At firts I used a Spoon CRZ (one of my favourite cars) and i got bronze trophy.
I enjoyed a lot but is a slow car for this time trial...

Then I tryed a Tommy Kaira ZZII with the allowed specs and made 9,04.XXX.
I got impatient and used the 908 HDI...got gold but it was so boring and I felt like "cheating".

Then I took the Tommy Kaira again and made some changes in the LSD and supension (too hard for the ring) and I got the gold trophy doing 8:59.413.
It was very fun and exciting, and i'm proud of getting gold with a street car.
I think i can do a better time with some practice...

Did it in the detuned Team Peugout, had a massive crash and spin out in the last third but still cleared with ten seconds. I found it fun as I have had little to no experience on the 24 hour circuit. Had a similar crash on my previous lap but got invalidated by it.

Managed a 9:21 in a couple laps with my stock (but well tuned) Mazda 6 Touring Car with only 320 hp. I think if i had worked at it harder I could have gotten into the low teens with it. Then I broke out my Audi R8 4.2 "Nurburgring Car" (one of a couple road cars I use online to race on the ring a lot, and is tuned for the ring), turned down the HP a bit and managed an 8:58 in about 5 or 6 laps. Anyone using an overpowered car to kill this event is missing out on a lot of fun, as it was great hitting 9:00:860 then 9:00:290, etc till I finally broke 9 min.

I used the Audi R8 LMS Race Car (Team PlayStation) '09. Tuned the power down, I got a time of 8 Mins 10 seconds & crashed twice! (didn't get a penaulty though?) :)

i used Cusco impreza 2008

I've tried everything it seems. The best I've done is bronze, and that was with the Wedssport Celica '03. I just won the Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car '89, so I'm going to see how we that does after being detuned. :/

I'm with Cano in the RM 69 Camaro. After several attempts, still haven't posted a clean time :dunce:, but did a 9:3x with a big off and being too cautious in a couple sections where I had previously bounced off the kerb into the barrier.

Definately do-able: I've blagged someones setup from the tuning thread to try (can't remember who right now), as I've had the suspension too firm.

9:15 - yup, poor time, but in stock M3 GTR road car with race hards. I think I can go under 9:10 but it doesn't matter, as driving it at ring is pure pleasure.

8:07:505 on my first go in a detuned Audi R8 race car (Playstation sponsored wee jobbie). Didn't realise how easy it would be and wish I'd picked a slower car now

I used an Acura NSX RM, that car was real fun. I'll have to use it more often in the future. The way I see it the LM Prototypes don't belong on the Nürburgring.

I feel like an idiot for not using one of my NSX RM's. Another great option might be the TVR Speed 6 RM (with some added weight)

I used a Toyota SuperAutobacs MR-S (GT300) with a turbo added. Got gold, around 8'53, driving 'safe'. I tried a 908 afterwards and had no patience to learn to control it. Then I went with the BMW McLaren F1 and got around 8'21, diving carefully again.

I would suggest this race was set up (1000kg, race tires) with race cars in mind (GT300, Touring, RM).

Non RM TVR tuscan did a 8:42 with DFP on the second attempt. Once I realised I could use racing hard. Got Bronze on sports hard

Okay stupid question here.
In the Indianapolis time trial, I see most people are using either the:
R390 GT1 Road Car '98
or the
NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car

1. Where can I get either of these cars? I can't find them anywhere (dealership, online dealership, used car dealership).
2. What other cars can cut it for this race? All my cars seem too slow. Most I can do is only bronze.

9:02 with the Miura. Have to run more laps to better that.

Managed to capture the lap.

My best time was 8:48 with the Jaguar XJ13.

8:57 with the Acura NSX 91 RM.

I grabbed my NSX LM road on race hards. Made sure it was within restrictions and raced it as is. Easily golded. Very good car in its stock form for this race. I'd recommend it.

I tried it in the Mines Evo first. Had an off and ended up with a 9:42. I was pushing it quite hard but despite the spin I knew I couldn't gold it in that. I switched to the Opel Astra Touring Car next. The very first lap I set a 9:02 and I wasn't pushing too hard so I stepped it up a little and got the gold with a time of 8:57. I probably could have gone faster but with such a long course I always find myself being cautious during time trials since one simple mistake can cause you to get an invalid lap.

Did it with the Arta Garayia. It's a fun car. Did a 9.12.xxx with some mistakes, think you can get it under 9 minutes.

Mitsubishi fto concept lm or whatever its called lol. Easy did it

Managed to capture the lap.

Interior view rocks, every car should have it, makes a nice lap you did. 👍

Did this time trial disappear after the latest update?

Was wondering the same thing, just checked and all that's left is the Indy speedway time trial. Wish I had logged on before it disappeared...

WTF?! Time trial No. 15 is still there but the 'ring track is gone. I just spent 700K on a car to do this!! :grumpy:

Because some kids used a glitch and set ridiculous times, the event has been pulled-of.
It was mentioned in the news section (probably still is, after you click on it) top right of the starting screen of GT5.
Sad but true.
Greetings stano666.
ps cheer up we got 2 new events since. :sly:

Shame really! I smashed it with the Toyota Race Car and the Peogeot! still struggling to find a car that can do the indy time trial though. Preferably one that doesnt hammer me into the wall.

I used a 458 Italia and DS3 but can only get silver with 55.8 lap

I wish they had just reset the scores or something. :/

I did it with the Maclaren F1. Took me a little while to get it because of how bad the car slides, but you get used to it and finally get it. Took me about 20 minutes of doing laps.

Time Trial / Drift Trial No. 15 are both now closed.

Something new should be around the corner, and maybe some other things. :)

I used a reasonably standard 350Z NISMO Z-tune (I think it is called).

Was running about 120kgs too heavy. Got silver with 6 seconds off gold first go, and gold with 3 seconds to spare on the 2nd. :)
