Alsace race 1 in our series.

I've shared the replay if you forgot to save it.

First I would like to thank Larry for hosting a great night very professional job 👍

Watching the replay Wookie & GeeTeye I thought they were joined at the hip at one point for 10 laps, fantastic watch
Argon, after the normal slow start from the TT off the line, soon started to make his way through the pack.

Middle of the pack saw lots of action with places changing on every lap BassAddict, Jamie, Pigpin, Oldguy
Michael. RenRag with so little seat time did a sterling job of holding it together with a few off's.

Cobani using the controller here :scared: has to be a master, I think this track has to be one of the hardest we have for racing with a DS4

And Rob1n good try, you were in the company of some very fast racers that make very little mistakes once they settle down to it. Shame you got disconnected from the server, I hope you come and join us again, it's a very quick way to learn and improve. Just hang onto someone's bumper for as long as you can.

I only saw two little taps the hole race, both time they eased off and made sure the racing could continue, just how it should be. 👍
The result at the end was just how it should have been from watching the replay.

Congrats on the podiums Chris, Antony and Mike.

I'll sort some pictures.

Yeah the race was awesome! Cheers to Anthony and Mike, If the races would have lastet one more lap Mike would have overtaken us. MAD speed with that TT.
Also shoutout to Michael for REALLY upsetting me on every corner exit during the warmups, you are fast mate.

On a sidenote, there was a point in the race (after the restart, caused by Renrag39 :-P ) where i was unsure about "am i allowed to overtake now?" and i think i wasn't the only one with this in mind. i think i have to read into that again...

I'll answer that for you Chris, you can overtake anywhere any time as long as it's safe to do so. Great racing last night. 👍👍

A prime example is watch the start, I could have gone for the inside off the line and pushed Michael wide into turn one to grab the apex. But instead I went for the outside being the safer, tried to grow a pair and hang on round the outside.

Michael knew I was there and gave me lots of room to try and pull this off.

That's it, in a nutshell, Chris, it does make it respectful, noticed the one little tap between you two, Antony eased off straight away seen you were well in control and off you went again.

Also you'll see at turn 3 , I knew you were there , so I didn't chop your nose off but gave you room, cars width

Thanks for the close, clean racing Chris and yes, i did notice you were a little hesitant at the beginning. The better driver won in the end and like you rightfully said, Mike would have in all likelyhood passed me on the next lap.

I thoroughly enjoyed last night's event. Thanks for hosting Larry!

Catching you and Chris is one thing getting passed you is another thing all together. I doubt I'd have done much more than keep you two honest for another lap or two but it was great fun trying to catch you two.

So that you know who is your teammate in the series here is a list.

Michael --- + -- Oldguy
Wookie --- + -- Mickeylcr
Dranddad- + -- Jamie
Argon -----+ -- Pigpin
Cobani ----+ -- BassAddict
GeeTeye -- + -- Renrag

If anyone gets 5 minutes in your busy lives to take a look at upcoming races in this series, take a look at some of the Gr3 combos. I think the Maggorie East II is real hard, or is it I'm just getting older.

Was a great turn out for Alsace Mickey was missed on the night when life lets him, It will be good to see Mike back on track again. 👍

>>>>This round has been moved back to later date. <<<<
Next round in the Series, Brands Hatch.

Set for the 16th or the 23rd Jan depending on grid, with the 30th Jan ear-marked for the first Endurance at Goodwood.

Brands Hatch event. 15 laps this week with tyre and fuel depletion

Same Gr 4 car as Alsace, Default settings power/weight settings 100/100

Room set with BoP and tuning prohibited.

Due to time zones different race start time is 20:00 GMT.

Race testing notes.

As tyre and fuel usage is all part of racing, this tract being much easier than Alsace, having only one hair-pin, no chicanes and other fuel drinking places, this race you will need to manage these. in testing I used fuel-map 1 for 15 laps, tyre wear was minimal and I did the 15 laps in 25:00.XXX with a pit stop, crossed the line with 1 lap of fuel left in the tank.

Watch your cold tyres for a lap after pitting.

As all the cars use these at different rates plus different driving styles, you'll need to keep a close eye on your tyre/fuel, as you can see from testing there is room for movement.

Testing at Brands.

Yes the west looks a safer bet for these more powerful cars, spa and fuji are OK but done to death, same with the full Maggiore, West II should be a different challenge.

Looks like it was good fun guys, sorry I've been awol, combination of holidays in London right through into the new year and getting Days Gone as a Christmas present

I'll get on the case and set a time at Brands 👍

First Happy and prosperous new year Mike. 👍👍

So glad you've not left us, missed you these past few weeks. I've updated the OP for this next event in the series here

Which week this goes ahead, is on how full the grid is, I know not everyone can make each week due to life, could be this week could be the 23rd.
I would suggest all read the race notes, as this track is free-flowing compared to Alsace it's easier to manage tyre/fuel.

Also thinking of introducing slipstream weak as another way of managing fuel, as we're all professionals at this :sly: draft someone for a few laps, use theirs save yours.

Wow, look how close Mike and Larry are, .009 Someone has to put in a time so they get paired for a head to head race, would be an epic battle.

Thanks for using the Community to post your lap times picture, hope you found it easier, click/click done.

Community Gtfn. Thursday fun night
