Since I can't ever hope to get near the top of the rankings in TTs I like to try to gold them with some less likely cars. To that end I bought a new Corvette Convertible (C3) loaded up the power and reduced its weight.

I had a go in an '00 ZO6 (C5)-loads more power/less weight(and running at 574pp)and much more straight line speed(144mph vs 134mph across the line) but it loses out so much in the corners-reckon I need a good tune,but I almost matched my time in the '09(about 3 or 4 tenths less).

I always give it a go but then revert to what everyone else is using.

Its good to experiment though.

Maby I could beat him if I played like I did before I got a girlfriend and A job I was on ps3 and Xbox 16+ hours a day lol them where the days :-)

Lol it could happen. There was a guy on fm3 that was the #1 S class racer. He posted his tune for a track on his store and I bought it, beat his time by .800 and he recruited me to his team and gave me every set up for every track.

When that happens it makes you feel great. :)

What was his name on fm3? And what was your gamer tag? I was TTR McLaren and TRC Freak I had top tens and rank 1s on PGR 3 PGR 4 FM1 FM2 TDU and Race Pro but that's when I had unlimited time to play lol but GT5 is what I always wanted to race on :-)

Just managed the gold with my Corvette Stingray Convertible (C3) '69. 1:24.406 at 518PP.
Have my bobs running the Laguna Seca 200 now to break it in then see if I can knock a bit more time off that with some more power.

If anyone's interested I'll post the tune for it after Bob finishes.:cheers:

Just tried Praiano's tune, not sure if it's because it's for the ZR1, or just because it's pre 2.10, but it didn't work for my personal style. Moving on to CSL's next.

My time of 1:24.389 was good for 7479th place around the Corvette Deep Forest Reverse trial. I bought a second 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZO6 (because I have one that was Racing Modified). I originally wanted to use my Premium C5 Corvette. My only modifications to the C6 I used in this trial were non-PP tuning parts (like the transmission among others), an oil change, and I added some aero parts to it. Maybe the most fun part of racing this course was in coming out of the backstretch and sliding the rear like a drift car. I didn't think my run would be good enough to surpass the 1:24.500 mark for Gold. Fortunately, I cleared it. I thought this Time Trial would mostly suit the 2009 Corvette C6 and the 2014 Corvette Stingray Final Prototype.

As of this post, I haven't yet done the pre-1989 rally car trial around Eiger Nordwand W Trail. I'll either update this post or make a new one when I get around to doing that one.

On pgr3 I was r0 tyrant. I played with exitspeed, motoville and freakofnature1 all the way up to fm3. My name was the same until I joined emw, then I was emw nuke, the guy I beat was emw mayhem. It's funny because I see this guy on fm4 on the leader boards named Hornet and I smacked him around so hard in 3. I even gave him some of my special tunes but on 4 he wouldn't acknowledge knowing me.

On topic: I plan on giving this TT a run tonight or tomorrow on the vette. Hope I can keep it on the track. The stingray is loose

Edit: now that I think about it, TTR sounds very familiar from pgr..... That's weird lol

I remember Hornet from my days of FM3 :D I used to race him all the time. I was only 13 years old back then so I wasn't as good as I was today. Although I actually had several top 200s and 100s in the S class boards.
 
Gave up on the ZR1 can't get under 1:22 so tried the Z06 2006 and got 1:20 easily with just sports suspension. 176 on leader board but want to get into top 100 but need to learn how to tune suspension!
 
Gahh!! I was starting a run at Deep Forest when I got called up for bed. Oh well, I'll go for the 1:17s tomorrow. Nice job Joker for getting P5 👍

TTR was Team Technique Racing. I used to race with daveyskills , Picasso , Neo jake , Skywalker , Normski. I think daveyskills moved to iracing. I've lost touch with them all when I got rid of the Xbox . Now it's time to find new friends/racers on gt5 :-)
 
Using a ZR1 (C6). No matter what I try, it just plows when under hard braking. Managed a high 1:20s but there's at least 1 second to be gained if the understeer wasn't there.

Wow, very impressive...and you drive with a pad...
I'm also a pad-driver, can I add you today after work (sad, but that will be in about 10 hrs)...would be nice to try your tune.....at the momemt i have a 1.20.7xx after about 10 laps

I used the Mitsubishi Starion 4WD rally car to gold the dirt event as a start. Quite stable & easy gold. I'll go on to the Lancia & Ford at a later stage.

Tuned for the Corvette Time Trial at Deep Forest this old warrior can still bring home the gold. You'll need to watch the throttle though or it will shred the rear tires all the way into 5th. May not be as fast as its newer descendants but old school looks and plenty of attitude make it a blast to drive.

Consider the above tune as a rough starting point. There is more left in the car but I'm burned out at the moment and what little driving skills I have are MIA currently.:drool:

At some point I may try the car again without the Supercharger to see if reduced torque will make it a bit more driver friendly.

As always this was tuned with DS3, Automatic transmission, ABS1 and driving line...all other aids are off.:dopey:
