^ no worries, no inside joke there. it just happens to be that Mitsubishi 3000GT has better aerodynamics than Supra nor Skyline. and it's engine get's slightly more bhp in full tune, especially if it's 6.2 miler. Supra's best power is around 904bhp, if I recall right, and 3kGT's best bhp is 913. true, 3kGT is heavy, but it also has quick feet. ;)

Hi people

In a little attempt of the 300mph challenge, I took the 88C-V out with good results and 305.12 mph on super soft tyres, and a 3.230 final ratio and similar setup as Dark Elite was running. Trying it with my R8 now.

Yet another 300+ miler...

This is really getting popular, dont you think, DE? Glad you made this thread and the leaderboard, really

Welcome to the thread, T4_GTR (and nice name, too  ). Let me know how the R8 testing works out! 👍

Congrats on this monstrosity known as the 300mph thread, DE.
 :)

In fact, thank you all for your participation. Yeah, OK, this is going to sound like a speech... :)

I'm really amazed by the participation in this thread, and commitment to reaching your targets you guys show, I know some serious time and effort has gone into rising just one spot on the Leaderboard in a lot of cases!

The atmosphere is, almost always (old hands here know what I mean), brilliant, and when the battles like the race for 300mph in the VW Nardo, and the first 300mph Road Car were going on, the people involved were trying so hard to be the first to do it, and even when someone was beaten they always took it well.
The ongoing battles are great too, like Toronado's and Ozmac's Chaparral war, which covered several months, and the Esprit races. Things like this define friendly competition!

There's now a hundred and thirty-seven entries on the Leaderboard, and more than thirty different cars have been taken to 300mph and beyond.

The fights up at the top end, though, were always the most exciting. When the thread was still fairly new, and we were still pushing the boundaries of GT4's physics as far as we could, the amazement shared by us as an incredible new World Record came out was a great thing to be a part of.

But even now, when the World Record proves almost unassailable, we are still coming up with new cars to take to the 300mph barrier, and the competitions for the fastest speed in particular cars still carry on, through more than two thousand posts.

So, I call all of the Members of the Three Hundred Mile Per Hour Club to do what you always have done, make me proud :)

hi Dark Elite, i'll post my R8-speed tomorrow, now i'm to busy, to upload the pic with my current v-max. but as an information: only with oil-change and nos, i hit 313,97mph. do the pic has to show km/h or mph??

viper

Preferably miles per hour, Viper - we don't know what conversion system GT4 uses, so we have to let the game do it for us so it's fair :) Keep me posted!

DE

DE.....I am truly honored to be a part of the greatest thread in history. Thanks man.

This thread needs to be stickyfied.

Thank you both, GT4_rule and Crimson. :) 👍

Have you done anything more with your Audi yet, Crimson? I haven't managed to get mine any higher. But I think it needs an oil change, or else I'm getting permanent power loss :odd:

DE

Well.....I just bought a new one when my old r8 started to die. That could fix your problem. Also....I've changed my oil after every run in that car(old GT3 habit)and I've found no loss in performance.

And no, I haven't with the R8. I'm stuck with the C9 and trying to get that beast over 340.

Yes, I will probably need to buy a new one. My current car has well over two thousand miles on it (all of which are mine :D), so it will be starting to wear out now. But, it's a special car to me so I'm not sure I want to buy a replacement. Plus, it would take either an excess of B-Spec or five hours to get the cash.
I could always memorycard-clone it, by buying it onto one of my other memory cards and back again, which I'm told sets the mileage to zero. There's a lot of complicated rules I've set for myself on my new save, which include not using N2O, so speed tests have to stay on my old file anyway! I'll find a way around it somehow :)

DE

Good luck with your new game. Just bspec the nurb enduro. That should get you plenty of dough. Your new save sounds strict.

I heard that buying from your own game doesn't set it to zero - and even if it does it probably wont recover the lost power, since you are buying it from yourself in the used form.

As DE Said

“When the battles like the race for 300mph in the VW Nardo, and the first 300mph Road Car were going on, the people involved were trying so hard to be the first to do it, and even when someone was beaten they always took it well. Yes, well done, DE, itÂ’s been a fine thread, and the Chaparral war aint over, either. But, on this occasion, could I ask for a minor correction to the leaderboard? I passed ToronadoÂ’s time for the Nardo quite a while ago and you didnÂ’t notice at the time. Undoubtedly busy with all the thread action. So letÂ’s celebrate competition for its own sake by correcting the record.

303.71mph.... I'm sure Toronado could do better....

Toronado, emm.. well, looking at your sig reminded me.. in the latest local GTi mag we had a review of FIAT 1/9X.. fully modded. 550bhp from 2l 16 valve turbocharged twincam, and top speed of 180mph, proven by police..

Sure Dark Elite. good idea this 300mph business and good for crashing on test course on highest crash competition.
I'll keep everyone posted on the R8 testing.
So far 297.63mph
a little tweaking and we should be there.
Good luck to everyone if your trying this out.
Post me if you want settings.

Cheers

The name is Skyline Related. Ooohhhhhhhhhhhh Yeah! (Oo\_______/oO)

anyone able to give me a road car for 300mph? Currently just started on the TVR Cerbera (without NOS = 267.89mph)

T4 GTR
my R8 has borken the 300mph barrier! Working for 310mph.
Any comments are welcome

No B-Spec :)

The game doesn't know it's from myself, because it's from one of my cards to the other, so it should do it... :dopey: I hope!

Welcome back Ozmac, we've missed the constant record updates  sorry about that leaderboard omission! Correcting with your new one now...

And you, Toronado. Thanks 👍

Good going, Viper - close to the 350mph barrier, reckon you can break it? :sly: Nice run.

The name is Skyline Related. Ooohhhhhhhhhhhh Yeah!
I'm obsessed with Skylines enough to recognize it at a glance :D
Good luck with your R8! 👍 *reads second post* Congrats! The Cerbera is capable, keep it up :)

You're getting ever closer to the 350 mark, Viper! Keep me posted, I might have more competition if you keep gaining! 👍

EDIT - I can't update the leaderboard at the moment... The server's undergoing some maintenence, so I'll get the changes prepared and factor them in ASAP. I'll let you know :irked:
