for each car, maybe I'll try experimenting different downforce combination next (don't know when :( ).

I´ve never heard that an oilchange screws your car! Did you do something else to it? Is the rollcage fitted? If it is, that is your problem.

I usually start out having DF at max front and back, and work my way down in the front. But usually, the group C cars start wheeling at 59-60 values in the front, so a min setting is out of the question for me. But using a 12/12 may prevent wheelies to some extent, so I think it´s time to do some testing here...:)

Yeah, it happens. Sometime, if a car is really close to the wheelie point with bad oil, the extra power opened up by cleaner oil pushes the car beyond the wheelie point, making the front lift. So, remove some rear downforce suchayo, and you should be back where you were :)

Leaderboard Updated (Yeah, it took eleven hours :p)

DE

suchayo- if you are using the black r92 or the red, white, and blue one with 8500 miles or more on it, you could just let your b-spec driver drive it until the oil is dead, without ruining your horsepower from milage (don't do this if you have a new r92)

DE- I was bored so I organized your car lists alphabetically...:p
Audi R8
Bentley Speed 8

Got back into high speeds, but in an odd way...
I hit 317 in 3rd gear with the TS020, kinda different....
I might post a pic/vid later, but at the moment I'm too lazy

So about a week ago I went on my own personal 300mph test. Finally I have some pictures. I remember reading somone about trying to get as close to 300 as possible, well my first time i ever broke 300, it was 300.01. Now you have to be dead on to get lower.

I don't know if it has any rollcage.
About spring rate, we use different sacrifice. In GT2 a wheelie can be reduced with:
1. downforce
2. power
3. spring rate
4. ride height

Thanks, I will play with downforce next :).

Now im going to have to go for 300.00 even
that is going to be really hard:grumpy: :dunce:

Cheers CoolGeekz! I'll factor that in at the next update, that's a big help, thanks a lot! 👍

What? It looks like people have decided to ignore my previous post... Now I no longer hold the base spot... Now I'm gonna go and sulk. I was proud of that spot - it held me at the bottom of the leaderboard despite being the one who started it all, which was a humbling irony... :(

I haven't got time to update the leaderboard right now. And I intend to get my 787B to do 300.00mph. Won't be too hard.

DE

Thank you, I'm sure that helped! 👍 But... There's no need...

Leaderboard Updated

STLbarcelona, your 300.01mph in the R8 isn't actually going on the leaderboard because you have a faster speed in the same car, so in actual fact I still hold the bottom place :D

DE

*1. All speeds must be proven by photograph to go onto the leaderboard. All record-breaking speeds and any speed exceeding 350mph must be proven by video.*

Can people still get onto the leaderboard on terms of honesty?

*2. At no point in your run must any of the car's wheels leave the track*

Oh stinkers... I did 350mph in a wheelie...

What is a recommended setting for max speed without a wheelie?

Stupid oil change . . . .

Oh and by the way, might want to edit the leaderboard. My 305.70 speed was in the Bentley, not the R8.
