That damn thing was a chore to even get to 275 when I tried 300 with it long ago. It seems like a sure bet: 700-800HP 16-cylinder engine, MR, no huge wing, and nitrous oxide compatable. But no, its has to go suck at yet another thing. It's the gearbox that kills it, and even a racing transmission doesn't help much. The Cizeta really has no redeeming qualities at all. Hell, it only looks good in black, and that's because it obscures most of the car's features (actually, red isn't too bad, either). I've won it twice. In white. :yuck:

As I said before, the car has trouble even reaching 275mph, and that's using the last of a bottle of NOx.
 
As a matter of interest, has anyone had a shot at a Mazda RX-7?
I tried it, breifly, last night and despite 100-shot nitrous, it seems to be a very odd case. I couldn't get much over 282mph, it responds very oddly to downforce settings. Anyone else?

Well, I was running out of ideas there. With some gearing tweaks, 285, some more suspension changes it might just reach 290 but I can't see it going further.

I'm going down to Essex today, and I'll be back Monday evening or Tuesday afternoon, not sure yet. Either way, just keep going as usual :)

LOL, I got 313.1 mph (503.7 km/h) with that Toyota Minolta 88C-V Race Car, simply because I lowered my downforce, and lowered the final and 6th Gear Ratio to Final 3.200 and 6th 0.720

The wall stopped for me at 286. It has enough nitrous, but it needs 50-100 more BHP (630 is not enough) and the suspension settings seem to be screwy as well due in part to the car having different ride hieghts F/R.

i didn't say it was offical!

i just said i done the true land speed record

by breaking out you have a more realistic speed test

when ppl try to get a new speed record they don't do it on a track they do it on a salt lake that is flat for 20 Miles or so
 
but you have no salt-lake or something similar in GT4, so why do you post it, if it's not legal for our club?

Good Morning 300MPH'ers,

First of all, this is my first time posting to a message board so I am not entirely sure what this will look like but hopefully it will be OK (In particular, I do not see how one includes/excludes quotes from other posts).

In any case, I stumbled upon this thread about 2 weeks ago after reaching 100% in GT4 and wondering what to do next. DE, thanks for thinking this up so I can once again obsess over this game.

I have two questions to which I have been unable to find answers, so if anyone could either answer or point me in the right direction I would be grateful as I have set a new record (for a particular make - not overall LSR) and will need to prove it.

1) The replays that I see posted all include the HUD on the screen as well as the speed display at the run. My replays do not show any of this - what do I need to do to show this info?

2) I have a digital Mini DV video camera that I could use to record the TV screen and then upload to my PC (I'm trying to find the manual and cables but I'm pretty sure I can do this). Will this be of sufficient quality for DE to determine it was a no wheelie run? Otherwise, I see that there are youTube videos that appear to be directly from the game - is it possible to save a replay and then just plug the PS2 memory card into my PC?. And for that matter, why is youTube needed at all - can't I just attach the replay file to my post?
