11 minutes? Have you used a "tuned" Fiat 500?

Get a detuned race car (take a look at the leaderboard for good ones) and you should win it easily.

I tried a new Fairlady Z (Z34) '08. Up'ed the HP as much as possible and lowered the weight. Still didn't stand a chance.

Honestly, I never even thought about down tuning a car. The 908 that several people have mentioned is 4 million dollars new and I don't have anywhere near the money needed to buy something like that. I do have a couple of race cars tho' and I'm going to look at down tuning one of those. That certainly seems to be the option of choice for most of those that have replied. I'll report back with results.

I borrowed the NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car from someone on my list and was able to win gold with a time of 8:55:xxx. Very fun car to drive.

I tryed a detuned zondaR and got a decent time but with a good tune it will get a better time on nurburgring

8:32.402 in 908 HDi FAP -Team Oreca Matmut '10 after failing in my 394HP Subaru sti

Sorry for being a Noob, but how do you "detune" cars?

Do you put all the "standard" parts and that's it? How can you lower the Peugeot 908 to just under or at 394 HP?

Isn't that car around 900HP? I still don't have it, i'm just assuming right now :p

Am i missing something?

A new 908 has 800 bhp.
If you run this car long enough (around 5000 miles) your power gets lower then 780 bhp.
At this point you can powerlimit it down to 394 bhp.
You need to add weight too , to meet the weight restrictions.

Oh, ok.

Thanks.

I will be trying with the 1969 Camaro RM. Last night, in a horrendous drive (I don't know the Nurburgring at all, and that 24 hour section is ARGHHH) I managed a 9:4x with completely wrong gearing (didn't remember it had a close ratio setup, my top speed was like 180kmph) so I'm sure it's doable, and it'll force me to know the track to it's last bit.

The top few people on this time trial have used the breakout cheat and are logging times 30- 40 seconds better than honest racers. Use the car, get your gold and take the money but then walk away because this event has been polluted by cheaters. Patch the glitch
PD.

To be honest they all have, not just this one, I mean play the game how you want, but you can't just "de-tune" a Pug 908 by 300 or more horsepower in real life(or any car for that matter) If you can get gold using a car permitted for this event, without any de-tuning, then congrats and thanks for actually playing the game right, I'll just shut my mouth about de-tuned LMP cars..

De-tuned a Zonda LM will do.

No need any tuning. You can win in 8.45min or lesser easily.

I used my S2000 lm race car (that i did the 4hr endurance in), standard power around 380bhp and weight 1050kg.. first lap i did a 9:01.6xx after i tried to take a wrong turn on the gp part of the track.. lol then i did a 8:56.xxx
did it on my ds3, couldn't use the dfgt! didn't want to wake the mrs up!lol

I used the Lancer Evo IX RM... time was something between 8.30 and 8.40 :)

I chose to take this TT a little more seriously so I took my Wedsport GT300 out first. With just some turbos added to get to the 393 Hp I manage to nab the gold on my 3rd lap with a 8:59.1.

Then for fun a took a GT-R Vspec out with all weight upgrades and downtuned to 393 Hp and ran a 8:55 on my 3rd lap.

Those two cars we're a blast to drive on this track. That is what these should be about. Taking a car close the restrictions and man-handling it around the track. Pure driving bliss with my Fanatec wheel!

Used a R8 FSI Quattro '09...........

Sliding all the way, to reach a 53.9xx.

I used a 2010 Camaro SS RM. It seemed to be a good choice with the racing hard restrictions without going overboard, It was good for a 8'38. I didn't want to go all out in a "ruined" LMP car.

I used what the higher placed guys used at the time. A de-tuned Peugeot 908.
I read somewhere you have to run it in before it'll detune to 394bhp.

I used the Silvia RM after a few false starts, as mine already had exactly 394 bhp. Was a little over the weight but it didn't seem to matter. Handled very nicely for a "getting the job done" time of 8:55

Took the RM Corvette '09 and managed a 8:55 first try..

I used a GT500 GTR. Easy and fun.

I use the Toyota FT-86 G Sports Concept '10, 393hp, didn't change weight(1000kg), on first try got silver.

I laid down a pitiful 8'58'xxx with a McLaren F1 because I couldn't keep the thing from trying to go off the track onto the grass. It was an AWFUL run for me and I know I could do better, so I've taken to using cars of mine I know I'm better with and beefing them up to try and better my time. No matter what happens I keep finding some way to mess up the lap time, though it's a sure thing for me to almost always wipe out on the last few corners going up into that turn to go onto the GP area of the track.

I got an 8:40.xx first lap with a Speed 8 but it was too easy. I did it again with the Arta Garaya(?) a GT300 car and got a 9:07.xx but it was a load of toss and needs tweaking. I tried in a souped-up Elise but its too twitchy:dunce: I'll try in my RM version tomorrow for a real challenge. I also managed a silver medal lap time first lap in the Merc AMG SL.

Its no fun doing it in a prototype car half the buzz of the 'Ring is being on the limit of control :crazy: he he.

The Daytona time trial is another matter you use non race car race cars lol.

How many laps to you need to count as your lap time? I use speed 8, my first lap was 8:52, but for some reason it did not count as my record???

The only time your lap won't count is if it is invalid. If you hit walls, cut corners, etc. the timer will turn red indicating that that lap no longer counts.

Thanks MuoNiuLa, it makes sense now...

It took a few laps, but I got gold on nurnburgring with the Impreza Super Touring car. I used a Dual Shock 3, with abs off, and brakes at 4/4. Also did chassis rigidity improvement.

Now onto Indianapolis...

I got gold on Indianapolis with the NSX prototype LM ROAD CAR with a Stage 3 engine and high rpm turbo. I used a dual shock 3 with abs off and brakes at 2/2.

Before I was using Viper, got silver, and then got gold on Indy using McLaren F1 with aero upgrade, add blast and tune to 690hp on the first lap! Yeah!!!

Hi,

I done a 7:57.500 in the Bentley Speed 8 = Ranking 123

I think your gonna need a high downforce car if you want to do well at this time trial

Any race car with lower weight so you can add ballast and preferably a diesel as the will have more torque per bhp than a petrol.

Good Luck
