Good, because I have more Lotus Esprits than I know what to do with. I can't be bothered to worry about the Chappy right now, because I know all I need to do for that is choose a better running line. After a full year of fiddling with the top speed settings, I am quite sure that where they are right now is as good as they can possibly be (maybe some tranny adjustments at most.). I just need to learn how to drive.
Edit: I wonder if I use my dual shock if the car will go faster.

yes.. i could make better, i'd like to be in the top teen
of the leaderboard, but i have only one problem...
to make the video :guilty: ...

now i'm "working" on other cars ...
(i've found on web...about a S7 @ 302 :nervous: ..)

*is shocked* Ahem, no, it isn't, in fact it isn't even close! To be honest, I don't think the R8 is capable of that.

Anyway, congratulations on your improvement, FormulaGT! Is there any more to pull out of that, maybe even enough to take back second place? Downloading video...

EDIT after watching FormulaGT's video... I can't really see enough to be absolutely certain about that one... Could you please take some PhotoMode shots of the wheels as you hit top speed, just to make certain? Thanks, and sorry about the inconvenience.

I'm a little busy at the moment, but they'll arrive soon enough.

@MasterStorm: I can assure there is no lift. One thing I do before posting a speed with a car is get it to wheelie first, so it is easy to recognise. In terms of my gearing, it is VERY wide. Derived from my previous setup, where I was hitting 365 7500 revs into 5th. One problem is that I get the fastest runs in the middle of the track (near yellow line), making visibility more difficult.

Sorry, I thought my post may have come across a bit aggressively when I posted it, not intended. I wasn't trying to discredit you! 👍

Your right about the center of the track being faster, this is because the walls effectively give an aerodynamic dragging effect. In my recent record breaking Chaparral 2D setup, I hit the rev limitier at around 307.90mph when running close to the wall. :nervous:
 
No problem MasterStorm, sometimes I take things a little too seriously (got 'involved' :rolleyes: with Famine recently...). But yes, I find the centre of the track a lot faster!

Anyway here are the pics:

>Super close-up of left wheel (~366.79) - Basically a wheel shot, bright as possible to distinguish the wheel

The only way not to get owned by Famine is not to argue with Famine!

Downloading your pictures, Formula... The quality's not too bad for a digicam :)
Just a quick pointer, if you are going to use a digicam to take the photos, actually take the PhotoMode photo and use the full-screen version rather than the preview - with the maximum 1/4000" shutter speed the quality will be better after the photo is taken.
And that, thank you for the quick response, is a legitmate run! 👍

Agreed. I tried last night and could only get 294mph, but at that point the acceleration becomes so slow. Maybe if the back straight on the test track was 3 times longer! :D

Anyway... another new record for me! :dunce:

Im just curious, is anyone still trying to beat Rac3rX's overall speed record? Or has been labled untouchable?...And does he post in this thread? I used to visit his 'TuneShop' over at another GT site, but that has shut down now :(

I've done it a couple times, but I've never been able to get a video of it up (until now...). He doesn't post here anymore because he was banned.

the same for me this speed with S7 is very weird....
i've found this "info" ...in Playstation.com board ..

My best with Saleen is at the moment +/-293mph :sick:
