Tim Trial No. 15 - What car are you using?

I'm trying to beat the Nurburgring track on time trial No. 15 but the closest I can get is about 10:30 minutes, which doesn't even get me a bronze. I even spent about 100K buying and tweaking a car just for that race. :/

What are you guys using?

I was using a Mine's Lan Evo and was about 2 minutes off the pace, but then noticed the regulations would let me free up 200 kg. I'm such a tard. Trying with a TVR Tamora and will keep you posted.
 
I'm using a Ferrari F430 Scuderia down tuned to 394hp, closest i got is 9:00:914.

Update: Completed at 8:54:XXX using a NSX-R (Non-LM) with everything off with DS3.

I used what the higher placed guys used at the time. A de-tuned Peugeot 908.
 
11 minutes? Have you used a "tuned" Fiat 500? :lol:

Get a detuned race car (take a look at the leaderboard for good ones) and you should win it easily.

If not, then i suggest doing the AMG challenges on the Ring first. Practice. 👍
 
I'm not proud of it but I used a downtuned Peugeot 908. Simply because everyone else used LMPs. I managed to reach position 15 on the first day but in the meantime I have been pushed back to 290 or something. I cannot find the motivation to improve my time under these circumstances. PD should give us more restrictions than just BHP and weight.
 
The top few people on this time trial have used the breakout cheat and are logging times 30- 40 seconds better than honest racers. Use the car, get your gold and take the money but then walk away because this event has been polluted by cheaters. Patch the glitch

I'm using the 908 LMP1 car and I'm loving it. I'm glad it's given me a reason to buy and use one. Granted the power isn't there but it's a proper good car.

I used my tuned Evora and my DS3. It was close but I beat it. Using overly powered cars doesn't appeal to me. That's why I used a "real" car.
 
For Nurburgring, I used a Honda NSX Prototype LM Race Car. Got gold on my first try.
 
I beat it in a RX7 Spirit type R I think its called, got 8:58
 
@Sampson: Read the whole thread first => you probably read which Car everybody is using.
What Cars have you tried ?? would be interesting to know.

I suggest you to use a GT300 Car (I did it in a Cusco Impreza from the NCD) or a detuned LMP Car (Peugeot 908 FAP or so).
My suggestions:
Falken GTR
C-West Razö Silvia
Cusco Impreza (Premium or Standard one)
Apex MRS
Mazda 6/Atenza Touring Car
FTO Super Touring Car
RX7 LM
Honda NSX LM Road Car
Nissan R390 Road Car

Some you have to detune a bit (use power limiter and add Ballast weight).
Peace of cake in those Cars me think.
 
First used the Clio sport V6 '00 and was about 20 seconds off gold. I then bought the Nissan GT-R and ran a 8.51,XXX with a big spin out at the last chicane.
 
I tried my trusted BMW M3 CSL, fully tuned and set up perfectly to my liking (I think I've annoyed quite a few people with this thing online, love it). Best I could get was a 9:10, that was my limit. Then almost beat it in the M3 GTR Race Car. Then got bored since I saw the glitch, took out the 908, drove a clean, relaxed, easy 8:XX, walked away.

But I've got to say, using a touring car is much more fun than some tamed LMP-monster.

I like a challenge so I chose not to go for the obvious LMPs and such.
I started with a TVR V8S, used one in the British Lightweights, but only managed 9:03.xxx.
Then I got 8:46.xxx in my Silvia S15 RM. Great car for fun on the ring.
 
I used the premium RE Amemiya RX-7 GT300 Race Car, upped to 394 hp with high rpm turbo+power limiter. It's 100 kg over the weight limit but it handles like a dream on Hard race tyres. On my first clean lap I did 8.58 or something, and it was not a fast lap. I certainly recommend using this car. Very fun to drive and not that much overpowered.

I just found this beauty in the UCD and bought it! :D Any setup tips?
 
I tried a few different cars and while my best time (only an 8'37.xxx) was with a detuned McLaren F1 GTR Race Car it felt like a real struggle because I'm just not that good with that and more powerful race cars even with the limited HP.

I felt most comfortable in an only slightly detuned Vauxhall Astra Super Touring car, first and only lap I did in that car was an 8'48.xxx I think but with room for improvement. If you don't car for LeMans type cars I'd recommend either a GT300 or a DTM level car.
 
I just grabbed my tuned R33 detued it to 394 (removed parts mostly, rather than power limiter) tried it with sport softs and failed by 11 seconds (9'11.xxx).
I then bought and fitted Racing Hards, went out and got 8'59.9xx on my first try.... Thats good enough for me, just in it for the cash and driving gear.

Before anyone blasts me about the colour I change it everytime I use it in a time trial :p
 
I used the Nomad Diablo(for Nurburgring) and just reduced it's Horsepower until i was in the right limit.

For the Indy race i used the TVR Cerbera Speed 12.

I got gold first try. 👍
 
Nailed it in a Cusco Dunlop Impreza with a High RPM Turbo, did an 8:49.xxx

Using the 908 Hdi Fap, I got an 8:06 im currently 311th, but will be looking to take more time off, i was pretty pissed when i saw cheaters today, its pretty ****** on the guy who is legit first place (Prox-i)
 
Used the Silvia RM for the Ring, nice dive but not especially fast for an 8:56

Went with the crowd at Indy and used the R390 but didn't go to town on the tune. Job done

Not sure what to tell you about tuning it. All I did was lower its horsepower.
 
I used an Acura NSX RM, that car was real fun. I'll have to use it more often in the future. The way I see it the LM Prototypes don't belong on the Nürburgring.

I think you need a completely stock 0 mile one (no oil change & no engine modifications). :sly:

With a used one you can't fit the regulars.
