By the way, has anyone tried the 2J? I'm sure its a brick and not sure if nitrous is available.
Yes, it's a brick as far as top speed tuning is concerned, and no it can't take nitrous. Neither can the 2D.

P.S. Chapparal is 2 "p's" and 1 "r". Sorry to picky, but people misspell it all the time.
Indeed :)

You know, guys, you really shouldn't correct the spelling of someone who has been a Chaparral fan since age 9 (that's 1964 for those of you keeping score at home) :)

As I check the lithograph on my wall of a cutaway of the 2E and the logo on my Chaparral t-shirt, both bought from here: http://www.petroleummuseum.org/Chaparral/Chaparralhome.html I find that, yup, I did spell it right
;)

I had thought it was 'Chaparral' also, and looking for the related Wikipedia article, and the company logo on Google confirmed this. It's not worth quibbling over though.

The Chaparral 2J can't make 300mph in my opinion, and the 2D record has quite some history. I've been looking at a few things recently and I have a feeling the 2D can actually go quite a bit faster than we currently think.

I guess the 2D would be a good test target for a new theory I have.

I don't know which ones which, but the fridge handels like a tank on ice:yuck:

Sorry. I was quite tired yesterday, so I must have made a bit of a big mistake. All my fault.

The 2J is the one with the downforce fans on the back. They only work best on flat surfaces though. 240mp/h down the Mulsanne in a 2J is a very dodgy thing to be doing, in my opinion.

Also, even though some people don't like to give away secrets, has anyone got a good setup for the xjr-9? I'm finding it quite hard. If you don't want to, then fair enough. I'm sure this is some kind of cult though.

I wasn't ;) my comment was aimed at xjr-9, who said that 'people misspell it all the time'. I agreed with that part of his statement

How did I know you were going to say something like that? :sly: 👍

so we'll see an new speed/record from MStorm in the next time?? *gg*

the 2J can't do 300mph, that's for sure, because i tried it myself!

I just beat an existing record by 0.01mph without meaning to (I thought it was a non-300mph car actually), but I dont have access to my capture card until tommorow, so I will need to make a better run then. Off to beat a few more records now...

I see some people have been busy whilst I was gone. If I can pull myself from Vice City I'll get around to bumping up the TS020.

I now beat the record I mentioned above by .50mph or so consistently and I've also just taken another record by just under 3mph, but again, no current access to my capture card.

I'll be remaking these runs (for recording) when I get a chance, and maybe a few more by then. :)

I care about 3 cars in this club exclusively.
  1. Lotus Esprit Sport 350
  2. Pescarolo-Peugoet C60 '03
  3. Toyota TS020 GT-One
It's nice if I'm fast in the other ones, but right now I simply don't care whether I am the fastest with anything else.

if only i could get a photo of my gt-one at 347mph:indiff:

as soon as i get a digital camera no gt4:banghead:

always the way if it's not one thing it's another

Leo
indeed.. well, she's close to.. oh, right, minors on the board. *shuts his mouth*
You know you don't have to be careful on my behalf :sly:
Don't make it sound like your R32 is 'fresh' :p

One of the greatest games ever, superceded by an even better one... Or not, in your opinion?

Mmm, I know, I once tried the 2003 Pescarolo to my cost... I remember when you focused exclusively on the Lotus, and the TSO20 is a relatively new addition to that list! :)

maybe i should try the pesky in the meantime while i'm waiting for my 6.2mile-car for new speeds/records!!
is it one of my records MStorm??

None of the records are yours. 👍

The Pescarolo '04 took me a lot of effort to beat, and the '03 is much more difficult. :nervous:

I will have access to my capture card later today! :)

Bloody good effort MasterStorm!👍 Nice to see someones keeping DE's work rate up:scared:. Unless I'm gravely mistaken, is that not the first time the R92CP has broken 350?

*pfff, you work-aholic!*:)

Not. An amazing technical achievement, yes. Better game? No. And LCS sucks.
I find SA better than VC in part because of the improved (vastly improved) handling engine's realism, partly because of the larger game world and partly because of the huge increase in aircraft use. Although, for such an undoubtable achievement, it does leave some questions - why, for example, did Vice City manage to have automated airliners taking off and landing (admittedly they weren't solid, but they were still visible) but San Andreas doesn't? Why were there undercover FBI agents at 3 Stars in Vice City, but no longer in San Andreas? Why did the coaches in Vice City stop to let passengers on or off, but the San Andreas ones do not? Why is it impossible to get out of a crippled helicopter? (I know why attempting this causes explosion, but why it wasn't fixed is the question). The list goes on.

Anyway, nice work MStorm! Four in a row ;)
