It works here, I can vouch the screen shows 323.27mph as the speed.
Thanks, but I'd still like it re-uploading. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Opendriver
Slightly above tornado's speed; 320.33 no nos:
<legitimate run video>
If you're going to steal the Grinch's record, please try spelling his name correctly! Good run, though 👍

Leaderboard Updated
For the 200th time! Good to see an outright record broken on the update-anniversary :)

i dont know if anyones askd about this yet but i didnt wana search every page, but do speeds count if you draft from other cars in a race? thats the only way ive managd so far in my speed 12 i got like 303.xxmph

Keep going opendriver:),, Great Vid mate..

About drafting Korn,, I believe there isn't really a rule against it,, but I think it shouldn't be allowed,, cause every single one of our speeds is made during a Top speed run on the Test course,, And the pics need to be of the 'end of run screen' were it shows your speed,, But it's DE's call of course:)..

And here are some new speeds,, + the old Mazda pic,, I hope you can see it now DE:(

Mazda 797B race car: 323.27MPH

Nissan r390 GT1 road car: 310.14,, Worst quality ever:)

AMG merc Clk gtr race car: 331.32mph (I believe a new record) :D

nice new speeds Deathwish.......well done 👍

maybe i'll strike back with the RX-8, we'll see!

great job with the no-nos-speed opendriver! 👍

The Merc CLK record was lower than I thought it seems... I think I might have beaten it a few days ago not realising! :dunce:

I'll check what my setup was getting later today.

HI! I found this cool post just as an accident. I would like to get my Toyota GT-One TS020 to do 350mph but i have no idea how to tune it ..I got it to 310mph just by screwing around a bit. I dont care about the records or anything , could anyone just give me the settings so i could do 350mph? So if it's not a huge secret or something please post or email me the 350mph settings for Toyota GT-One TS020, thanks :) drjekyll11@gmail.com

Asking for settings is a like that is a little to blunt
  1. Your a new member
  2. This is your first post in this thred
  3. I you read everything in post #1, you know all of the rules
  4. Sharing 350+mph settings is somewhat frowned apon by some people(at least me anyways...)

I sugest you look in some people sigs where they might have the setting your looking for

So please, read all of the rules and have fun!

I m not gonna take part in this competition, I just wanna go fast. In fact, as soon as i get my car to work I might not even post here anymore. So it doesnt really matter if it's my first post. Me going 350mph doesnt affect anyone here..

It's more about the challenge. If we gave people the best settings to start with, then wheres the challenge or competition?

If you look less than a page back I give a brief overview of my general approach to high speeds. It's by no means exhaustive, but will at least give you a few pointers to increase your speed. My approach is definitely good for 350mph (354.75mph on the leaderboard in the Toyota 88C-V, with 359+ runs since). More than that though, and you should try to discover it yourself. :)

Actually, there is a rule that all speeds must be done in Top Speed Test, and try drafting in that :p

I don't remember this being a 'competition' (thanks Opendriver for beating me to that reply). :sly:

Anyway, nice speeds Deathwish. I still can't see that Mazda screenshot, but MasterStorm PM'd me a mirror of the file (Thanks for that!), so I can add the speed.

Leaderboard will be updated soon :)

Whilst not a competition as such, we do have situations such as myself, viperpilot and De@tthwi§ho0 all going for the RX-8 LM record. Surely you would agree that theres some competitive elements here? :)

No problem. 👍

I have a higher no nos speed record, but im not going to say how fast it is because I want to keep toronado at bay...

I just got my online setup all ready for GT4 online:D
But ive only been able to play the only online game I own, the first NFS:U. Not a lot of people on sometimes but still kinda fun...

All in the name of good fun :p but there may be elements of 'friendly competition' going on there, yeah :)

*looks at Deathwish's Post #3365*
Oh no... You're joking... I can't see the Mercedes photo either... :grumpy: :irked:

Opendriver
Thank you :p

If I knew where my setup was going wrong, I might be able to challenge in the No-NOS runnings. As it stand I don't think I even hit 300mph. :'(

Im sorry to hear that...What car are you using?
I refer back to my previous post asking if there was an alternative approach to car setup. Some cars my approach works very well, others, including the GT-One, it doesn't.

It's odd really, because my old R8 on 351mph setup pulled a 302mph run without NOS - all I did was avoid R1, and that's it. In fifth gear, if I recall correctly. Now I'm starting to wonder how it'd go if I decided to actually set it up for non-nitrous attempts!

I'm not worried. If it get's too bad, I could always switch to the New TS020 instead of the second hand-Mary.
@ Masterstorm: Good luck. I'm looking forward to another 2D war. Those are the best....Curse Ozmac and his lack of showing up!

Well I'm just thinking that with the 'wheelie but not really' approach, a lot of the cars lose too much traction/speed when it bounces. But until I find the alternative approach, there not much info I can give on the matter. :)

I've got a 308.58mph setup at the moment, which is below my best (308.72)... however the BHP on my 2D is down a few due to mileage. I should get another one! :)

Tapping the D-pad 20+times a turn is not the most efective way to "gain speed"
My "no-nitrous" run was done using the D-pad. Remember, the d-pad is analog as well, and if you find a good spot where it works itself through the turns you can lock your fingers at that spot. Can't do that with the sticks.
Leonidae
BTW, DE.. have you tried adapting 300mph GT-R settings into the GT-R concept racecar yet? I have an itch that it might work.
I've already tried that. It won't work. The tranny in the Skyline is crap for high speeds (oddly enough).
Masterstorm
My instincts about the FTO SuperTourer '97 proved right, I now have a new car record for it with 301.63mph.
I hate the FTO LM. It drives exactly like the 3000GT minus about 200 BHP, plus 30 NOS. It annoys me.
Masterstorm
Using less gears makes a car easier to tune as you have less gear interaction to worry about. You can then use the settings from you last gear or two, and shift them down into the higher gear spaces. (ie: copy your 3rd/4th gear to 5th/6th, and adjust the rest as necessary).
In theory. My Pesky '03 got 330.xx with 3 gears. Attempting to base 4th gear off of 3rd was a failure however, and it went far faster with all 6 gears (it is one of the few cars that I still use custom-tuned individual gear ratios for. The others are the Esprit, TS020 and McLaren F1 GTR.
Masterstorm
One thing I've noticed though, is that this works very badly on the GT-One (I cant make even 340mph this way). Just wonder if there's an alternative approach?
You don't know the half of it. The TS020 tries to wheelie with full front downforce as well at speeds over 365. And there is another way, and it applies specifically to the TS020. :sly:

sorry to go off topic
but i cant find the post reporting the highest top speed so far
What the record as of now?
and was it done with the GT-1?

EDIT: nevermind
i found the letter board with the currect records.

Can't you see my Merc DE?.. *scratches head* Maybe it's because I edited them a little in PS so you could actually see the speed.. Cause my camera is crappy quality and my Tv is too,, Oh well,, no worries I'll have another go with the merc later on the day,, and try to break my speed, ,I'll post another pic then:0 Sorry DE, ,for inconvience..

* Altough it's weird cause I can see the pics *

BTW : Thanks to Masterstorm for sending that mirror thingy to DE:)

I feel stupid. Extremely stupid. After all that time I spent on it trying to get it to 300mph (2 weeks to be exact) three people just come along and beat me! :nervous: :scared: :ouch:  :indiff: :grumpy: :guilty: :dunce: those all express my feelings.

I probably need a new one. Perhaps it lost some power....
