Perfect first sector is 21.656 ;) Keep trying :p

All i now is i'm going in the right direction for cornering. I dont know if it efects straightline speed. I'm usually hitting about 22.1 +/- .1. But i ran a little exercise to reduce corner understeer & exit oversteer and so far its working and is easier to drive.
I really dont expect a world perfect 21.6. It was perfect in my abillity.

Looks like it's working - great time 👍

Thanks man, your tune helped.
The installed parts got me 10+ Bhp, and when I adopted your ARB's I started nailing the First Turn alot more. Great for the consistancy. 👍

Good to see everyone is improving, and more importantly, enjoying it 👍

I just faffed about for ages making small adjustments to the front and rear toe, improving by hundreths here and there, then went back to my original tune and found 0.2 straight away... 1'17.378 and 20th place for now.

Not a great time, but I also found I was being a bit too gentle with the car... You can't exactly throw it about, but it does respond to carrying a bit more lock mid corner than I'd normally feel sensible.

I also picked up comment in Joker's post about running lower feedback, so I dropped mine to 7 and it definitely felt a little easier to handle. Thanks PJ 👍

Won't be running for the next couple of days and might flip to the RS200 when I get back on line as I've only run an hour or so in that and I reckon there's a bit more time to come :)

Thank you for your intelligent and considered reply.

You're welcome 👍

Just got a 21.643 first sector, I think I have a better setup now for the last and middle sectors than I did before, I changed the rear spring rate to 8.9 and the rear camber to 0.9 and also the acceleration sensitivity to 16 :) Now all I need to do is put a lap together

My god..... I haven't seen you be so into a Time Trail since the one with the Go Karts at Kart Space. Epic sector 1. I'm still yet to enter the .7s

I'm determined to get into 1st place :sly: and besides it is good practice for GT Academy :)

Amazing 1st sector... I'm happy with anything in the 8's

Also running 16 as accel - I've tried as high as 20, but any higher than 16 makes the section in the tunnels a bit tricky.

I think by most people's standards, you already 'put a lap togther'... but good luck improving :tup

Edit...

BTW, saw this today and thought you guys might enjoy it... Chris 'Monkey' Harris thrashing the testicles off a 458 Spider...

Stotty, your tune is good. I actually got down to 18.5xx.

But there's a hint of understeer that's very noticeable on the second half of the track. Any idea how to correct this via the suspension? Toe angle?

Change the rear ride height to 21, this should help :)

Yes, I know it's there... but like all tunes it's a balancing act.

You can reduce the understeer by reducing the front and rear toe, but the consequence is a car that won't get out of the corners as well.

I try to get round it in 2 ways... 1) use a bit of a slight drift through the 1st part of double apex right at the bottom of the hill, and 2) turn in a bit harder than usual off the throttle in to the corners in the tunnels (to use the ballast weight to swing the rear).

Yea, I used the drift technique especially toward the base off the hill and drifted a little during the bridge section.

Good tune. Props to you. :)

Edit: Dropped to 18.3xx now without ASM. DS3.

My direction seems to be working by adjusting Front Toe to 0.22. Turns in better and i can get the power down sooner. First i drove the car with 0 front & rear toe i could then see what stotty was trying to sort out and in my opinion it just needed a tiny bit more. Tried other combinations of front & rear and it did not work out. The rear is about as good as its going to get.
Will have a look at camber angles like bandit. But first i need to put a lap together only improved best time by 0.05 but that was not clean enough.

I'm using a DFGT, but my FFB is on 4!
10 slows down my steering too much & makes counter-steer a real ball-ache :scared:

To be honest i never even tried a lower feedback.. Maybe am looking too much into realism :/
Lmao yea its a real ball ache.. Me in middle of a turn "turnturnturnwaitturnwaitahhhhwtf" Restart..... Havent tried your tune yet i will now leave it till tommorow :) Good luck whoever smashes lap after lap an constantly banging their head against the wheel :) p.s anybody using a dining chair an a dressing table?? Not a bad oul setup lol...

wouldnt it be better to do the 2nd seasonal instead?
The GTA car might not be as agreeable with you as the vette.
Might be better to diversify your skillset portfolio:P

By no means am I fast on GT5 as I dont have a wheel nor the time to dedicate to playing right now, but Stotty, these tunes make me look like a PRO! Thanks man!

Here's what I'm using... 1'17.6 (24th), but I reckon this will run very low 17's once I figure the middle sector out.

Corvette Z06 (C6) '06 (that's a lot of 6's )
New car, no oil change, change rims
 If you drove this car to that ET then  to you! My right knee is killing me with all the throttle pressure needed to control this beast :ouch:

Well done on current 21st place ET!

Did help me by a few hundred, but not sure if my knee can keep up with the set up. Turns in nicely in most spots and great on the fast right hand bend as you go down hill after the tunnel.

Right ok so i was nearly for bed an then i watched a replay off all the top ten guys.. Next thing its 6.00am an i have kind of learned abs an asm.. I was 134th with a time of 18.441 with no assists but now am 40th with a time of 17.680... An my best first sector has been 21.804 an my best second split is 28.5 but i cant get the last sector :(( was 0.107 up on on 10th place Guy then failed miserably :(

I used to use a similar setup to that until I made this for my design and technology project last year :)

I might try that if I get bored of this one :)

EDIT: Just got a 1:16.802, had a bad first sector at 21.793 but did 28.258 through the second sector, in the third sector I touched the grass on the outside when I turned in and it cost me between 1-2 tenths round that corner as I went wide :headbang: Still happy that I now believe Amo's time is definitely possible to beat just very tricky :sly:

Quality stuff m8! Your putting me in the mood to take the slats out of my bed an make a sturdy frame for a car seat lol.. Btw I dont understand how you use that chase cam :) lol not a mission could i use that lol well done.. Am slighty worried that since the Academy TT over that i will get put down to 200odd again :(

I posted a tune for the RS200 eariler in this thread that a couple of people are using in the top 10.. Screp reckoned it was good enough to get 1st in.

Good one on the Vette time... and good luck beating Amo 👍

I know its time to stop when my head hurts an i struggle to type :( ahhhh well this is my best sector times an i would be thankfull if someone could tell me my perfect lap time so far :)
First Sector is 21.804,28.532,26.744 << thats my best so far.. What time would that get me??

very good lap m8, my congratulations.

Quick Calculation.. It says 1:17:080 an that would be 8th an then i would quietly get up an grab the nearest whiskey bottle an neck it :) p.s i changed my steering wheel settings from simulation to professional seems to be working fine :)
