Come on lad, I mean 'better than sex' is just a turn of phrase. You drive much better afterwards!

Lmao you are a legend mate love it :-) think I will pay her to go out with her mates so I can do the TT then I will get the happy drunk wife when she gets in lol

Would be great to meet up, but I'm off to Geneva that weekend - then on to Argentiere, snowborading with a friend who lives over there :D

Well some other time then ;).
I bettered my time a fraction down to 1'19.444 -thanks. A question for you: If I stay in the TT (I'm on lap 19 now) then my pp will increase as I drive the car in right? Will this enable me to run at a higher pp than I'm allowed?

Yes, just unfortunate circumstance... I'm home most weekends!

Car's don't gain PPT's in the on-line TT's 👍

And you don't really need more ppts with this one... would just make it harder to drive I reckon

McL, you need to get another TV installed in the bedroom. Soapies, series & the odd glass of wine (or 2) have an amazing effect on GT5-itis in wives. Hell, mine even acts guilty when she sneaks off to watch a couple of episodes of Fringe, Sons of Anarchy or some such. I just make sure I top the vino up from time to time. ;)

What you might call a 'working compromise'...

Sounds pretty much like our house... I got Sky Multiroom and a flatscreen for the bedroom... she can go watch whatever she wants whenever she wants now.

Not that I'm at home that much!

@XDesperado67 and @Stotty I see what you mean. The cream always rises. For newbies like me any modification to a stock car is a tune. But I'm starting to understand the basic modifications that must be made. Hopefully soon tuning will become second nature. BTW Stotty's tune got me down to 1:19.991. Finally broke the 1:20 barrier. Thanks again Stotty.

say any tips on tuning my corvette zr1 (co6) '09 and get gold on the race track is much appreciated.

Thanks to Stotty's tune I just did a 21.784 first sector and continued onto a 1:17.399 (currently 16th Place), I messed up the middle sector a bit and braked way too early for the last corner so still room for improvement :) I can't thank you enough for the great tune Stotty, it is making the car really enjoyable to drive as well as fast

That's really impressive BK. I'm currently over 2 seconds behind you with the same tune. Where on earth you get them from I can't imagine, but I noticed that I don't need to brake as much as I do. I can see myself at 1'18.5xx but no faster. 👍

Nice time and glad you liked the tune 👍

BTW, if you can run that fast how are you only D2G?

Thanks :sly: , as far as I can tell it is all about fine throttle control and balancing the car on just on the point where it is about to break away in order to get it to turn into the corners better but without breaking traction, it is very tricky but that's the general idea :) Just got a 1:17.291 but lost 0.15 in the last corner :) Getting the back end to swing round on the brakes makes a difference as well but not so much that you crash ;)

EDIT: just changed the rear suspension height from 20 to 21 and found it is slightly better, did a 21.716 first sector then promptly crashed :banghead:

Thanks for the tune Stotty 👍

Found it very hard to control at 1st on the pad but got used to it and improved on my previous by 0.5secs!! and just broke into the 17s,which was sort of my goal. :)

Nice one... 17's with the pad is seriously impressive 👍

I only spent 10 mins on the qualifier  I was to impatient. Just did a 1:17.231 but lost 2-3 tenths on the first corner of the second sector, out braked myself and missed the apex by a large amount :dunce:

Has anyone reached gold 1:24.500 using the C7? I am .6s from getting it, need to gain some more pp on the new car I guess.

My first sector was 2 tenths slower than yours but I'm less than a tenth behind you

Edit: Nevermind. You are in the top 10 now. Nice job 👍

Thanks Doodle, I still have at least 0.5 to find in the middle sector which I know I can find, it's just a matter of putting the corners together :)

Nice rant

If you're currently at 1'18.2 there's no miracle set up that is gonna gain you 1.6 seconds, so I wouildn't get worked up about Amo's tune - I've had access to his tunes in previous TT's and I have no idea how he get's them round so quickly... he just has a talent beyond most poeple to control weight transfers through the wheel, gas and brake pedal.

If you look at how he takes the 1st corner, he's using GT5's 'brake release oversteer' trait to precisely point the car at the corner... that's how he manages to carry so much entry speed. I can set a car up to do that with ballast, toe and brake settings, but to be able to control it that precisely isn't the tune, it's his skill.

In any case, you don't need to be at 103mph in turn 1 to set a fast 1st sector. I can stay within 0.1xx of him on a good lap at T1, and I'm dropping to 100mph in turn 1... but then I'm not getting as much oversteer on the exit and so I pull some ground back on him before the 2nd corner.

Here's what I'm using... 1'17.6 (24th), but I reckon this will run very low 17's once I figure the middle sector out.

Edit... BTW, forgot to say, without tuning, the really fast guys will be even further ahead.

Thanks for the tune Stotty! Dropped over 1 sec now at 1:18.4xx.

Can't believe I just did 21.668 in the first sector! Of course I promptly crashed it :banghead:

Ok. Get this...
I just bought a new Z06 (C6) '06. Fitted wings & rims, all the other parts required for the TT including full weight reduction & engine modification.
200kg ballast @50
Rear wing 20
Power 94.6%
LSD 5/10/5
Rear toe 0.00
Raised rear ride height to 20
Set the Transmission the same as my previous car
Everything else as it came.
(I thouhgt this would be a good place to start tuning)

Within 10 laps beat my time with 1:18.236 Knocking 0.270 off my previous car. It would seem i made a good job of slowiing it down. (I had to giggle).

 I haven't gotten any sector 1's below 21.805

I barely improved to a 1:17.43 to get back in the top 20 but I do have a 1:17.1 or lower possible.

I think i need to watch a few replays... coz i can't get my first sector under 22.2 .. i have trouble with the first corner.. and i have trouble with the sharp left between the 2 tunnels near the end of the second sector..

It was almost perfect that time :sly: I had a 1:16.8/9 on but messed up the last corner haha :dunce:
